The care that my mother received at Bletchingley & Wellington was outstanding. The staff made the last few years of her life as comfortable as they could be, they fully understood her condition and always acted in both a professional and a compassionate manner. The facilities are great, the home is
very well organised and represents good value for money.

This care home has been phenomenal looking after Grandad. I was apprehensive when I knew Grandad was being moved to a care home but very quickly, my worries disappeared. The staff are what make this home so special, they were there to care for him, make him laugh and hold his hand when we couldn't.
They treated him with love, compassion and dignity and supported us, as a family, in the same way. Trusting strangers with the person you love most is incredibly hard but knowing each time we left him he would be cared for by the Bletchingley staff made it slightly easier. Grandad loved the team here who became an extended family for him over the last two years and I am forever grateful to them.

Lovely home. Great staff looked after my mum so very well. Mum was very anxious going into a care facility after many years of being independent. As soon as she arrived at Wellington, she was treated with a warm welcome. She was encouraged to go out of her room and down to the lounge to socialise and
join in with activities. This has really been a turning point for her. All of the staff are so kind and respectful.
Mum was only there for rehabilitation but if she could have stayed there she would!

My brother has lived at Bletchingley for two years. The home is a lovely environment, always extremely clean with residents clearly well cared for. The rooms are light, airy and comfortable. The staff are absolutely lovely. All very friendly, caring and kind. I feel like it is one big family. They always
make us welcome, bringing tea or coffee. They treat all the residents with kindness and respect. I feel that my brother is very happy there.

Unfortunately, my father passed away in October, however prior to that, he had been a resident for nearly three years. During that time, he was looked after to an exceptional standard, all the rooms and living areas were kept clean and tidy and you could be forgiven for thinking that you were in a friend's
home when sitting in the lounge.
However, for me, the big difference was the lovely staff and the level and quality of care provided. The staff are all very polite, well mannered and friendly at all times. They also ensure that a large variety of social activities are provided for the residents but ultimately, the choice is left to the individual to either join in or not, respecting their dignity at all times.
If and when it is my turn to move to care, I hope I can end up in a place run to the same high levels and with similar lovely people.

I was admitted to Bletchingley & Wellington following a cardiac arrest and being displaced since I lived alone. The staff and management go out of their way to assist all residents, ensuring everyone is looked after. Tidy rooms, hot meals, excellent facilities and weekly entertainment to keep residents
happy.
Sad to have been shifted.

Unfortunately, I am not able to visit as often as I would like but my brother seems so much more relaxed and happy in his new environment due mainly to the lovely staff. Nothing seems too much trouble for them. On one occasion there was music and a m\le singer and it was obvious that the patients (and
visitors) were thoroughly enjoying it with the tapping and mouthing the words. One lady, helped by a member of staff, danced the whole time, she looked so happy. You seem to have found the answer in caring for those that need that extra bit of care. Well done and thank you.

We have visited quite a few times and on each occasion we have found all of the staff to be so welcoming. There seems to be sufficient staff numbers for them to provide the care and attention that the residents need. It is nice to see that entertainment is provided which the residents seem to enjoy
a great deal and provides stimulation to their brains and exercise to those who decide to dance a little.

Mum spent six weeks at Wellington House for reablement after a fall and received excellent care and support throughout her stay. The staff are a truly wonderful team, they work incredibly hard but always manage to be cheerful and kind. Mum was encouraged to join in the daily exercises as far as she
was able to and she was seen regularly by an occupational therapist. Her stay at Wellington House has enabled her to return home with confidence and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to others in a similar situation.

My mother-in-law was a resident at Bletchingley & Wellington for about eighteen months during which time she was well looked after and treated with care and respect. The staff are friendly and attentive to both residents and their families, taking the time to learn the names of regular visitors.

Fabulous! The care my mother received was exemplary at Wellington, everyone was so friendly and always helpful with my mother's needs and went beyond and above. We even received help with form filling which is a minefield, to say the least, and made the process more comfortable. My mum was apprehensive
when she arrived but quickly made friends with some of the residents and although she is now in hospital she still keeps in touch with the residents, she loved the activities and visits from outside petting animals and entertainment nights she looked forward to and raved about afterwards. We were always greeted with a smile and a welcome as if we were their own family, I would have no hesitation in recommending Wellington it deserves more than a 5-star review, thank you.

Our dad was initially transferred from hospital to Wellington House for rehab but it quickly became apparent that his needs were too great and he would not be able to return home. We were so impressed with the care he received at Wellington and were delighted when he was offered a room in Bletchingley
where he stayed for another 15 months. The care he received was first class; he was always treated with respect and dignity and all the staff gave him (and us) the best care and support we could have wished for. We have no hesitation in recommending Wellington House and Bletchingley.

My dad was at Bletchingley & Wellington for over a year and a half and I cannot fault anything the wonderful staff did. They were always kind and polite and treated Dad with dignity, respect and love until the very end. Their communication with me was also excellent throughout and I am forever in their
debt for providing such an excellent level of care. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you do.

My mother was in Bletchingley & Wellington for nearly 4 months and the care from all of the care staff was first-class. Everyone was caring and compassionate, and cared for Mum with kindness and dignity, there was a lovely activities coordinator who engaged everyone in movement activities and lots of
crafts. The care staff were friendly and always available if needed by mum to help with her daily needs.
As a family we were included and listened to and the Social Worker for this care home was outstanding! Thank you, you are all amazing!

From the time that my wife first moved to Bletchingley & Wellington, the staff were superb in every way. They quickly grasped what help she needed and the team always worked closely together to ensure the best possible care is given to all their patients. The staff are rightly proud of their “team“
approach and understanding of patient needs. The Wellington is absolutely spotless and no stone is unturned to ensure cleanliness means everywhere and every day. I am extremely pleased that my wife moved into the Wellington but I’m a little sad that I don’t see those happy and diligent staff and patients regularly! God bless them all.

Following a traumatic 14 weeks in hospital and the re-hab unit, my dad was delighted to be accepted at Bletchingley, following a friendly and reassuring chat with the manager who ensured a swift move to a bright, spacious and extremely clean room. Dad settled in quickly and during the 7 months he was
in residence he was always treated courteously by all the staff, from the cleaners through to the senior nurses, with the utmost care and kindness. Nothing was too much trouble and any health issues were addressed quickly and efficiently ensuring that Dad was comfortable and free of pain. Although Dad chose not to join in at meals, these were bought to him and he did join in the entertainment, both in the summer and at Christmas, which he thoroughly enjoyed. As visitors, I and the family were always greeted with a smile and an offer of a hot drink which was never too much trouble. In summary, the wonderful staff at Bletchingley made my dad’s final days both comfortable and enjoyable.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.855)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.855) out of 10 for Bletchingley & Wellington is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 39 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.855 for Bletchingley & Wellington is calculated as follows: ( (381 Excellents x 5) + (56 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 441 Ratings = 4.855
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bletchingley & Wellington is based on 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 56 registered maximum number of service users is 11.2, which has been reached with 39 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I have worked at Bletchingley since December 2017. I am the first point of contact for all visitors to the home. Every day I liaise with in-house nursing, care and support staff as well as outside professionals which I really enjoy as well as talking to the residents whenever possible. I take pride in keeping the office side of Bletchingley in good order and am proud to be part of a warm and welcoming residential home.
