If I could give 6 stars I would! Everything about this care home exceeded my expectations. The manager and all the staff treated my relative with such kindness, compassion and dignity. Nothing was ever too much trouble and all special needs were catered for completely. I would not hesitate to recommend
this home. A very special place to live.

The care and compassion shown to my 98-year-old mother by all the staff at Wellington, from the day she entered in May, to her passing in October was exemplary, the home comes with my highest recommendation.

I came to Bletchingley & Wellington Care Home following a short spell in hospital, I was there so that I could build up my confidence and strength prior to going home. I was there for eight weeks in total. I found all the staff to be very kind and courteous. they were very good at encouraging me to
do the morning exercises and to do the exercises that had been set as a goal by the occupational therapist. I enjoyed the activities that were set by the activities co-ordinator. I also enjoyed doing crafts and helping to make the decorations for the summer party. While there, I enjoyed the variety of meals that were provided and if there was something that I didn't like then something else was provided for me. While staying at Wellington, when I had visitors they were always offered a drink. I enjoyed making a pair of penguins, one of which is in the residents' lounge. I was always encouraged to do things for myself. I am now back home and settling in well. I now have in place the aids that were suggested by the occupational therapist.

The staff and service at Bletchingley and Wellington was absolutely first class and nothing was too much trouble. My sister received excellent health care for the two years that she was a resident. We also thought that the fees were quite reasonable in comparison to other nursing homes.

My 76-year-old mum stayed at Wellington House for just over 5 weeks for a period of rehabilitation after a short visit to hospital. This was to gain strength and confidence before returning to her own home.
All the staff were warm and welcoming. the home administrator was kind and helpful with any
questions I had. The care team were brilliant and treated Mum with respect and dignity. They also met her dietary requirements well (gluten-free). Mum did say that she felt there could have been more fresh veg, salad and fruit.
I’m very thankful for the time that Mum had. Particularly thankful to the occupational therapist who gave Mum so much time, both in the nursing home and at Mum's own home, making sure that on return it meet her needs. She was brilliant and efficient at putting in place what Mum needed. Mum gained confidence again, and is now settling back in at home.

I am so grateful for all the assistance provided during my 6 week stay.
Staff were super and the culture is caring and supportive.
Management and administration excellent.
Without the support, during a time of great difficulty for me, I'm not sure how I would have coped.

My Mum spent 6 weeks at Wellington House on a re-ablement programme after being in hospital. The care she received was absolutely superb. The facilities are excellent and the staff are so kind and caring. Mum was very well-fed and her dietary needs were seamlessly catered for. She worked with the
occupational therapists regularly whilst at Wellington House and was able to return home, thanks to their kindness and building up her confidence.
As a family, we are immensely grateful to all at Wellington House. We would like to thank them for their incredible support and care. Their communication and attention to detail was excellent and the level of care was truly exceptional. We would not hesitate to recommend Wellington House to others and would like to thank everyone at Wellington House for helping us to get our lovely Mum home again.

We cannot thank the nurses, carers and staff enough for all the wonderful care they have given our mother over the past weeks. She took a while to accept she is not able to take care of herself as she was unable to go home, but with everybody’s care and understanding she has settled down and it is so
comforting for us to know how well she is being looked after.
The staff have always made us so welcome. They are such a great team and we thank them for all their kindness and hard work.

My Mother has been a resident of Wellington House since just before last Christmas following two falls resulting in two stays in hospital. After an initial period of settling in which was helped so much by all members of staff, she is now so happy where she is and just loves all the staff, she tells
us on our frequent visits how well she is looked after and that nothing is too much trouble. As a family, we are so pleased with Wellington House and every single member of staff, from the cleaners, carers, nursing staff and receptionist. When visiting, the staff are so friendly and helpful to us, answering any questions or queries we might have. To sum up, Wellington House is exceptional in its care, not only of our mother but all residents, in a clean, bright and friendly environment. A big thank you to you all.

My father received very good care at Bletchingley & Wellington. The staff were patient and efficient. When I asked questions about my dad's health I was given updates from the nurses, from well-kept records.
Visitors were always made to feel welcome and my dad enjoyed his time there.
When I phoned
or emailed I always found the staff helpful.

My father was a resident for five and a half years before he sadly passed away. He was extremely well cared for and I could not have wished for a better place for him to spend his final years. The staff were amazing! Words will never be enough to express my gratitude and admiration for them. He was
happy and content which is all I could have wished for. I will sorely miss visiting there as the staff were always very friendly and helpful and also very professional in the care they gave my father and other residents. I will be eternally grateful to them. Love them all.

My husband was transferred to Wellington House from hospital in June 2022 and stayed until November 2022. The care he received was outstanding. The staff were caring, friendly and attentive to his every need. I was so reassured when I first visited him. The atmosphere in the home was relaxed and calm
and the receptionist was excellent in dealing with all my queries and making sure he was settled; it was always a pleasure to see her. My husband stayed at Wellington House for a considerable length of time and the patience of the carers and professionals in helping to regain his mobility was heartwarming. The nurses were across his medication and regularly in touch with the local GP. He really appreciated the visits from the chiropodist and the hairdresser, all organised on our behalf. It was a great relief to know that he was in such wonderful hands, from the care manager, who was so kind to me, to the occupational therapist, the chef, the cleaners, the carers and the receptionist. Thank you, all of you.

and in the best possible place. The atmosphere is always so calm and reassuring.

My father was referred to Bletchingley in June 2021 aged 93, at first temporarily after a fall at home and a spell in hospital. After a short while, he surprised us all by saying he would prefer to stay on rather than go home and live independently. Since then, he has continued to describe how happy
and cared for he feels at the home. The staff are attentive, responsible and understanding of his specific needs which are basically to be left alone but monitored closely. He is always clean and well-fed, his medications are administered precisely. Staff bring the phone to his room for daily calls, and his room is warm and clean. The family couldn't be happier with his placement, he has spent a happy 18 months there.

This is our first encounter with a care home. The staff at Bletchley & Wellington have been very friendly and are always happy to help. My dad came from the hospital to Bletchley where he settled in really well. The staff took into account his needs and treated him with respect and dignity. They also
took my mum's concerns around dad being in care into account and eased her anxiety. If we have any questions or concerns they are always able to help or will find out the answers for us.
When it was my dad's birthday everyone wrote on his card. They also made him a birthday cake which we all enjoyed. The staff made this day very special for our family. It is a very well-managed care home and we can highly recommend it.

Mum was looked after really well. Unfortunately due to her mobility, she was unable to participate in activities in the day room but from what was seen in the newsletter it looks like the residents are kept amused during the day. Really cannot fault mum's care whilst in the home.

My father was placed at Bletchingley & Wellington Nursing home to recuperate after being in the hospital. From the outset every one of the staff has been brilliant, exceptionally caring, welcoming and keeping us updated at all times. My father, the employees and the home are always immaculate. He likes
to do his own thing and they are very accommodating. He has several health issues and whatever the situation everyone is patient, kind and courteous. My father has now decided to become a permanent resident and we are amazed as he had always been against going into full-time care. I feel this is due to the wonderful staff he regards as friends. I would also like to say this is a lovely place to visit him. Thank you Wellington for all you do and for giving us peace of mind.

My friend a retired nurse with multiple health issues and dementia was moved to Bletchingley & Wellington after other homes had failed to meet her complex needs. They succeeded where other homes had failed her. All the team were kind, respectful and professional in their work. The concept of Advance
Care Planning was understood and actioned with the agreement of the local GP (at my request soon after admission) Thank you Bletchingley & Wellington.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.855) out of 10 for Bletchingley & Wellington is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 39 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.855 for Bletchingley & Wellington is calculated as follows: ( (381 Excellents x 5) + (56 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 441 Ratings = 4.855
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bletchingley & Wellington is based on 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 56 registered maximum number of service users is 11.2, which has been reached with 39 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I have worked at Bletchingley since December 2017. I am the first point of contact for all visitors to the home. Every day I liaise with in-house nursing, care and support staff as well as outside professionals which I really enjoy as well as talking to the residents whenever possible. I take pride in keeping the office side of Bletchingley in good order and am proud to be part of a warm and welcoming residential home.
