My brother-in-law had been a resident for five years in Blossom Hill. I can't thank the staff enough for their love, care and support to him and our family during this time. All the staff including nurses, cleaners, care assistants and admin staff and the managers, all of whom couldn't do enough for
us.

W as a family are very pleased with our mum's care. She seems very happy and the staff are friendly and approachable if there are any problems. She is treated with dignity, respect and support when needed and has a good relationship with all staff. The facilities, activities and food are excellent and

The best thing my nana did was move to Blossom Hill Care Home. She has been so settled and receives all the care to meet her needs to a very high standard. The family are happy and does not need to stress about her safety. She is supported and cared for in the best possible way.

I have had, over the last three years, a number of friends and family in care homes and found the standard of care, poor, but after visiting a friend of 98 years, in your home, I have found the staff and management to be very compassionate and caring and the building to be clean and well maintained.

My Grandmother has been in Blossom Hill since January 2018, from the instant she moved in the management team and all staff have made her feel extremely welcome. The standard of care in Blossom hill is truly exceptional. Staff are professional, dedicated, caring and are always kind and polite to both
residents and family members. I can honestly say that staff and management genuinely care about the welfare of their residents, each resident is treated with dignity, compassion and respect, this is much is clear to any observer.
The management team are always available to discuss any concerns you may have and regularly keep our family up to date with any changes in my grandmother, giving us peace of mind and allowing us to be confident that she is under the best care possible.
The home is well maintained, hygienic, clean and tidy and has a lovely, homely feel and the staff provide a genuine warmth. Fabulous care home with a family feel, efficiently run to a very high standard.

This home went above all expectations in the final month of my mothers passing the staff from the top to the bottom delivered outstanding care in mams final weeks.
Could not praise all the staff enough. This home must be one if not the best of its kind in our area. I don't like to single out staff
as they were all exceptional but may I just give special mention to two carers in particular who did all they could to make mam comfortable during her last few weeks you were diamonds.

My mum and more recently dad were both residents of Blossom Hill. As I live away from my home town. I visited monthly and was made very welcome and cared for having driven a distance to visit. More importantly, the care my parents received was excellent, very professional and loving treating both with
dignity. Anyone seeking a care home in the Sunderland area would be foolish not to consider Blossom Hill.

The care my late mother received over the last 8 months of her life was exemplary. All of the staff made my mother and me very welcome. My mother was included in the activities at the home doing things like sing-alongs that I never thought she would participate in. It was lovely to know that she was
enjoying herself. The staff kept me informed at all times of how she was and gave me support as her condition started to deteriorate.

We had the hardest decision to make when my grandad was taken poorly and we got told he had to pick a care home for him. We had a look at Blossom Hill and the staff was lovely it felt like home. They made my grandad really welcome and the care he got was really lovely we couldn’t have asked for anything
more. The staff was all ways there to help, smiling and laughing couldn’t say a bad word about this care home you all do an excellent job and thank you so much for all your hard work and care you give to my grandad x

My auntie as been in since February 2020 and she as settled in no bother and the staff are very helpful and very good with the resident's plenty for them to do. The entertainment is very good we all like a good sing-song but we know she is very well looked after. I would definitely recommend this home.

My mam has been in Blossom Hill since the beginning of March 2020. From the outset, management, staff and residents made mam very welcome.
The care mam receives is exceptional. The staff are dedicated and very caring and help mam retain her dignity at this difficult time. The management and staff are
always kind and polite which is greatly appreciated by mam and her family.
Management and staff are always available to discuss any concerns I have, and keep me up to date with such things as her medication, eating habits and fluid intake. Mam is a fussy eater, and staff will go out of their way to ensure that she has something to eat that she likes.
My mam is in good hands which is very reassuring to us all. I would highly recommend Blossom Hill to anyone who is in need of care.

My dad was 94 and suffering from Dementia when we had to make the decision to move him to a care home. This decision on which home was not only a very difficult decision to make, it was also one of the most important decisions to make. My sister and I visited 12 care homes in Sunderland before deciding
on Blossom Hill. Dad spent the last 21 months of his life in Blossom Hill and every single day he was there he was treated with love, dignity and compassion. The staff kept him engaged and stimulated with kind words, chats and cuddles. Every time we left the home after visiting, we had the peace of mind knowing that dad was in the right place, safe and content. Blossom Hill has a clean fresh smell and all the rooms and both dining rooms are bright and airy. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms and there are no restrictions on visiting times. We were also able to take dad out if we wanted to.
We have nothing but the highest praise for the whole team at Blossom Hill.

Blossom Hill is a greatly maintained care home, one of the best I have personally seen. Care home hygiene is excellent from what I’ve witnessed during my visits.
Staff at Blossom Hill are exceptionally great with residents and families, always making you feel welcome; showing their professional and
caring nature.
Blossom Hill is an outstanding place to be, they have so much going on - from group activities among residents to trips out to the local church.
Blossom Hill staff members cared for my nana until her final day's. We are so grateful for the time and dedication put into making nana’s last days so comforting and eventful.
We would like to say a huge thank you for welcoming nana into Blossom Hill’s family; from the very first day.

Current management are always helpful and available. Overall the staff are friendly and helpful to some it's a vocation, to others it's just a job. I would give a special mention to staff who helped my mother settle in and in some cases goes beyond what is required to support my mother. If I had one
issue it would relate to catering e.g Chinese New Year, lunch was a Chinese meal, no option was provided.

Job Title: Home Manager

I started my career in a private-sector nursing home in 2002 looking after the elderly. Following this, I went on to study for 3 years at Northumbria University qualifying as a Registered Mental Health Nurse. After qualifying I went on to work with young people living with mental health. Although I found this very rewarding, I chose that working with the elderly was more my focus and this is the sector I continue to work within. As the Manager of Blossom Hill Care Home alongside a dedicated staff team, we all share the same passion for caring for the elderly as myself.
