Upon entering Braintree Mews Care Home, I felt welcomed into the most palatial comfort. Customer service manager made the whole experience easier. No one envisaged this situation which is traumatic for all. My dad feels he has a purpose, he's valued. This home is a beautiful palatial palace for memory care and all the staff are wonderful.

Reply from Scott Reece, Customer Service Manager at Braintree Mews Care Home - Avery Collection

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. It has been nothing but a pleasure caring for Dad! We have had some great laughs together since he joined us. He has settled in well and is a greatly valued resident - also it must be said that he keeps our gardens looking lovely.

My mum had two weeks respite care. Braintree Mews Care Home is a lovely building with great facilities and staff. They provided activities every day for the residents. I couldn't fault it but staff were a little light at weekends, that's the only negative, but the care home is new so that was to be expected.

Reply from Alexander Bragg, Home Manager at Braintree Mews Care Home - Avery Collection

Thank you for your kind words, we will pass these on to the team, especially regarding activities. We are pleased that we have a rolling recruitment process that focuses on individuals' values and behaviours to ensure they are a good fit for us. Further, we are proud to have partnered with two local organisations to support people back into the workplace.

My mother moved in February and smooth transition from her home to the mews made her and our life easy. We found the staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We now have peace of mind knowing that she is having the best of care.

Such a lovely home with wonderfully kind and caring staff. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the team who all work very hard and look after their residents extremely well.
The home is newly opened and is more of a beautiful hotel with the benefit of carers to help with various individual needs. It certainly isn't like any other care home I have been to.
It has a residential floor for those who may just need an extra helping hand but want to stay independent, a memory floor and a third floor too. All floors have their own dining, lounge and library facilities, all with beautiful furniture.
The hairdressing and beauty salon are lovely, as are the cinema room, café area and private dining room, which all help to promote independence. The fabulous activity coordinators plan a variety of daily activities which the residents are welcome to join should they wish.

This was a huge move for our family member but we are delighted that they have settled very well and are happy and thriving.

Mum had a lovely time at Braintree Mews Care Home. She enjoyed the activities on offer and said the food was good. She also likes socialising. The room was luxurious and very clean and she was generally looked after well. My only concern was that she was not wearing her hearing aids when I picked her up and they were in the charger the wrong way round, so had no power. Otherwise, a great service and the staff and management are all lovely.

A big thank you to the Braintree Mews Care Home team for looking after my father during 17 days of respite care so that the family could take my mother on a much-deserved holiday. It's fair to say things turned out a little more challenging than expected however my father was well looked after and staff were more than happy for us to call and speak to them every day when we couldn't get through directly using my father's phone. Whilst my father was thankful to all staff and made some good friends, the family have to give special mention to one staff member in particular who went above and beyond to look after my father and keep us updated of how things were going whilst we were away. I undertook a post-stay review with my father in the week following his return home and other than making constant mention of the fantastic food that he had during his stay, he simply noted 10/10. Bottom line: Our family would feel more than comfortable with my father staying at Braintree Mews again in the future.

In the few weeks Dad has been at the Mews his anxiety levels have dropped, his well-being has improved and in his words, his mental health is much better.

All the staff at the Mews, including reception, catering, maintenance, carers and management have been more than supportive. Living a long way from the Mews this support reduces my stress levels and I know that I can speak to Dad when ever he is available. There has been a real transformation in Dad in a few short weeks.

I can't thank the manager and his team at Braintree Mews enough for the care and support they've provided for my mum from the day she arrived. They have been superb. All the staff have been friendly, welcoming and easy to talk to, and not just to my mum but to all our family when visiting.
Thank you, we really do appreciate everything you've done and everything you're doing.

Oh and my mum wouldn't forgive me if I didn't also mention how much she enjoys the food, so a big thank you to the kitchen staff too.

The family had lunch at the Mews today. The private dining room is beautiful. Food was exceptional and portions were plentiful. Well done to whoever was the chef today. After lunch, we went into the lounge and joined a few more residents for a lovely afternoon. The Mews is such a friendly place. It isn't like a care home. Couldn't ask for better care for Mum.

Following a tour of the facilities, we decided to proceed with an application for Mum.
The manager visited her in the hospital to complete an assessment. I have to admit we were anxious but the manager immediately put us at ease. He was patient and understanding. Listening and explaining, despite having a number of questions for us.

The process was made so easy. Mum has just moved in, and so far, I cannot fault all the staff. The facilities are amazing, but the staff exceed expectations. Nothing is too much trouble. I feel that they really care.
