The accommodation in the care home was five star with all the comforts of home and more. The quality of food was outstanding and the menu well thought out. The staff were very caring and always on-hand to offer 1st class care. I highly recommend this care home.

I have been very impressed by how genuinely caring all the staff are. This is a brand new care home, and is beautifully decorated, and has a lovely ambience. The rooms are very spacious by care home standards, and tastefully furnished. Being brand new, the number of residents is currently well below capacity, so it remains to be seen if the current very high standards can be maintained when there are a much greater number of residents to cater for - from experience so far I would fully expect this to be the case.

All staff were excellent. They really helped me in my time of need. Food was excellent, and standards were extremely high. All staff were excellent. They really helped me in my time of need. Food was excellent, and standards were extremely high. Following a broken foot on my arrival home I realised that it was not safe for me to be there while my partner was working away. In amongst my post was a leaflet re the mews. I called and arranged an appointment with the manager and arrived at the Braintree Mews Care Home - Avery Collection that evening. I work for the NHS now but previously ran my own care agency and had a lot of input into residential and nursing homes. Well done to all the staff a lovely place I would certainly recommend.

Hi, I’m Francisco, and I’m the General Manager at Braintree Mews.
I started my career in adult social care in 2016 as a Care Worker and have worked my way through different roles, including Team Leader, Deputy Manager and Home Manager. Having started on the frontline, I’ve experienced care from different perspectives, and that has shaped the way I lead a home today.
For me, good care starts with getting to know people. Residents should have a voice in their home, be listened to and have a say in the things that matter to them. I also believe residents should be involved in choosing the people who will support them, which is why I like residents to be part of our recruitment process where possible.
I’m a visible and hands-on manager. I like spending time around the home, talking to residents, families and staff and seeing for myself what day-to-day life is like. I don’t believe management should just be about sitting behind a desk and looking at reports. You need to know your residents, know your team and understand what is happening in your home.
I also believe in supporting people to do their best while being honest and accountable when things need to improve. A good team needs clear expectations, but it also needs a manager who listens, supports them and is willing to get stuck in alongside them.
My focus at Braintree Mews is to continue building a strong team, listen to our residents and families, and keep making the home a place that people are proud to live and work in.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my Cocker Spaniel, Cooper, getting outdoors, travelling, paddleboarding and spending time with friends and family.

My Names Matt Reeve, I have been lucky enough to be a part of Braintree Mews since we opened in 2023. When we opened Braintree Mews, I was originally at reception, where I worked very closely with our bank CLM.
