Thank you so much for the way you are dealing with the current coved-19 situation that you find yourself in.
I am always aware of the activities and positive experiences you provide the residents through seeing photos and videos on Facebook. It has also been a real pleasure to receive cards and a wonderful
knitted purple heart; thank you.
Seeing my husband dance with a carer was a real treat and gave such happy memories. Skype has been a great way to keep in touch during this lockdown period - even when he hasn't been too keen for a conversation, the carers have always been so willing to help to ensure that some connection is made. Thank you to the manager and all the Clayburn staff for doing such a difficult job so well. Keep safe.

My dad has lived at Clayburn Court since May 2019. During this time the staff have looked after him with love and care, even when times have been challenging. The carers have always greeted me with kindness and during this very challenging lockdown period have shown additional positivity and sensitivity
when speaking with me on the phone or when enabling me to say hello to my dad via Skype.
I am very grateful to all the staff who have made a very difficult and emotional situation a positive one. My dad is being very well looked after and for this, I am truly thankful.

I go to see my Mum and we chat about the staff's lives and what they are getting up to. She likes this, it provides inclusion to a family of carers. She likes carers coming to sit with her and chat, Mum would like more of this. She has strong views on her food, for example, sauces, portion, presentation
and amount. She gets frustrated at people not listening to her about her painful shoulder and heels. So my review is, overall this is a place I am pleased to call my Mum's home. For me, the most important issue is dignity in care, and she has this.

I have found Clayburn Court care home staff to be very helpful. They keep you informed when dad has a problem. My dad's room is clean and tidy, the food is good and the staff always make you welcome and dad seems to be settled.

My mother has been in Clayburn Court for two years. In all the time she has been there, I cannot fault the kindness and caring attitude of the staff. The whole place is absolutely spotless. If I do have any concerns, my view is listened to and acted upon promptly. Mum is extremely happy at Clayburn,
she settled in very quickly and called it her home straight away. I cannot praise Clayburn highly enough.

There have been some problems in recent months, but after a lot of hard work and the appointment of a new manager, things have noticeably been improving. I visit daily and it is good to come into a happy, friendly environment again. I think there is still work to be done in some areas, continuity of
staff and the food still needs attention, however change takes time and overall things are looking much more positive and I am sure all issues will be looked at and improved with time. Thank you to all the staff and keep up the hard work, it is much appreciated.

Too many agency staff, staff that are young and no common sense. Room tidied, but when I went into room armchair soiled with poo and a used, soiled pad left on the chair. 2 items of jewellery lost and then turned up a week later. Clothes that go missing or shrunk. New glasses go missing 2 days after
receiving them still not found a week later. Although one member of staff, in particular, is amazing.
Reply from Tracy Manzi, District Manager at Clayburn CourtClayburn Court is currently recruiting and it is regrettable that this process takes time. In order to ensure continuity of care, we access the services of a local agency. Whilst this is not ideal, please be assured that we ensure that we use the same pool of agency workers who are now very familiar with both the residents and the policies and procedures.

We are so sorry that items do sometimes go missing and we appreciate how distressing this can be for everyone concerned. Our new Home Manager is working with the team to improve all areas of the service including housekeeping and laundry. We would be pleased to meet with you at your convenience to discuss your concerns and the improvements currently being implemented.

I needed to put my aunt, who has dementia into respite over Christmas - a naturally emotional and upsetting experience, however, I was fully supported by the staff at Clayburn Court. My only comment is that I felt they needed to be a bit more comprehensive with the notes. If I should need a care home,
I would like it to be like this.

I spent two weeks in Clayburn Court and found it very satisfactory. For my stay, the provision of support arms on both sides of the toilet would have been very helpful. Also, the provision of a raised toilet would have avoided the need to bring in a plastic extension toilet seat, these units never fit
perfectly and feel secure. Likewise, the easy chair in the bedroom ideally would have been better if the seating height was 6" high.

Overall very pleased with everything at Clayburn Court and my Mum was very happy here for just over a year. On occasions, we were disappointed with the food and lack of relevant activities and outings but really I have nothing to complain about. The staff are generally lovely and were so kind to Mum
throughout her stay at Clayburn and she regarded them as friends. During her last few days and after her death, Mum was treated with amazing care and dignity and I felt supported, which I very much appreciate.

The cheerful concern showed by all the staff has been exemplary. I was delighted by the welcome and the understanding shown. Clayburn Court is well equipped and it is clear that a great deal of thought has gone into the organisation and the arrangements. The atmosphere is very pleasant and I was
delighted by the way my mother settled in so quickly. The staff and management are exemplary and take pride in the fine work that they are doing.

My father arrived at Clayburn Court in February 2016. He has dementia. The staff have really got to know Dad and understand his needs. They are all so friendly and caring. Nothing is ever too much trouble. He is so happy in the home and I am sure the care he receives everyday has helped with his dementia.
The home is clean and the food fantastic. As said, the staff are what makes the home fantastic and both my sister and I would like to thank everyone.

My mother-n-law and father-in-law became residents at Clayburn in January 2016. The care and attention to detail for their initial move was second to none. Their continuing care has been exemplary, helping them to adjust to a new environment and different way of living. The staff are extremely friendly
and professional. The facilities are excellent and a varied programme of activities offered. I have no hesitation in recommend this care home.

Clunky insensitive and bureaucratic assessment process gave the impression managers were new to the job and inexperienced. Home had very few service users and few staff.

Currently unable to take alzheimers/ dementia patients who need checks more than two hourly. No pressure mats/ movement sensors

for service users.

Nice new home but pretty empty. Small outside seating areas next to roads
Nice staff and nice cakes

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.764)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.764) out of 10 for Clayburn Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 27 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.764 for Clayburn Court is calculated as follows: ( (272 Excellents x 5) + (37 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (5 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 322 Ratings = 4.764
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Clayburn Court is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
