Staff have been fantastic during the past year. Mum has been well looked after and every effort was made to keep her connected to her family, sorting out her iPad and Zoom get-togethers was never a problem. Throughout Mum has remained contented.

We are very happy with Clayburn, from the cleanliness to the helpful and friendly staff we could see that our dad was made to feel at home straight away. Staff have always kept us informed of his needs and well being.
Over the last few months, our dad’s dementia has worsened and he now requires full-time nursing care which sadly the home does not provide, so it is with great regret he is having to move somewhere else.
Dad's behaviour has been incredibly challenging and we know he has at times physically hurt the people caring for him. Despite his behaviour staff, have never complained and always been very caring and professional for which we will always be amazed and grateful.
We would recommend Clayburn to anyone needing care for a family member.
Dad's illness has been difficult for all of us to come to terms with but we have always felt in choosing Clayburn he has received the best care we could possibly find for him.

A big thank you to all the amazing staff.

I would like to thank the manager and all the wonderful staff at Clayburn Court Care Home for the amazing work and care you have given to my Mum over the last few months. I can only imagine how incredibly difficult it has been for you given the ever-changing circumstances, guidance and rules. The staffs' resilience plus their polite engagement with the relatives has been remarkable. It's amazing how happy everyone has looked on FaceTime - even with most of their faces covered!

I'm continually impressed by the care and attention staff give to the residents. We are always updated when there is a change in medication or any health issue at all, even minor.
The staff take care of every aspect of my mother's health and well-being in a professional, detailed, documented way and, as such, it's a much better service than the one she was receiving in her own home.
This level of commitment has been particularly apparent during lockdown where, despite the challenging circumstances, staff have continued to do all they can for the residents.

My mother has thrived at Clayburn, she loves having people around and interacting with them and I commend and thank the brilliant staff there for all their hard work.

My friend has been in Clayburn since the beginning of this year, it was traumatic, her husband of 71 yrs had died and she had to leave her much loved home amidst her worsening dementia. Clayburn, together with its staff, have been very supportive and caring, the residents are individually cared for, they are involved in activities suited to their individual needs. The building itself is light and airy.

Thank you so much for the way you are dealing with the current coved-19 situation that you find yourself in.
I am always aware of the activities and positive experiences you provide the residents through seeing photos and videos on Facebook. It has also been a real pleasure to receive cards and a wonderful knitted purple heart; thank you.

Seeing my husband dance with a carer was a real treat and gave such happy memories. Skype has been a great way to keep in touch during this lockdown period - even when he hasn't been too keen for a conversation, the carers have always been so willing to help to ensure that some connection is made. Thank you to the manager and all the Clayburn staff for doing such a difficult job so well. Keep safe.

My dad has lived at Clayburn Court since May 2019. During this time the staff have looked after him with love and care, even when times have been challenging. The carers have always greeted me with kindness and during this very challenging lockdown period have shown additional positivity and sensitivity when speaking with me on the phone or when enabling me to say hello to my dad via Skype.

I am very grateful to all the staff who have made a very difficult and emotional situation a positive one. My dad is being very well looked after and for this, I am truly thankful.

I go to see my Mum and we chat about the staff's lives and what they are getting up to. She likes this, it provides inclusion to a family of carers. She likes carers coming to sit with her and chat, Mum would like more of this. She has strong views on her food, for example, sauces, portion, presentation and amount. She gets frustrated at people not listening to her about her painful shoulder and heels. So my review is, overall this is a place I am pleased to call my Mum's home. For me, the most important issue is dignity in care, and she has this.

My mother has been in Clayburn Court for two years. In all the time she has been there, I cannot fault the kindness and caring attitude of the staff. The whole place is absolutely spotless. If I do have any concerns, my view is listened to and acted upon promptly. Mum is extremely happy at Clayburn, she settled in very quickly and called it her home straight away. I cannot praise Clayburn highly enough.

There have been some problems in recent months, but after a lot of hard work and the appointment of a new manager, things have noticeably been improving. I visit daily and it is good to come into a happy, friendly environment again. I think there is still work to be done in some areas, continuity of staff and the food still needs attention, however change takes time and overall things are looking much more positive and I am sure all issues will be looked at and improved with time. Thank you to all the staff and keep up the hard work, it is much appreciated.

Too many agency staff, staff that are young and no common sense. Room tidied, but when I went into room armchair soiled with poo and a used, soiled pad left on the chair. 2 items of jewellery lost and then turned up a week later. Clothes that go missing or shrunk. New glasses go missing 2 days after receiving them still not found a week later. Although one member of staff, in particular, is amazing.

Reply from Tracy Manzi, District Manager at Clayburn Court

Clayburn Court is currently recruiting and it is regrettable that this process takes time. In order to ensure continuity of care, we access the services of a local agency. Whilst this is not ideal, please be assured that we ensure that we use the same pool of agency workers who are now very...

I needed to put my aunt, who has dementia into respite over Christmas - a naturally emotional and upsetting experience, however, I was fully supported by the staff at Clayburn Court. My only comment is that I felt they needed to be a bit more comprehensive with the notes. If I should need a care home, I would like it to be like this.

I spent two weeks in Clayburn Court and found it very satisfactory. For my stay, the provision of support arms on both sides of the toilet would have been very helpful. Also, the provision of a raised toilet would have avoided the need to bring in a plastic extension toilet seat, these units never fit perfectly and feel secure. Likewise, the easy chair in the bedroom ideally would have been better if the seating height was 6" high.
