My father was at Clayburn Court Care Home for over two years and in August he passed away, the care and support from the staff and manager were amazing, I was welcomed and made to feel a part of their family at this difficult time. The care my father had from staff was above and beyond, they made his
last final days so memorable, celebrating not only his 100th birthday, the first one at Clayburn, but taking my father to an RAF airfireld for his 101st birthday is truly wonderful. The staff attended my father's funeral in September and even provided the wake at the care home. To all those purple angels, thank you, your kindness and care will remain in my heart forever, not only as I know you will miss my father but I also will miss being a part of your family. Clayburn Court, may you all continue to be recognised for the dedication and hard work you all do on a daily basis. Thank you so much.

Making the call and arranging a care home for my dad at Clayburn Court Care Home and then speaking with the member of staff in reception about viewing and a tour of the care home facilities. She made us feel comfortable and welcome throughout the tour. She is a credit to Clayburn Court Care Home.
Upon
the call from another member of staff who arranged our assessment for my dad and meeting her on our first day arrival at the care home and meeting the manager and assistant manager have made the whole experience stress free, the staff came and greeted my dad and made him welcome and made the transition comfortable and relaxed for him.
I would highly recommend this Clayburn Court Care Home to anyone that has to find a care home for their loved ones, this could be stressful and a worrying time for family members but the staff here are a credit to the management at Clayburn Court Care Home, polite, courteous and very friendly and very welcoming.

Mum was a resident at Clayburn following discharge from the hospital. The staff were fabulous. They managed to encourage her to become more mobile and supported her well whilst there. The building is bright and airy and Mum enjoyed some of the activities provided.
The staff were responsive and very
helpful. The team leader was super, efficient, personable and very caring and engaging. Helped Mum settle and reduced her anxiety. The staff are gems doing a very demanding job. Mum moved from Clayburn to a home nearer family. Thanks to all staff who provided care to Mum during her stay.

Just the best home by miles. The interaction with the residents is amazing. No one wants to put their loved ones in a home but when you can't cope at home then knowing they will be loved and cared for puts your mind at ease.
Just the best team and best managers.

My mother is 91-years-old and has been a resident at Clayburn Court Care Home since January 2019. The physical care and emotional support she has received from staff at the home has been outstanding. However, I know my mother does find her room a bit cramped whenever she has more than one visitor and
her social interaction with fellow residents has at times been difficult.
Reply from Jaqualine Nzara, Home Manager at Clayburn CourtThank you for taking the time to review Clayburn Court and we are pleased you rate our facilities as excellent. We are sorry your mother finds her room smaller than she would like. All our rooms are designed with sufficient space for residents but we would be happy to discuss moving furniture and other items where possible within the room. We will continue to liaise with your mother when activities are taking place in the home and we will leave it to her discretion if she would like to take part.

I am very pleased with the care and attention given to my husband. All members of staff have supported and encouraged him in many ways.
They give him opportunities to do small household tasks to help him feel at home. They provide activities to keep him active.
I have seen he is fit and well and I
am assured he is eating well.
Throughout the pandemic, they have done everything possible to ensure that all residents remain safe.
Their organisation of visits by family members, although restricted, has been excellent.
I am aware that my husband is treated with respect by all members of staff.

With Covid it is hard to do a review correctly as we have never had the opportunity to look round and find out. Although we appreciate how hard the current situation is and how hard everyone is working - the window visits are very hard with so many distractions and noise and we feel that they don't
work well for us visiting.
Reply from Jaqualine Nzara, Home Manager at Clayburn CourtThank you for taking the time to review Clayburn Court and we are pleased that you rate our overall standard as good. We adhere to government guidelines regarding visits to our care home. Following recent changes to these, we are pleased to be able to offer alternatives to window visits, such as a screened room visit or LFT room visits. We would be happy to discuss our visiting options with you at a mutually convenient time.

We are extremely pleased with the excellent care my mother has been receiving since coming to Clayburn Court in Autumn 2020. We are always kept very well informed and are consulted on any issues. Regular newsletters, Facebook updates and Zoom calls. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Lovely, modern,
bright rooms kept exceptionally clean and lots of food choices and activities for residents. Would not hesitate to recommend the care home to others.

We are very happy with Clayburn, from the cleanliness to the helpful and friendly staff we could see that our dad was made to feel at home straight away. Staff have always kept us informed of his needs and well being.
Over the last few months, our dad’s dementia has worsened and he now requires full-time
nursing care which sadly the home does not provide, so it is with great regret he is having to move somewhere else.
Dad's behaviour has been incredibly challenging and we know he has at times physically hurt the people caring for him. Despite his behaviour staff, have never complained and always been very caring and professional for which we will always be amazed and grateful.
We would recommend Clayburn to anyone needing care for a family member.
Dad's illness has been difficult for all of us to come to terms with but we have always felt in choosing Clayburn he has received the best care we could possibly find for him.
A big thank you to all the amazing staff.

I would like to thank the manager and all the wonderful staff at Clayburn Court Care Home for the amazing work and care you have given to my Mum over the last few months. I can only imagine how incredibly difficult it has been for you given the ever-changing circumstances, guidance and rules. The staffs'
resilience plus their polite engagement with the relatives has been remarkable. It's amazing how happy everyone has looked on FaceTime - even with most of their faces covered!

I'm continually impressed by the care and attention staff give to the residents. We are always updated when there is a change in medication or any health issue at all, even minor.
The staff take care of every aspect of my mother's health and well-being in a professional, detailed, documented way and,
as such, it's a much better service than the one she was receiving in her own home.
This level of commitment has been particularly apparent during lockdown where, despite the challenging circumstances, staff have continued to do all they can for the residents.
My mother has thrived at Clayburn, she loves having people around and interacting with them and I commend and thank the brilliant staff there for all their hard work.

My friend has been in Clayburn since the beginning of this year, it was traumatic, her husband of 71 yrs had died and she had to leave her much loved home amidst her worsening dementia. Clayburn, together with its staff, have been very supportive and caring, the residents are individually cared for,
they are involved in activities suited to their individual needs. The building itself is light and airy.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.764)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.764) out of 10 for Clayburn Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 27 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.764 for Clayburn Court is calculated as follows: ( (272 Excellents x 5) + (37 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (5 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 322 Ratings = 4.764
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Clayburn Court is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
