Everyone has been so kind and helpful. No complaints whatsoever. I would recommend Cooksons Court to any of my friends who needed help. Where to start? My wife spent the last months of her life here. The staff are absolutely amazing, I feel that they welcomed my wife and treated her as their family, she was loved and looked after in an amazing way from start to finish, as like myself and all other visitors. I really cant thank them
enough, so supportive and helpful, kept us all informed of day to day changes all the time, more importantly showed my wife love and care. No words can ever express how amazing the staff are, even down to the cleaners, thank you so much.

My mum has been living at Cooksons Court for nearly 5 years and sees this very much as her home - somewhere to continue living her life and not just a 'care home.' The staff are amazing across the board - always a smile, always there for the little things as well as the big things. It's difficult trusting
others to look after your loved ones on a day to day basis when you're not able to, however when we leave Mum we do so knowing she's happy and cared for.

My 86-year-old mother spent a little over a year in Cooksons Court as a resident. During this time, the entire staff showed such kindness, humour and professionalism in looking after her that I had absolutely no concerns about her day-to-day care whatsoever. Mum thoroughly enjoyed the food and often
commented on how lovely it was. Her warm, clean and comfortable room had patio door access to the well-maintained garden. The home's activities were frequent and entertaining, so much so that I had to plan my visits around them, lest Mum miss some! Sadly, Mum passed away after a short illness. The kindness, respect and compassion shown to her and the family by the staff during this stressful time was superb. I can’t thank everyone at Cooksons Court enough.

The professional and difficult care by the staff during my Fathers last few weeks of his life was excellent. Cooksons Court were extremely sensitive and supportive to my husband and I the day my Father died and I cannot thank all the staff enough.

My 92-year-old mother was sent to Cookson's Court, rehab unit (Pippin) by the hospital and initially, she was very reluctant to go into 'one of those homes'. She quickly changed her mind as the staff were all friendly and helpful and the food was very good apparently. She was only there for about 10
days but in that time she changed her mind about how she would be treated and the level of service that would be provided should she ever feel the need to become a resident.

My mother really enjoyed her time Cooksons Court, she enjoyed the social side combined with the entertainment. The food was really good, if she didn't fancy what was on the menu, they would get her something different. Sadly Mum's stay was never going to be a long stay and she was very ill but the staff
were excellent with her and treated her with great care and dignity. Everlasting thanks to all the staff from my family and me.

After a successful clinical outcome at the hospital after a stroke and subsequent Covid, - Cooksons Court rehabilitation centre proved to be an excellent experience and motivator for my husband. He is now home and making daily progress.
The communal areas are spotless and homely.
The physiotherapists,
nurses, HCA‘s and office staff are friendly and reassuring.
The whole package from the amazing doctor at the hospital to Cooksons Court confirms my lifelong belief in our NHS and care services.

My mother has been extremely well looked after, I think she does feel very satisfied with her care. The only feedback I would say is that when she arrived here from the hospital at short notice, I was unable to be there and it would really help if relatives had a point of a designated person they can
speak to as I didn't know what the score was and didn't like to both busy staff.

Mum spent nearly two years in Cooksons but receiving nursing care. Although she suffered with advanced dementia, she always commented on her enjoyment of meals, the quality of her care and her surroundings.
We think that throughout Mum's journey from pre-admission from hospital to end-of-life care,
Somerset Care should be credited with excellent care provision.

Mum was admitted for palliative nursing care from hospital. I cannot recommend Cooksons Court highly enough, and as a social worker, I have seen lots of homes.
The room was clean and bright but the care she received promoted dignity and a personal touch, I felt I could trust them to do a good job.
The gold standard meant that when she died, everything was arranged and so caringly.

The food I rate six out of ten and the service was excellent. My mattress was uncomfortable. My room/bathroom was kept beautifully clean and so was everywhere. The staff were extremely helpful and cheerful over all levels. Thank you. Excellent. P.S. my waitress was replaced as soon as I complained.

My 98-year-old mum spent several weeks at the rehab unit at Cooksons Court Care Home following hospital stays after falls. She was treated with kindness, respect and dignity. All the staff are a credit to Somerset Care. They went over and above to secure a permanent place in a residential care home
nearer to her family and their devotion to their resident is second to none.

Cooksons Court Care Home is airy, bright and spacious. The staff are very friendly, courteous and respectful. They have been extremely caring and thoughtful in supporting my father as he adjusts to moving from his home and being dependent on full-time care.

Job Title: Registered Manager

My name is Kristie Chubb and I am the Manager at Cooksons Court. I have worked in care for over 22 years and started as a Community Support Worker providing care in the community.


I’ve gained invaluable skills, knowledge and qualifications over the years and learnt from some great Managers. These experiences have made me the Manager I am today, providing quality care to our residents and welcoming families in to our home.


Teamwork is very important to me as everyone that works at Cooksons Court has an important role to play to ensure that our residents live the life they choose. I am very passionate and proud of what we all do, and it is important to me that we continue to be the best we possibly can.
