Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge. Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible.

The dining room is bright and airy with a good menu to suit all tastes. The patients are encouraged to take part in the many activities that go on every day. During the summer there are parties in the very extensive and well looked after gardens. The patients are taken down for a walk or in their wheelchairs.

We visited Dashwood Manor to see our lovely friend recently, and she has dementia. It was our first time visiting a care home, and we were surprised to see how beautifully managed the nursing home. The lady receptionist was very kind and took us to where our friend stayed. Everyone we met there greeted us with a smile. Our friend looks well and clean. Even her nails are coloured with her favourite purple colour. We had nice coffee and cake on our way back in their cafe for free of charge. When the time comes, I will definitely come to this nursing home.

This is a different class of nursing home. We moved Mum here in February after spending a year at a different home which we felt was not delivering the personal care they promoted. What a difference! The room was stunning, the bed linen was pristine and soft and the home just had the feel of a...
Unfortunately, Mum didn't get to enjoy this place for long, after developing an illness and passing away shortly after but I will always cherish the memory of sitting with her in the cafe area, both enjoying a latte from a proper latte mug rather than a plastic beaker and her enjoying life as a human and not as a patient. My mother was only at Dashwood Manor =for the final five weeks of her life, but she was looked after with great care, kindness and professionalism by everyone there. At all levels of the staff - managers and care staff alike - there is a real sense of "the residents come first", and they certainly rose to the challenge of helping me and my mother through those final sad weeks. The home is big and bright and modern, and offers a wide range of facilities and events - my mother was not really able to enjoy these, but clearly, for residents who go there in better health there is much to enjoy. I have seen a number of other care homes in recent years, but this is the best. I am most grateful.
Each staff member I have spoken to or seen at work is outstanding. For them, it is clear to see how passionate they are towards your company and the residents who they care for. There is no other care home that even came close to Care UK, which gives me comfort each time I come to visit.

My aunt was in hospital after breaking her pelvis, she was unable to walk and very poorly. She lived 40 miles away and I was suddenly faced with being totally responsible for her care when the hospital wanted to discharge her. I walked into Dashwood Manor and my prayers were answered. I was met by some very caring staff who showed me around and provided answers to all of my questions. They liaised with the hospital to take over every aspect of her care. The facilities are fantastic, more like a luxury hotel than a care home. The bedrooms are very thoughtfully and tastefully furnished and decorated. My aunt has received excellent nursing care and is so much improved following her arrival at the home. She is very happy, thoroughly enjoys her food and has transitioned from living in the same house for 90 years to life in Dashwood very successfully. Thank you, Care UK!

The staff all seem very attentive. Always willing to help if necessary. Sometimes need to keep her more occupied to stop her wandering about and disturbing other residents. Good at contacting us about things. Hopefully, the new medication will help with anxiety.

I believe that being a Home Manager is about creating a warm environment, not only for residents but also for those who work in the home or visit.
I joined Care UK because I appreciate their culture and ethos of supporting residents to live fulfilling lives.
Ensuring compliance is at the forefront of my work at Dashwood Manor is an important part of my role, but I also like to be involved in the day-to-day lives of the residents and team. Seeing their smiling faces gives me a big sense of achievement.
If the team are happy, this reflects on the residents. I’m proud to work with incredible people who want to make a difference in people’s lives. It’s fantastic when this hard work is recognised. In a previous role, I won awards for Manager of the Year and Dementia Team of the Year.
Outside of work, I love to travel with my husband. Travelling is very important to us. Family is equally important, and any spare time is spent with my granddaughter.
