We had to find respite care for Mum at short notice before Christmas and dropped on our feet with Elm View, which is on our doorstep. The manager was so helpful by admitting Mum very quickly, seeing how stressful her plight had become for the family. In our opinion, the lovely culture of the place flows from her leadership style. The home is brand new and has every possible amenity, including a nice garden and patios around the building. There is a good range of activities on offer too. Although Mum found it hard to settle in the first few weeks, she has warmed to the place, including the excellent food and she now has an appetite she last had thirty years ago! The best and most important thing is the quality of the staff, who are very friendly, genuinely caring and efficient in going about their work and many have made firm friends with Mum.

Based on experience so far we would not hesitate to recommend families to consider Elm View.

The staff are very friendly and accommodating at all times. The food is always excellent with fruit and snacks always available. The care is very good. My dad sadly has various health issues which are dealt with promptly and he has access to a doctor and district nurses as and when needed. His medication is regularly reviewed. My dad is an extremely early riser and the staff have happily accepted his routine assisting him whilst still promoting his independence and treating him with dignity. Nothing is too much trouble. There is such a calm atmosphere in the home and my dad loves all the varied activities on offer. In fact, I have to work my visits around them! He really feels involved and valued attending resident's meetings and is soon to be involved in an environmental group which is right up his street. I really appreciate the continued support from the manager who has an open-door policy and is always on the end of the phone.

Elm View Care Home is beyond all expectations. The staff and management go above and beyond to make sure that Dad receives the very best care and attention. This extends to our family too and we are listened to and supported at all times. Elm View Care Home is clean and modern with the very best facilities and we couldn't ask more for Dad - a real home from home. Dad hasn't been at the home very long, having settled in near the end of last year but we already know we have found the right place for him. He has said on several occasions that it's a lovely place. Elm View Care Home is everything we could wish for and more.

Mum moved into Elmhurst 7 months ago. The new Elm View is extremely comfortable, very clean and modern. The facilities are wonderful. However it was the standard of care for our mum that was most important - and that has been excellent. Mum is treated with respect and kindness at all times. She enjoys the company of others so being involved in quizzes, bingo and activities is important for her. The exercise class is one of her favourite activities!

Mum has settled into her new home and we are very grateful for everything the staff do for her.

My mother moved into Elmview in Oct 2023 and she has just blossomed. The activities she is exposed to and the tender loving care of the staff and the manager have been second to none. Initially she didn't want to go but within two months of settling in her latest comment was: 'I have kind people around me all day, the carers are very warm and loving. The exercise classes especially are brilliant.' A singer comes and entertains and someone always accompanies me for a walk each week. The meals are very nice and my room is always kept clean.

As a daughter, I couldn't have provided the care, attention and personal needs my mother needed but Elm View has been remarkable. I visited many other homes but decided to wait for a bed at Elm View. If you are worried or concerned about finding a loving, caring and professional care home, look no further, Elm View is beautiful and has surpassed all my expectations. Thank you all.

We recently moved my Father from an existing care home in Cambridge that had fallen way below what we as a family felt was acceptable care for our Dad. It wasn’t an easy decision to make as he was our first consideration and the possible negative effects of the move.
We needn’t of worried, the manager and her team of wonderful people have made the transition a seamless one and welcomed my Dad as though he were family. What’s always struck me most is the manager's attitude and attention to detail with regard to those under her care. It’s seemingly a rarity to find these days in my experience of searching for quality care for our father.

The home staff are always attentive and caring but above all respectful of his needs and communication is fantastic. Elm View is a 45-minute drive from home and we were concerned about the distance, we needn’t have been, each time we visited we felt increasingly assured that the decision to move to Elm View was very much the right one! Thank you everyone.
