Overall Experience

With both Dad and step-mum suffering from dementia, the whole team at Townsend Manor have been truly amazing. When our Dad was getting frail and time passed everyone assisted the family with everything including passing away peacefully in-house. The professional care but with a family feel really helped Dad and helped our step mum along with our own family feel at home and cared for. Everyone from management down, goes above and beyond a care home facility, keeping everyone involved and part of their family too. Such a kind, caring and proactive team. I couldn't thank them enough for everything.

My son and I were recommended to try the Townsend Manor Care Home for giving nursing care to my husband when our carers and I were finding his disability difficult to manage at home. He went in on October 8th and was shown a room which was ready for him to occupy. He was bedbound but was looked after with good care and support and treated with dignity and respect. After being given a new catheter, he developed a urine infection and was treated at hospital. He went back to the home but was very frail. He slowly went downhill and was readmitted to hospital from where he did not return.

Would not hesitate to recommend the home.

This is a beautiful, well-managed home, welcoming to visitors and a pleasure to visit. This whole place is well-furnished except I feel there is a shortage of space (provision) for personal possessions, especially in the shower room and very little hanging space for clothes.

Overall Experience

My father moved into Townsend Manor in December, just before Christmas, and from the first step in, he has felt at home. The transition went better than we ever could have imagined, and we are so happy at how happy he is. The staff are absolutely amazing; they really do go above and beyond, they are so accommodating for every need, answer every question and always make time. In the short few months, my dad has been part of their family, I now feel they are all very much part of ours, and they really do care for him like he is one of their own. They even listened to how much he missed playing pool, and he now has a little pool room for himself and the residents; little things like this go a really long way. My biggest fear was security, but within the first day, I was at ease, and I know my dad will not and cannot wander and 'escape'. I also now am able to visit my dad as his daughter and no longer feel I am his carer, and we have a much better quality of time together in snippets. Thank you all.

Excellent facilities and spotlessly clean. All staff are friendly and professional, nothing is too much trouble. Visitors are made very welcome and offered refreshments. The on-site hairdresser is very good. Plenty of activities and residents are encouraged to join in both on-site and excursions. Very reassuring for relatives to know many of the carers are nurses and the doctor attends weekly.

My parents stayed in Townsend Manor for two weeks. I can honestly say the care was amazing from all staff. The staff went way beyond not only their care for my parents but concern for the rest of the family's wishes too. The home itself is to a very high standard and I could not recommend it more highly.
