We found the care home beyond expectations, from top to bottom, the staff treated her with love, care and attention, which gave us peace of mind. Her demeanor changed and with her limited capacity, she started to laugh, sing and recite poetry from her school days. Her passing, although sad, was treated as if a dear friend died. The attention she was given was second to none. So you might have gathered our review of Engelhard Lodge is of the highest caliber. 5 stars.
Thank you so much for your kind words. R was a pleasure to look after, kept us on our toes. We always looked forward to your visits, and we are extremely happy that we keep in contact
Engelhard Lodge is a very caring, friendly and homely environment. The management was always very informative, and the level of care was excellent. All the carers are warm, friendly and professional.
Thank you so much, it a pleasure looking after mum, even though it was only a short period
The last thing I wanted was Mum to go into a care home without the care she deserves. Engelhard Lodge have supplied this at a high standard. The Staff and Owners are always friendly and Mums diet and Medication seem well managed. The home is always clean and comfortable with plenty of room. There is a very nice Garden space so lovely to sit out on a warm day.
Thank you to all At Engelhard Lodge.
Mum is a very important part of our community, we love her dearly
I visit my Mum she's content, comfortable and happy. The staff are brilliant, they're super friendly and approachable often taking time out for a chat, and they always make you a cup of tea/coffee whilst you visit. They communicate regularly and send a monthly news letter which is fantastic, something you can share with other family members. The team should be very proud
Thank you so much Chris for your lovely words, BY is a pleasure to look after, she is so sweet and funny and is always making us laugh with her stories.
The home are caring and thoughtful and although my mum can be difficult they treat her with dignity and patience. The staff are also very caring and treat her like one of their family. The management team communicate brilliantly with us.
Thank you Andy for you kind words, mum can be quite challenging at times but she can also be very sweet and a pleasure to look after
My mum has been so well looked after for several years. She really appreciates the care she receives as well as enjoying the efforts made to entertain residents and regular celebrations for all sorts of occasions. The regular newsletter is an excellent way to keep families up to date with what's going on and the home is generally very welcoming to visitors (unless they understandably have to quarantine briefly for residents safely). Staff are lovely and the rooms are always fresh and clean - all credit to the whole team!
Thank you Hetty, thank you for your kind words mum is our Alfa female in the home and is highly respected and loved by the staff, it's always a pleasure when you visit.
My mum is now in her fourth year at Engelhard, having been one of the very first residents to move in when it opened. It was chosen by social services after an extended hospital stay. Whilst the search engine results gave me initial cause for concern, I was pleased to find the home had no connection in staff, ownership or management with the previous home that operated at the site some years previously. Lynne and her staff run a very clean, welcoming home where you are always offered multiple hot drinks when you visit. It isn't an exaggeration to say it has the feel of a boutique hotel or high end retirement village. Although dementia has been an incredibly cruel turn of fate for my Mum I will forever be grateful that she has found such a caring environment in these last few years.
Thank you Daniel, mum is definitely part our family, when l think about our journey opening the home, mum is definitely part of that journey, we deeply regard her as family
My mother has now been at Engelhard Lodge for a few years and yet again I cannot recommend the home more highly. The Manager and staff care for her with compassion, dignity and respect and always go above and beyond in their duties. We feel part of the "Engelhard Lodge family too each time we visit as are always welcomed at any time. The home is always immaculately clean and beautifully presented yet feels really homely. The activities provided for residents are varied and regular Newsletter and social media posts are a great way for the families of residents to see what goes on. It is absolutely evident that the residents are happy and very well cared for. Thank you again to the Manager and to all staff at Engelhard Lodge for another fantastic year of care - you are exceptional in my book and deserve well above a "Good" rating!
Thank you Tula, mum is a very special lady, which shows by having an amazing family. Thank you for your kind works greatly appreciated
I cannot express how grateful I am to the staff. They are kindness personified; so infinitely patient with my mum, whose mood can alter unpredictability; and they really make the effort to understand and respect her 101 years!
Thanks to the staff, I have regained peace of mind. It means so much to me to be able to visit Mum in the immaculately clean environment where everyone is friendly. I must add that the huge investment made in the garden is really appreciated: it is a haven to look at and to sit in.
Thank you so much it is a pleasure looking after mum, she is a real character and keeps us on our toes, we love her like she was our own Grandmother. X
What can I say... since the first day my Mum became a resident at Englehard Lodge, the staff have shown nothing but care and compassion. The home is spotlessly clean, and the services provided are exceptional. There is always a warm and friendly atmosphere, and all of the residents, despite various conditions and ailments, seem settled, comfortable and happy to be there. I rest safe in the knowledge that all of her needs are taken care of in a safe and caring manner. Hats off to the owners and managers for such a brilliant job.
Thank you so much Justin, it's always a pleasure looking after mum
I am my niece's power of attorney and found this home for her over a year ago after her mental decline following a diagnosis of Alzheimer's.
We visit her regularly and interact with the care staff and management during these visits and via email correspondence. These interactions have always been without incident and we are pleased with the care, cleanliness and professionalism of the care staff.Hydration and diet have never been a concern to us. We have noticed how our niece looks well nourished since her care started here.
Medication issues seem well managed.
We are aware of the upgrade to the gardens at this home over the past year which look outstanding, a great environment for the elderly to enjoy warmer times safely in the new garden. It is refreshing to see a private home investing in the future.
It is a pleasure to look after H
This has been her second festive season with these caring owners and staff who give the residents a 'home from Home' feeling to each and every day.
Their inclusion of friends and relatives and the welcome they give us all helps to make us feel happy and secure about leaving our loved one in their care.
Thank you so much Joanna , we love looking after C
The staff here are all wonderful, they are kind, friendly and very welcoming to the family when we visit.
They go out of their way to provide a safe and comfortable home for the residents.
My mum enjoys the food, which is very good. This year mum stayed for her Christmas Lunch which she really enjoyed. I was able to pre book the tulip lounge this Christmas, so that mum could have space to open presents with the family and her great grandson, which was very special.
There are opportunities for residents to participate in activities:- craft, cooking, puzzles and games, with the occasional visit from musicians who provide entertainment and a chance for the residents to join in.
There is a lovely garden which when the weather permits, provides somewhere for residents to sit and enjoy the outside.
Thank you so much Susan, it is a pleasure looking after mum and seeing you and your brother most days
My Mum has been so well looked after at Engelhard Lodge. The home is immaculately clean and the residents always look well cared for & happy. Nothing is too much for staff, they are always welcoming and take time to talk to you. I know that my Mum is very happy there and cannot find any faults with the home at all. I am so pleased she is in a safe, comforting environment and so well looked after.
Thank you so much Nicky for your kind words mum is as always a pleasure to look after
Fantastic experience from the start when we had to find emergency care for my father at short notice. The staff were welcoming, friendly and very informative providing us with all the information we needed to make this sudden move for our father.
Thank you for your kind review - we appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback. It was our pleasure to care for your father.
The home is clearly, very well run and exceeds the CQC rating of "good". End of life care was delivered to an exceptionally high standard. We are grateful for everything.
Thank you for your kind review - we appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback. It's truly our pleasure to care for your relative.
The staff were really caring even though my aunt was not the easiest person to please. They were patient and they really took the time to carry out all her needs. They popped in for a chat when she was feeling a bit down and soon had her laughing. They encouraged her to come out of her room and they were there with help if she needed it.
I can't thank them enough for their care and support and would recommend the care home to anyone looking for themselves or for a family member.
Thank you so much for your lovely words, it was always a pleasure when you visited. We miss P even though she kept us on our toes. Pop in anytime would love to keep in contact.
My father had only a short while in Engelhard Lodge before he died, but the care and love he received there and the effort the manager and staff went to in order to accommodate his needs were well beyond my expectations. I only wish he had overcome his fear and agreed to live there much sooner. The home is fresh and clean with a very welcoming atmosphere, if I ever need to go into a care home myself I would love it to be this one. My family and I were particularly impressed by the food provided and the varied menu. We also appreciated that the carers treat residents with great politeness, respecting their privacy and dignity.
I was so glad that my dad was able to die peacefully in such a warm, friendly, place with excellent care rather than in hospital. I asked him two days before he died if he felt safe and happy there and he replied. "Oh yes!" We are all thankful to this lovely home.
Thank you so much for your kind works. Even though Dad was only with us for a short it was a pleasure looking after him.
Mum moved to Engelhard last October 24 and she has settled in really well. The care, kindness and support she receives from all the dedicated staff is fantastic. Management all the staff are to be congratulated on all they do for all the residents. Visiting is always a pleasure. Well done Engelhard Lodge.
Thank you so much for your kind words, it is a pleasure looking after mum.
My mother in law was a resident at Engelhard Lodge Care Home for over two and a half years and in all her time there we were confident to leave her in their care. She was happy there and even with her progressive dementia she was treated with genuine love, respect and care. We were able to visit her at any time and always informed and included in any decision making about her well being. When she died, the respect and love shown for her and to the family was genuine and moving.
Thank you so much, it was always a pleasure to look after your mother-in-law, and a privilege begin with her on her final journey.
