Engelhard Lodge Care Home offers residential care in the village of Cawston, only around 11 miles from Norwich. It is a 4 award winning Home.

The home has 36 bedrooms, each with en suite facilities. Residents are welcome to bring their own belongings to help them settle in to life at Engelhard Lodge, and the team will do all they can to make the move to the home as easy as possible for both residents and their loved ones.

The team of care professionals are experienced and knowledgeable, and all staff members undergo consistent training on the best care practices. They offer care for a variety of needs including dementia, mental health conditions, old age and physical disabilities, always following up-to-date, personalised care plans designed for the individual resident.

The home is all set on one floor, making it easy for residents to move around as independently as possible. There is also a lovely garden to enjoy, as well as light and bright living areas for residents to socialise or spend time with loved ones. Visitors are always welcome, and the team work hard to make sure families and loved ones are able to enjoy the time they spend together at the home.

I have used Engelhard Lodge Care Home for respite care for my husband, who has dementia, for over three years now and always feel he is in safe place that will look after him whilst I catch up with some rest. The rooms are always clean and the staff are very pleasant when we visit.

This care home provides a clean hygenic and vibrant environment like no other I have seen. The staff are outstanding. They are polite, helpful, cheerful and professional and very attentive. They wear uniforms and are well presented.
My mum was moved here a few months ago and she has thrived being
in a calm caring atmosphere. However, it is not only my mum that has thrived, but for myself I feel 100% supported by everyone I speak to and any queries or concerns are always met in a supportive understanding manner and dealt with quickly.
I no longer have to worry about my mum and whether she is getting the care every human deserves because I know she is.
I feel that the staff listen to me as much as they do her and the change in her proves to me that the move was the right thing for all of us. I am so pleased to have been recommended this care home.

Lovely friendly home. My mum has been at Engelhard Lodge Care Home for 18 months. She is always clean and tidy in appearance and is well looked after. Staff are very caring and her health and well being has improved since she moved in. I never have to worry if she is being well looked after as during
my visits she herself speaks highly of the staff and all they do for her.

Mum moved in on 6th October and has now settled in with the outstanding care, food, hygiene and staff politeness.
The home stood out a mile when me and my brother first inspected in September and the way everything was smooth and mum's welcome has made us feel relieved and content. No more stressing
if mum was alright at home on her own.
There is such a big smile on mum's face when we visit and not just glad to see us but always saying what a wonderful place and staff.
Everyone who goes there loves it too and I and everyone have nothing but praise. We all look forward to visiting again.
The day rooms and bedrooms are so so clean too.

Excellent, friendly staff always make me feel welcome whenever I visit. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and mum tells me that the food is very good and it is like living in a hotel. The garden has been landscaped and has plenty of seating and is easily accessible to everyone.

I deal with a lot of care homes in my professional career and naturally I come across homes of all standards. I am pleased to say that Englehard Lodge ranks (in my opinion) as one of the top homes that I have to deal with. My friend is always treated with care, respect and dignity. The communication
between the care home and myself is always great. I am kept up to date, it is easy to come and visit my friend and I love receiving the newsletter so I can keep up with what is happening in the home.

I am always given a friendly and hospitable welcome when I visit. All the residents look very happy and content. The staff are caring, attentive and approachable. Our mum is now about to start her third year at Englehard Lodge and is still loving it. In her words, "It's like a 5 star hotel". Everyone is so friendly and all the staff are very professional as well as being like a family. There's plenty for Mum to do, from flower arranging, crafts and cooking along
with games or just reading or watching TV in her room. We now have the peace of mind that she is being well looked after 24/7, and also can visit her far more often. Thank you to all.

My husband has lived at Engelhard Lodge for the last two months and is likely to remain there permanently and I cannot praise the manager and her staff enough for the excellent care given to him. My husband and I have been married for nearly 55 years and it has been hard for us to be separated after
all that time. However, it has been made easier for us by the care shown to us both by all the staff. Nothing is too much trouble. My husband and the home are kept spotlessly clean and the food is excellent. The staff always have time for us and all our family when they visit. I cannot praise them enough.

I have been so grateful for the highest standard of care, commitment and kindness shown to my father during his stay with Engelhard Lodge. Nothing was ever too much trouble and he was treated with respect and dignity during his stay. I would have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful care home

The diligence and care shown by all staff was high at all times and I felt assured of the care my father received. As a dementia resident with good mobility, this can be challenging for staff. The staff at Englehard kept me informed of how he was and how they accommodated him within the home.

Mother appears happy and well cared for. She is settled and looked after with care. When I visit I can see her positive response to the staff and there appears be reciprocal affection. When I ask her how she feels living at the home, she tells me the staff are kind.
I am always contacted promptly when
there are any concerns for her health and well being.
Because I live so far away the monthly newsletters with photos are gratefully received.

The manager and her team - and all the staff have been outstanding in looking after our mother this last year following her stroke. Especially in the last few weeks at the end of her life, they were extremely caring and compassionate. The home is bright, airy and cheerful and the residents always seem
occupied is some form of recreation, and the gardens are now a beautiful and quiet space. We couldn't have asked for her to be in a better home and are extremely grateful for all the help and care we received during a difficult time. Thank you.

On sourcing Engelhard Lodge we went and visited and met the care home manager. We felt a great warmth idyllic feeling. The home was spotless, with no horrible smells. On being shown around meeting very happy smiling and chatty residents. We were impressed. The rooms were amazing, we chose one for Dad
out of 2 vacant rooms which offered all his needs, warm and spotless and home from home. Dad joined the family at Engelhard where sadly only lived for 3 weeks, he settled in, all staff loved him. Thank you to all the staff for looking after Dad, we are in your debt.
