This is an outstanding home, staff are warm and caring, facilities are first class and the environment they have created for residents is the best that you could possibly hope for. There was no comparison to any of the other homes we had viewed before. When Grandma got a place and moved in, it was like a dream come true. For the first time in years, she was doing really well and had the 24 hour care she needed. We saw a huge difference in her and my mother was able to be a daughter again instead of her carer. The home welcomes all of us when we visit, dogs, children and all! The stunning gardens are wonderful to sit outside in summer and allow my children to have fun and be free to run around. Grandma has strong bonds with many of the staff which is wonderful to see. I can’t recommend this home and the people that work there highly enough. Thank you so much for all your hard work caring for her, it means the world to all.
I feel so confident about the care my Grandma receives at Eothen Homes. The staff are wonderful and have an amazing way of communicating with her. The facilities are amazing - the freedom she gets both inside and outside is great. It is always clean and well looked after, the food is excellent and overall I am so pleased with the care she receives.
It is difficult to put into words how much our family values the care and support that Eothen Homes, Wallsend provide for mum and us. Trusting a loved one to the care of others is challenging and I vividly remember the day in 2014, when mum went into care, as my most difficult and traumatic day. Over the next two years, both mum and the family struggled badly adapting to her new life. However, in 2016 we read about the imminent opening of Eothen Homes, Wallsend and their innovative approach to delivering care for those suffering with dementia. We attended an open day at the home and after listening to the staff and seeing the facilities knew that this was something very different and very definitely the right place for mum. Mum (and the family) were welcomed warmly and settled in quickly. Almost three years on I can testify wholeheartedly that all at Eothen remain enthusiastically committed to those original goals, delivering care of the highest quality in a warm and loving manner.
The care home is always clean and tidy. Staff are pleasant, courteous and friendly.
Couldn't thank the staff enough for the care and love they gave to my grandad. I will be forever grateful and can't recommend Eothen Homes enough to family and friends.
The food was fantastic.
Coming into the home unannounced on the day mam died (4.50am) I was touched to find the carer sitting in a chair next to mam's bed, holding her hand.
It is something I will find comfort from for many a day.
During her stay at Wallsend, I witnessed a level of care and kindness from all the staff to my mother which was far beyond my hopes and expectations and made my mother so happy.
Her stay was in one big happy family and those happy days will remain in my memory for ever.
Given the above she will be hopefully admitted full time soon
This is a fantastic care home. My aunt loved it from the first moment she moved in. The staff are friendly, caring and helpful. The facilities are second to none. My wife and I have just stayed in the guest room which is of hotel standard and we were treated really nicely by all the staff.
My Father visited my Mam nearly every day, he was offered lunch, cups of tea and cake every day. My Dad had so much praise and love for the staff in the home and everyone knew my dad. He thought the staff treated my mum with such care, love and kindness and had a piece of mind knowing his wife was taken care of. My Dad suddenly passed away in May 2017 and the amount of staff that turned up at his funeral was amazing, they came on their day off to pay their respects to him. He would have been delighted at all that was there. Our family couldn't thank them enough for the love and support they have given us and I know the extra love they are now giving my Mam. Eothen Home is the most amazing place I have ever been to and the staff are amazing I can't praise them enough, the love they give to all the residents is unbelievable and genuine keep up the amazing work you all do much love to you all.
Myself and my family have been extremely happy with my mother's care since she went into Eothen Homes Wallsend. The staff are very helpful and caring nothing is too much trouble anytime of the day or night. My mother seems very happy there and is settling in nicely. I hope she will be there for a long time to come.
Eothen Wallsend is a purpose built specialised care home and person centred planning is top priority at this lovely home. The staff are fantastic and have made the transition for my dad effortless, he has a fantastic rapport with all of them and nothing is too much trouble for them. It's a welcoming environment and the space both inside and outside for the residents is vast, the grounds are as beautiful as the inside. The residents are treated with care and dignity at all times and my dad's needs are met on a daily basis and it is a safe environment at all times. A home from home.
Eothen Home is a dementia specialist facility. The staff are trained to provide "light touch" care and are especially adept at de-escalating situations before confrontations or agitations occur. Treating residents with dignity is very highly prioritised in all aspects of their care. The staff are patient, loving and kind. The staff are very approachable and deal with concerns very sensitively in a supportive manner. The staff know the residents very well and your strong emotional bonds with them.
My grandmother is treated as an individual and the flexible style of care suits her and her transitioning mental state brilliantly. She can eat whenever she wants, walk freely and safely around the large grounds, engage in activities if she wishes and feels a part of a household family again. The home is spotless and the facilities are second to none. The staff understand how to care for the complexities of dementia and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to others.
