I am Roman I am the Maintenance Operative for Goldsborough Manor. Before the Maintenance roles, I was a Head Teacher of Art & Design, in the Art College and Academia of Fine Arts. In the United Kingdom, I have worked in general maintenance for 20 years since 2004. 20 years ago I worked in the biggest care home in West Yorkshire, Donisthorpe Hall. I started as the Maintenance manager but they asked me to use my artistic skills to design murals and art for the home. I created all the historical murals in the corridors of the home.

I was elected to the City of York Council in 2015 and last year was honoured to be selected to be Lord Mayor. In this role, I met so many amazing people who have made York the truly wonderful city it is.
I had a stroke in 2020, leaving me with a weakened left side and a determination to show that everyone can live their best life.
