The modern purpose built care home means there is no comprimise in facilities for the care of residents. The staff are very helpful and dedicated to resident care. The bedrppms are well equiped and views over Ayr are stunning.

Our father in-law stays for respite, he loves the care and experience. We asked for notes of his stay and we received this, so we could communicate with him about the stay.

We moved into residential care two months ago, following some health issues. One of us had already been here for respite care. When we visited, we were impressed by the welcome and the facilities, and that we were remembered. It is set on a hill with extensive views of Arran and the Clyde Coast, built in an L-shape on two floors, a dozen bedrooms on each wing. At the end of each corridor there is a small lounge offering splendid views, and in the middle is a larger lounge leading to a private garden or terrace. The dining rooms and cafés are in the longer arm opening onto the garden or another terrace. The corridors have natural light, softening the institutional appearance. The rooms are well-proportioned and tastefully decorated. What makes it special is the staff, working as a team. Each resident is frail to some degree, and I am amazed at the care taken to accommodate and manage this. They work hard to create a real feeling of community. Greenan Manor is outstanding.

I couldn't recommend Greenan Manor highly enough. My mother lived there for two years with gradually worsening vascular dementia and she deteriorated physically too. However the staff, every single one of them from every department, was caring and did everything they could to make mum comfortable and add enrichment to her life. It wasn't easy as at times she didn't want to engage but they always worked round what she would do or enjoy.
Physically it is very comfortable and appears more like a good hotel, with excellent private facilities but it also has lovely public areas which is great for the residents. The 'cafe' on each floor allows residents and their visitors to engage in a setting which gives the feeling of an outing.

However, the most important thing about Greenan is the staff. They genuinely care about their residents and spend time with them beyond the nursing and care responsibilities. Mum had a 'good' death, surrounded by loving care which extended to us, her family.

My mother was finding it more difficult to cope at home after her vascular dementia diagnosis...we initially enquired at Greenan Manor if she could possibly stay on a respite basis for a few weeks as my mother and father in law had both stayed for a few weeks and the care they received was excellent.

It was arranged that my mother should initially stay for 2 weeks but the care and support she received from Joe and his team was outstanding and the change in my mother's mood and demeanor was incredible...my mother is now a full time resident at Greenan Manor and she has a quality of life she would not have if she was anywhere else.. As a family we can't recommend Greenan Manor enough it truly is a class above any other care home that I have visited.

My aunt resided at Greenan Manor for nearly 18 months. A new manager came in about 6 months after my aunt was admitted and the staff group then became much more stable, and staff training seemed to feature more heavily. When my aunt was first admitted there seemed to be poor communication between staff and one had to repeat the same information on multiple occasions. Though there were always caring staff, after the management changed the staff group became engaged, interested, caring, supportive and responsive. This applied to care staff, but also to hospitality staff, catering staff, entertainment staff, administrative staff, and management. Staff take responsibility and address issues raised, even if the matter does not relate directly to their responsibility.

There is a constant range of activities for residents to participate in, suited to the varying abilities and interests of the different residents.

Equipped to a high standard the home in some ways feels like a hotel

My sister came into Greenan Manor in August 2021. She came straight from hospital and was suffering from delirium. The staff were so kind and caring at all times. The delirium sadly went to more like dementia and she couldn't do anything for herself. During her time at Greenan - just over 2 years - I can truly say that she was well cared for. The staff were very kind and caring. As for Greenan Manor itself - it is a very well appointed place - looks more like an hotel than a care home. Beautifully appointed ensuite rooms, lovely lounges, nice dining rooms and a very comfortable cafe. There is also a very nice hair salon. Unfortunately my sister ended her days at Greenan. Over the last 3 days of her life the staff were excellent and loving towards her. They also took great care of my younger sister, husband and myself. We could not have asked for more. I would highly recommend Greenan Manor if anyone is looking for a care home for a loved one.

MY husband and I have been delighted with the welcome we have received in Greenan Manor. Every memberof staff has been tremendous and can't do enough to make his stay here as comfortable and happy as possible. Nothing is a problem to them, no matter what time of day. Recently the local GP was required and attended during the night.
Support from staff has been above and beyond expectations as recently we had a memorable motor sport presentation for my husband in the private dining facility set up by the staff. A lovely memory to cherish. Greenan Manor is certainly a home from home.
The day to day variety in the menu for every meal is something to look forward to and always nicely presented and tasty. It is wonderful to be able to dine with my wife when desired. or celebrate events in the private diningroom or used the cafe with visitors.

The facilities are wonderful too. The ability to have a varied activity time table with the use of a cinema and cafe is wonderful.

I'd like to highlight the wonderful care and humanity my dad got at Greenan Manor in his final months. The management and staff are a credit to the organisation. The period of the last week, my sister and I were bedside constantly and I cannot emphasise enough the genuine care and love we felt from the staff throughout. They went so far above and beyond their remit to ensure we were looked after and my dad passed peacefully and with dignity. We won't forget that and it's hugely appreciated.

Greenan Manor is an excellent nursing home. My mum has got some strength back after a few days in hospital and several weeks at home where she was mainly bed-bound. I sleep better knowing that my mum is safe in Greenan Manor during the night as she requires assistance from staff overnight. She is now able to walk with her zimmer. Hopefully she'll be able to walk with her stick soon!!

Dad was admitted to hospital and as sole carer for my Mum and we had to find respite care quickly. Subsequently we put Dad in for end of life care at Greenan Manor to be with Mum. The home is very people centric and have been so accomodating to my parents needs. The gardens and views are fantastic, the interior decor/fabrics and placement of chairs allows for a pleasant, calm and engaging atmospere for both residents and visitors. When we visit the staff are always very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. They have treated my parents with dignity and respect at all times which allows us great peace of mind.Testament to their care is the fact that my Dad's health has improved to such an extent that both parents should be home in a few weeks. Without their intervention the result would likely have had a significantly different ending. I would very much recommend this care home and it would be my first choice if/when my parents require full time care.

The staff at Greenan Manor were wonderful with my dad who came in for 8 days respite care. They were helpful, kind and considerate from reception right through to nursing staff.
