Harrington House is situated in the market town of Bourne and offers residential care in a comfortable and friendly environment.

Staff work hard to ensure residents feel at home and are cared for as well as enabling them to maintain their independence as much as possible.

All of the rooms have a nurse call system and residents can bring personal possessions to make their room really feel like their own.

There are TV aerial facilities in the bedrooms so residents can have televisions and telephones in their rooms if they wish.

The garden is colourful and vibrant and can be enjoyed by residents and their visitors.

The staff are all great and do their absolute best for my Grandma and all the residents. However, there have been significant staff shortages which has been filled with last-minute agency staff. This makes things difficult for the staff and the residents, as there is sometimes much less cover than there
should be. This leads to long waits when my Grandma needs to go to the toilet, causing her to wet herself more than necessary. I would highly recommend the owners to think seriously about putting more resources into hiring experienced carers on a substantive basis.

We have always found staff at all levels to be caring, helpful and very professional in the 3 years Mother was at these premises. We always found the same was given to us when visiting and we always felt comfortable in the environment. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Harrington House to any future
people who were considering placing a relative in care.

This was our first experience of the care home system. And wow - what an experience!
Every single member of staff is so, so lovely. Everyone is very friendly, very kind and very helpful. The way they interact with residents is wonderful. And it's not just the residents they care about and look after.
They extend this to family members too. The last few months have been a very stressful and emotional time for me. Many members of staff have offered me a listening, understanding and supportive ear and sometimes even a hug! They feel like friends I have known for years! This is every bit as valuable as the care they provide for the residents and I will never be able to thank the staff enough for everything they have done for both me and my mother. She has had to move to another care home now which is closer to her family and friends. But her final comment was 'I wish I could take all the staff with me!'
I cannot recommend Harrington House and the staff highly enough!
Thanks to everyone.

My dad was brought to Harrington House. The care he received is excellent. You would never get a better team, they are all fantastic. The food is fantastic and the staff are a credit to this home. I really can't say anything bad at all and I will recommend the house to family and friends.

I would like to say how enjoyable my stay here has been. Everyone from cleaners, kitchen staff, laundry, carers and office staff have treated me with kindness and dignity from what at the beginning for me was a very stressful time. Their patience and encouragement has helped to get me home once more.
I would recommend your home to anyone who is reluctant to leave home to live or recuperate. Well done. Once again thank you to everyone.

I came to Harrington House with a fractured wrist and fractured knee, with no weight bearing, so I could not do anything for myself. The care I received at Harrington House was absolutely excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely and all home-cooked. The house and rooms were kept
spotless. All the staff and management have been wonderful and because of this it has helped me to make a full recovery with their help. Thank you.

My mother unfortunately has mobility issues, getting to the point where she couldn’t walk. Mum entered Harrington House in May 2023 leaving in July 2023, and from the moment she arrived to leaving, she was never treated with anything other than respect.

This also goes to how they treated me whenever

I visited the care staff were always welcoming, and always on hand to put my concerns at ease I rarely had any anyway!

They concentrated on helping mum walk again, and succeeded, mums walking will never be the same as 20 years ago but she is home now and walking around aided and unaided!
Mum also had memory issues and confusion, this is undiagnosed but we believe it is obvious however they always were so kind and respectful!

From the Manager to the rest of the staff they all worked towards the same goal, ensuring the residents have as comfortable lives as possible, honestly, none of them get paid enough!

Thank you Harrington House, 100% will recommend it!

My husband has been a resident at Harrington House Care Home since the end of March 2023. The manager and all the staff are excellent. They are very caring, enthusiastic, hardworking and encouraging. They are aware of the needs of each resident and are always proactive in encouraging them to have a
good experience every day and to mix with other residents. If a resident is upset, members of staff will sit with them and listen to their worries and try to help in any way they can. The staff are always friendly when I arrive. I know my husband is receiving the best care. He is getting stronger and is now able to walk a short distance with a wheeled walker. I am looking forward to him returning home in the not-too-distant future. I would definitely recommend this care home.

The transfer of mum to Harrington House was handled very well by the managment of the Care Home. Everyone was, and still are most considerate, towards mum. All the carers treat mum, and visitors with respect and dignity. They are a very friendly and helpful team. I am particularly impressed that there
is a choice of main meals for the residents. Again, the catering staff are first rate. Everyone takes an active interest in mum and from what I see, the other residents also. I would have no hesitation in recommending this to other potential users.

What a fantastic job the manager and all the staff did during the transition from another care home to Harrington House Care Home. My mam had various visits before the move to get familiar with the new premises and once the move took place she easily settled in. A brilliant job well done by all!

First BBQ for family and friends since Covid. Lovely atmosphere. The food and company were excellent. The raffle raised over £1300 - brilliant. An entertainer sang, encouraging us all to join in. Residents seemed to enjoy having their families join in all the songs. Obviously, a lot of work was completed

Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.041)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.041) out of 10 for Harrington House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.691 for Harrington House is calculated as follows: ( (64 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 81 Ratings = 4.691
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.35 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Harrington House is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 8 = 0.75
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
