Harrington House

My sister has been a resident since January and has received the best care we had hoped for. All the staff are lovely people and have been very friendly to us. We can't recommend them enough. Thank you!

I have found the staff very tentative towards my mother, she is still well looked after and has settled in very well since she was admitted in March 2023. She has a lovely bedroom and outlook. The carers interact with her with bingo, singing and other activities. She seems very happy there.

My husband has been a resident at Harrington House Care Home since the end of March 2023. The manager and all the staff are excellent. They are very caring, enthusiastic, hardworking and encouraging. They are aware of the needs of each resident and are always proactive in encouraging them to have a good experience every day and to mix with other residents. If a resident is upset, members of staff will sit with them and listen to their worries and try to help in any way they can. The staff are always friendly when I arrive. I know my husband is receiving the best care. He is getting stronger and is now able to walk a short distance with a wheeled walker. I am looking forward to him returning home in the not-too-distant future. I would definitely recommend this care home.

The transfer of mum to Harrington House was handled very well by the managment of the Care Home. Everyone was, and still are most considerate, towards mum. All the carers treat mum, and visitors with respect and dignity. They are a very friendly and helpful team. I am particularly impressed that there is a choice of main meals for the residents. Again, the catering staff are first rate. Everyone takes an active interest in mum and from what I see, the other residents also. I would have no hesitation in recommending this to other potential users.

I am so impressed by all the staff who continue to work tirelessly for the good of the residents. Thank you. My mam is in very good hands! This gives me peace of mind being two and a half hours away.

The whole staff and team were totally exceptional in the care and well-being of my elderly father. They are all a total credit to their profession. Heartfelt thanks to them all.

First BBQ for family and friends since Covid. Lovely atmosphere. The food and company were excellent. The raffle raised over £1300 - brilliant. An entertainer sang, encouraging us all to join in. Residents seemed to enjoy having their families join in all the songs. Obviously, a lot of work was completed by all staff. Well done.

All the staff are very caring. Food is lovely. Visitors are made very welcome.

Staff are lovely, very helpful and answer all questions that are asked. Mum loves it there and is very happy, she has really come on since being there for six months. We wish that we made the choice long before. Would definitely recommend Chevington House Care Home.

My father used the reablement service after a fall and time in hospital. They were amazing, letting us visit and spend time with him. They worked with us to get him home for Christmas. The food was amazing and everyone was so lovely and caring. Just what he needed to build himself up for home.

Over the past year, my father has suffered with Covid-19 and was hospitalized. Without the staff at Chevington House, I seriously doubt if my father would still be with us.

With care homes opening up for family to visit, I made my appointment. Everything I needed to do was explained thoroughly. I got a pre-test done, had to also have a lateral flow test and full PPE was worn. I couldn't have wished for a better experience in the first meeting with my mum. They made sure Mum has her hair set, and she looked lovely. I couldn't wish for better carers looking after my mum. Love them all.

Chevington House has a very friendly and caring atmosphere, it feels so warm and welcoming when you walk in. Nothing is too much trouble.

My dad had 3 months in this care home and loved it. He found the staff hard working and very caring. Always treated with respect and dignity. He loved the good home-cooked food. He is back in his own home now, but would not hesitate to go back in if his circumstances change.

Excellent staff. Cheerful, caring, I would be more than happy to recommend. Very sad to hear they are in special measures - super surprised. It's the best care home I've visited, not on looks but 'care'.

The staff at Chevington are extremely caring towards residents. I am confident my grandad is looked after and safe in their care. The property is a little shabby in parts and could benefit from some improvement. The food is always very good and the residents are clean and tidy. The only criticism we have had is with the office/accounts department. On several occasions, our bills have been miscalculated and costs are higher than some alternative homes in the area. Overall we are very happy with the home.

Chevington House staff are excellent with looking after my mum. She has been here 4 years and could not fault the care she gets. I would not want her to be anywhere else.

Since taking residence here, we have never seen my Mum more at home. She has been here over a year now and she is looked after extremely well. The food is excellent and I feel the worry for myself, my family and my Mum has been taken away by such a well run family orientated home. It is like a 5-star hotel. If Mum had not been here, it is for certain she would not be here today.

My Godmother has been in Chevington House now for three years. I cannot fault the care she has received over this time. Because of her dementia, she is a very difficult patient but has been treated with dignity and compassion. The staff have been nothing but loving and professional to me and my Godmother.

All the team at Chevington House have been fantastic regarding the care of my mother who has been recently diagnosed with mixed dementia. My mother has had a complex case after falling ill with UTI over Christmas which re-surfaced in January - care has been fantastic, team are caring and responsive to my mother's needs. I will be looking to place my mother as her illness deteriorates in the future.
