My mum relocated to Heath Lodge following a hip replacement. From the first day I found the care to spot on. She needs quite a bit of personal care assistance which is provided with great care and respect. It takes skill and patience to do this without causing distress. Mum has quite bad dementia although she has great humour about her. However they are well able to deal with quirky conversations. Oh, and they make a great cup of tea - essential for mum!
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We genuinely appreciate your feedback as it helps us to understand where we can improve and enhance the experience for our residents. I'm so pleased to hear that you found the care to be 'spot on' and that your mother was treated with care and dignity. i will certainly ensure your feedback is passed onto Hazel and her team.
The experience of visiting Heath Lodge was excellent. This very much includes the combination of both carers and residents. Along with the environment, location and space - Indoors and out. During a visit over many days, the experiences was one of harmony, perhaps uniquely found within a holistic elderly care environment. The kindness, compassion and communication of staff was very apparent and appreciated. The home is modern, new and designed with much deep consideration for its users. It felt closer to a comfortable retreat with well designed rooms and communal spaces located around an outdoor space with excellent potential. New trees, blooms and accessible flower beds are a continuous process, informed and inspired by residents ideas. Sitting out in the sun you'd be forgiven for thinking you were enjoying a holiday. Restorative respite at its best. I left feeling confident family thrive at Heath Lodge
Thank you so much for your very thoughtful feedback. I know that Hazel and her team will appreciate your kind words. I am so pleased to hear that your experience of Heath Lodge and its services was a very positive one.
Considering the cost I think the standard should be better,
There were no managers available over the weekends which is very surprising
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback regarding your experience. Of course we are disappointed that not all of your expectations have been met and as we take all feedback seriously, please be assured that your comments will be discussed with our team. I can advise you that...
I can now say, without a shadow of a doubt that Heath Lodge is an absolutely fantastic Care Home in my opinion. I visit my mother a couple of times a week and after the initial settling in period, which is always tricky with dementia, she is now very happy. All of the staff are friendly, caring, polite and calm, they seem to genuinely care and know every resident well. The meals are delicious and mum always clears her plate (as do I when I join her for lunch!). There are daily activities which are varied and stimulating. The bedrooms are beautiful, my mother's has a door onto the enclosed garden which she loves. I genuinely can not fault this place and rave about it to my friends. It is such a relief to know my mum can spend the rest of her life in such a luxurious Home.
Thank you for your very kind feedback and I am pleased that you have found Heath to be the right home for your Mother. It is always a very daunting experience finding a new home for our loved ones, our team understand this, and they do their very best to make every day special. I will certainly pass on your feedback to our team.
My father's dementia and occasional falls were making his ability to stay at home tremendously concerning. He moved into Heath Lodge and it was immediately obvious that this was the best place for him. The staff have been brilliantly understanding right from the initial meeting through to the present. My father has found it hard to settle but this is by no means a reflection on the staff. His dementia does not allow him to recall any of the reasons for him being there as his short term memory is horrendous. However the continual reassurance and care that he receives from the staff along with strategies from the Manager have helped ease him into his new surroundings. Furthermore the constant awareness of health issues as they arise has also given me total peace of mind. They are very attuned to the needs of residents with the very many forms that dementia presents and the interaction is always suited to that individual residents needs. Very happy with what they do for us, thank you all.
Thank you for your very kind feedback. I am so pleased to hear that your father has settled into Heath Lodge and that you have the peace of mind that your father's needs are being cared for so well. I will certainly ensure your feedback is given to all the staff at Heath Lodge.
Heath Lodge is purpose built and the facilities are excellent, the rooms are furnished to a high standard as are the dining and lounge areas. Everywhere is always spotlessly clean and very well maintained.
All staff are professional friendly and very approachable.
You always get a warm welcome when visiting, I visit most days, and at different times. I always feel at home and I feel I'm visiting my aunt at home not in a home.
The quality and safety of care my aunt receives is excellent, all her needs are met, she is treated with dignity and respect, she is happy and content. I cannot praise the care staff enough.
I have observed wonderful interactions between residents and staff not just occasionally but continually. Staff put residents at the heart of what they do.
This is one of the best care homes I have visited.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this review of our home. The team work tirelessly to provide and best care and service to all our residents, families and friends. We always value everyone's feedback as it helps us to ensure and maintain the best care and service. I am so pleased to hear...
Overall Heath Lodge Care Home provides a comfortable home with lots of interesting facilities which I feel would be used more if offers of help to attend for those less mobile (2 wheelchair users were left at the end of an activity for approximately 45 minutes before being picked up). Morning coffee and afternoon tea/coffee often late and sometimes missed. Care varies, some rough and unfriendly. Food/meals delivered to rooms cold and not edible.
I would like to thank you for your feedback which we take very seriously. It is disappointing to read and that our standards were not as we would expect when you visited. We will of course investigate this to ensure we continue to provide the very best care and service.
I have been extremely impressed with the care that the staff are providing for my father-in-law who has late stage dementia. Due to his dementia, it has taken a while for him to settle in and understand where he is and why he is there. All staff have been unfailingly kind and helpful towards my father-in-law and also to my husband and I in making the transition from home to Heath Lodge Care Home. They have been proactive in making suggestions to help him settle in as well as about his various health needs. It is a huge relief to know that he is safe and so well cared for.
Thank you for your lovely review, I am so pleased Heath Lodge have been able to support your father-in-Law with his transition into care and he is now settled at Heath Lodge. The whole team pride themselves on delivering outstanding care and your review confirms the fantastic work the whole team do. Thank you.
Nothing was too much trouble and my father was very happy there and recovered extremely well and is now at home. I cannot rate the care home higher. I am so grateful for all they did.
Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us of your experience of the care and support you and your father received whilst your father spent sometime recovering in Heath Lodge. I am so pleased to hear that your father was very happy and had recovered well. I will ensure that the team are made aware of your feedback.
We have been hugely impressed with the accommodation and particularly the kind and caring staff. From June onwards the support and care offered has been exceptional- such a weight off our shoulders knowing Mum is in such good hands.
Thank you for your wonderful review. I am so pleased mum has settled in so well at Heath Lodge. Thank you for your kind words about the team, I will ensure your feedback is shared with them. Thank you.
My mother has been extremely well cared for by staff who showed kindness in all their interactions with her. My mother grew fond of many staff members. I felt supported by them. The management has been open to suggestions and has offered regular reviews of her care plan as her needs changed. In addition, they offered a welcome to visiting family and communicated with us when appropriate. They were also caring and in touch with health professionals when necessary. Overall excellent.
Thank you for your lovely review, I am so pleased you were so happy with the care. The whole team pride themselves on delivering outstanding care and your review confirms the fantastic work the whole team does. Thank you.
My husband was in the home for a short while, he was well supported by the caring staff. I joined him for lunch and the lunch served was wonderful and very tasty. This is more like a 5-star hotel and the management and staff went above and beyond to make my husband feel comfortable.
Thank you for your wonderful review. I am so pleased you enjoyed dining with your husband at Heath Lodge. Thank you for your kind words about our wonderful team, they all pride themselves on delivering outstanding care and offering a warm and friendly environment for both residents and their loved ones.
My husband stayed here for two weeks respite. Very pleased with the care he received and the staff were always friendly and approachable. He was made to feel at home and especially enjoyed the activities and cinema.

Senior managers always respond.
Our only area of improvement is that supper is served an hour too early, probably for shift patterns.
I do think the food could be better, it is nutritious but overlooked. I have noticed my father needs an exercise program to keep fit, losing muscle mass because of a lack of activities and stimulation.
Thank you for your review. I am pleased you are happy with the care your parents are receiving at Heath Lodge. We have taken your feedback on board around the areas you feel we could improve on and I can confirm Heath Lodge does provide a range of activities including exercises which all residents...
On contacting Heath Lodge their response was positive, supportive and very reassuring. It is a lovely modern home with spacious areas, easily accessible facilities and comfortable en-suite bedrooms. It was also a welcome surprise to find a care home designed around both the residents and their families, which feels, and is inclusive.
Most important of all it is staffed by a very kind and caring team of professionals who go above and beyond, nothing was ever too much trouble, and I shall be forever grateful that Mum was able to end her days being cared for in such a lovely safe environment.
Thank you for your wonderful review regarding the care your mum received at Heath Lodge, the whole team prides itself on delivering person-centred care to all residents and your review confirms the fantastic work they all do. Thinking of you and your family at this very difficult time.
4/52 respite care following a period of hospital admission for investigation. The staff are very nice and caring and one is well looked after. Uniforms for nursing staff vary in blue - more colour for senior staff.
My parents love the food and have found the staff cheerful, friendly and incredibly hard-working. Nothing is too much trouble and that goes for visitors too. It is no small way due to Heath Lodge that my parents are recovering well and will soon be back home, we can't thank the team enough.
Thank you for your wonderful review, it was an absolute pleasure welcoming your parents into Heath Lodge. We are so pleased they settled well and got the well needed rest they both needed. Please do not hesitate to contact us in the future if you require care for them. We wish them both all the best for the future and hope they continue recovering well.
My wife feels she is in a secure environment. Her needs are being met and her opinions are listened to. Overall a good experience with excellent carers. The ability to entertain family and friends to meals is particularly appreciated.
The care my relative received around her end-of-life period was exemplary. I am a nurse by profession and a retired CQC inspector and specialist professional clinical advisor and would rate the home as outstanding in the areas I observed.
Thank you for your lovely review and your comments about how you would rate the care your loved one received. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we are thinking of you and your family at this difficult time.

I have over 20 years of experience working in healthcare. I started my career in adult mental health before finding my true passion in elderly and dementia care. Once I found my passion, I was determined to become a registered manager of my own home and started taking steps to make this happen. With the support of my colleagues, I began to learn all aspects of becoming a registered manager as well as completing a dementia friends and dementia excellence course.
