Heath Lodge Care Home staff have been and continue to be very professional, empathetic and most importantly caring towards our Mother who took up residence early in Feb. Our mother's needs which in the first couple of weeks were very challenging due to the big change of circumstance caused her considerable
angst and upset. During this time every member of the team have showed her compassion and reassurance which has now enabled her to settle well into this very lovely residential home. She is beginning to take part in activities and building relationships with the other lovely residents.
The facilities on offer and flexibility for all residents is excellent, the staff are very caring always putting the needs of the residents first. All members of our family are made welcome when we visit which highlights the home from home, caring environment that the manager and her team have worked hard to deliver.

Heath Lodge is a new care home, I went to visit it before it had opened. Prior to my visit, I was a little concerned that I had no point of reference, this worry was allayed very quickly. It is beautifully set out, with small areas where the residents can sit and feel almost as if they are at home,
nothing like our traditional views of a care home. The rooms are well appointed, all en-suite, the corridors are wide and bright and airy, the dining area is set up more like a lovely restaurant but what really put my mind at rest was talking to the general manager and care manager. Every worry and concern of mine were put to rest, and I had a lot of them. Mum has been living with me for five years. She had become increasingly weak and my cottage was not ideal to manage her. She has mobility problems and a ten-year vascular dementia diagnosis. The transition into care has been effortless, she is very happy and I have absolutely no regrets, the staff are really lovely.

What a fantastic care home! I attended the opening event thinking we might need future respite care for mum, little did I know we needed that care sooner than expected! From the moment I contacted the manager we have been overwhelmed by the level of care, passion and support for Mum from all the staff,
they are a real credit to the company! Nothing is too much trouble, their attention to detail and interactions with the residents is second to none! Every resident is truly looked after with all their individual needs met in a beautiful homely setting. The cinema room and popcorn machine are an added bonus. Several friends and family have had very different experiences in other care homes, so we were feeling very apprehensive initially, but those feelings disappeared from the moment we dropped Mum off! I really cannot express enough how happy we are with the care being given to mum and also the great communication and support given to our family, thank you it’s very much appreciated!

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.751)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.751) out of 10 for Heath Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 27 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.751 for Heath Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (252 Excellents x 5) + (51 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 317 Ratings = 4.751
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Heath Lodge Care Home is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
