The Deputy Manager was so rude, finger-pointing, voice louder than normal talking, and not an ounce of respect. I can go on and on its not right to be treated like this, a very cold person. It happened on Monday 20th February 2024.

I have had concerns for some time having seen excrement in the corridors, and heard lots of shouting and noise. Residents have been threatened by others and recently during a phone call with my parent, I was told that she had been attacked, while 2 others had also been attacked, some had excrement whipped
all over their beds, walls and rooms.
The fact that these issues repeatedly crop up means that it is not dealt with and I fear for resident safety.
I was told that one of the 'violent' residents had been given notice to leave.
I don't know when that may take place - it may take months.
I work abroad so it is difficult to visit my parent. I understand that management has been informed and so I hope it is being dealt with before someone is injured. Also, there are other violent/disruptive residents that need segregating.
Reply from Stacey Dean Dean, Manager at Ivy CourtThanks for the feedback. I'm sorry that you feel this way, please feel free to call the home so we can discuss this.

On visiting my friend, I was so pleasantly surprised upon entering the home with firstly the decor, and the lovely welcome I got from the member of staff. The home has a welcoming feel and all the staff I met were very friendly.
My friend had a large well-equipped room, with a large ensuite wetroom.

We are so grateful for the wonderful care and kindness shown to Mum. The staff respected her dignity and her fierce independence so that she ended her life in the way she would have wanted. It was reassuring, as we lived so far away, when she said 'I am happy here, don't worry about me, they can't do
enough for me, get on with your lives'.

My mum's friend has recently just joined Ivy Court and this home is just fabulous, the staff really get stuck in and will help to do anything. The new manager has a great approach and really sits and listens and understands the residents. I highly recommend Ivy Court if you're thinking of a care home
for a loved one.

After Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia and a couple of trips to hospital, we were able to get Mum some respite at Ivy Court. She is fiercely independent and she often cried saying 'please don't put me in a home'. We tried to keep her in her own home as long as possible but after having a
couple of falls she became a permanent resident.
Ivy Court is unlike any other residential home we visited. It is more like a five-star hotel. It helped that the room layout was similar to Mum's previous apartment. There is a very comfortable cinema room and Mum's favourite on-site hair salon, simply stunning.
The staff are all so loving and caring and someone is always just a call away. Mum is now settled and everyone is her new friend. Thank you Ivy Court.

Nan seems very settled in her new rooms at Ivy Court. It's a fairly new home and everywhere is immaculately clean, bright and spacious. It's safe and secure and Nan can stay in her room or take part in things that are organised for the residents, like birthday parties for residents and Christmas fairs.
Nan was over the moon when staff took her a cake to her room with candles on, they were all singing to her.
Our family got permission for a mobile phone for her room so we can talk to her directly and she always tells us how well the staff are looking after her. Thank you everyone.

I have always found the staff and managers very professional at all times, they make everything run as smoothly as possible. They are always doing things, such as at Christmas, always promoting everybody's well-being. I wish to say that they always do whatever they can, any issues that arise they do
their absolute best to resolve them. I wish to say that, as someone who has worked in homes in the past, that they are simply the best, five-star at all times.

We took our time selecting which care home to choose for Mum and Ivy Court was definitely the best choice we could’ve possibly made.
The home is beautifully designed. It’s more like a hotel than a care home and the facilities are absolutely outstanding.
However, by far the best thing about the home
is the wonderful attentive and caring staff. I can’t speak highly enough about the care and support that Mum has received since becoming a full-time resident. Her health has definitely improved and she seems to be so very happy.
Thank you Ivy Court for making such a difficult time, go better than we ever could have possibly imagined.

This is the second time that our relative has had a short stay at Ivy Court, and we are all so happy with our experience. Ivy Court is an absolute lifeline for us - our relative lives in the North East, but whenever she needs a short holiday or there is a family occasion in Doncaster, Ivy Court has
provided a safe and lovely place for our disabled relative to stay. The rooms are beautiful, the facilities wonderful, and all of the care staff have been amazing. Our relative felt very safe and comfortable at Ivy Court, and we hope that there will be availability whenever we need it in the future. Thank you so much!

Mum had to be placed in respite due to a family emergency at very short notice. All I can say is that the level of professionalism, speed and care that we received was outstanding. The home, itself, is like a five-star hotel, with every little detail taken care of. It smells beautiful when you walk
in and the entire place is immaculate with non-stop cleaning taking place. I have extremely high standards but myself and other family members were blown away by this place.
The customer relations manager and another member of staff have permanently been on hand to answer any concerns or questions.
The staff are caring and friendly and made Mum feel at ease immediately, so much so that we are in the process of making this her permanent home.

I was so nervous about putting my mum in respite so I could have a carefree holiday, my mum loved it and the staff went above and beyond to make sure I was reassured that she would be well cared for, even texted me on holiday to let me know she had settled in alright. I can’t recommend this place enough,
it’s such a happy place and it’s so obvious they care about their patients and their needs. I feel completely confident that should I need their support again I wouldn’t hesitate to ask them for any respite I might need. Thank you all so much.

I was so pleased to find somewhere of the standard of Ivy Court Care Home for respite for my father. After visiting at least six care homes in the area and being disappointed that none came up to the standards that I had for my dad's care. Ivy Court is a bright and airy home. The staff go above and
beyond, nothing is too much trouble. They engage with every resident's personal needs. It is a relief to have found this home as I would not hesitate to let my dad stay here again in the future. Thank you all at Ivy Court.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.520)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.520) out of 10 for Ivy Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.520 for Ivy Court is calculated as follows: ( (208 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (19 Satisfactorys x 3) + (6 Poors x 2) + (11 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 277 Ratings = 4.52
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ivy Court is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 72 registered maximum number of service users is 14.4, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
