My father had to go into emergency respite whilst my mum had a cancer operation, we chose Ivy Court as another relative was there so we thought it would suit. It's never nice having to leave your parents in a home, but this one had a lovely airy feel. The staff were always helpful and friendly. As for
the management and office staff, they were all exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended!

Thank you! My wife has a wonderful time when she stays for respite. She loves the staff and the activities. She comes home refreshed and happy. Knowing she is with you, I have peace of mind that all will be well, so that I can enjoy some rest, and go away for a break.
Reply from Claire Hoyles, Customer Relationship Manager at Ivy CourtThank you for your kind words and for trusting us to care for your wife when you go for your much-needed breaks. It's always a joy to have her, she's always smiling and having fun taking part in all the activities.

Was probably one of the hardest choices I have ever had to make but was something that had to be done. After looking at various care homes, we finally chose Runwood Homes as they seemed to be the best ones in our opinion and we were spot on. Since moving to Ivy Court my mum has come on Leaps and bounds,
she has constant company, lots of interaction with other residents and staff. There is is always something happening there, whether it be painting, games, crafting, music and dancing, giving all the residents enjoyment and laughter.
Each resident has their own spacious room with en suite facilities, tv etc, the whole place is spotless. The staff here are a credit to Runwood Homes, their patience and caring manners are excellent, all the residents love them.
Just wanted to say thank you, for giving me piece of mind knowing mum is looked after.

Thanks

I have little experince in management, food and activities, hence can't mark them excellent. Mum has settled in well and is always very well presented and appears to be very happy.

This is a home that is filled with caring, demonstrative staff who have the best interests of residents at their heart. The layout, which provides easy, level walking, with engaging artwork and calming colours is excellent. Spacious, light, airy bedrooms with plenty of wardrobe space and wet rooms are
nigh on 4 stars. From the warm welcome and coffee mornings, to the careful engagement of the right staff and the strong leadership. Thank you for looking after my loved one.

Mum seems happy at Ivy Court, following the move from another home. We are very impressed with the place. The rooms, public spaces, and corridors are spacious and airy, and the decor is modern and pleasant. The standard of finish is exceptional, as are the facilities.
The manager, and the staff we
have so far met, are all wonderful. She runs the home efficiently and with obvious care and excellent oversight. It is clear that the staff we have met really care about the residents; The manager is passionate about making sure residents are comfortable and happy, and treated with respect and consideration.
It's great that there is a well-being coordinator and that she organises activities so that residents have plenty to occupy their time. Nothing is worse than seeing people slumped in chairs for hours on end, with nothing but meals to break the monotony.
It's sad that Mum has to spend her last years in care, but Ivy Court is super and we are thrilled that she is there.

We were absolutely astounded at the facilities, decor and attention to detail. Ivy court really is like a 5 star hotel.
What really matters though is the staff. They were all so kind, patient, caring and professional. They knew my uncle well, would joke and laugh with him. They encouraged and supported
him to do things when he couldn’t be bothered to do them, like get out of bed or get dressed. There was a wide range of activities and we were able to see my uncle on the Facebook page joining in and having fun.
As a brand new facility, of course there were a few minor teething problems, but these were quickly and professionally dealt with by the very efficient senior/management team.
As my uncle came towards his end of life, not only were the staff making sure he had everything he needed medically but they also showed deep compassion. They nursed him, held him and supported my elderly parents through this process. The family are eternally grateful.
Thank you so much

We would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff and carers and management as my mother-in-law had a two-week stay here for respite, and I can honestly say that this has made a huge difference as she was joining in with the activities and entertainment and actually felt safe enough and comfortable
enough to open up and interact, which is a huge difference and has made her and her moods since she's come home, She has also made it perfectly clear that that is the only place she wants to go for respite. When she's poorly and doesn't have the capacity due to dementia, she is adamant that is the only home she wants to go to, which for her, is a huge thing as she has always said she doesn't want to be in a home, and we really appreciate all the help and support we have all received from the staff too.

I am so pleased I chose Ivy Court for a respite stay for Mum. On my visit to Ivy Court, I was so impressed. The stunning facilities at the new build care home exceeded all my expectations. All the staff are kind, caring, respectful and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble. The customer relations manager
has helped me so much by signposting me to (a local dementia charity) that provides grants for respite. The home manager is so welcoming, and I thank all for allowing me a well-earned rest, knowing she is in safe hands.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.520)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.520) out of 10 for Ivy Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.520 for Ivy Court is calculated as follows: ( (208 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (19 Satisfactorys x 3) + (6 Poors x 2) + (11 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 277 Ratings = 4.52
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ivy Court is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 72 registered maximum number of service users is 14.4, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
