My mother is a resident since October 20201, and we have seen a great improvement in her health and wellbeing. The food is varied, and Mother speaks highly of the choices and good homecooked meals. The staff are all sociable, and nothing is too much trouble for them, giving quality care. Rooms are spacious and well equipped, modern and a homely feel. All in all, my mother is very happy there.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback; it is very much appreciated. We are pleased mum has settled at Kensington, and you may rest assured she will be extremely well cared for.
I can't praise the staff enough. We always get a warm and friendly greeting from them. They are professional, compassionate and very caring. They will do anything within their power for the residents and their families. I noticed a vast improvement in her health and well-being after only a few weeks of being there. The choice of homemade meals is very good, and having a hair salon is a bonus. The rooms are ample in size, modern and always clean. I would highly recommend Kensington to anyone. It gives us peace of mind that she is being well cared for.
Much appreciate your positive feedback. We are so pleased mum has settled in well here at Kensington and also developed a network of friends here. Thank you.
This was not just because of the high quality of the surroundings, home-cooked food, facilities like a hair salon that promote wellbeing. There is a very personal, individualised approach to caring for the residents. There is also a caring, compassionate, positive and energetic approach to providing this care which is tangible.
The home has excellent links with the local surgeries and community nursing teams which was invaluable for my mum when she received end of life care.
Highly recommended.
Thank you so much for your excellent feedback. It was a pleasure to care for your mum and it is also vitally important that we support families too. We are passionate about the service we provide and will continue to develop this beautiful home with a holistic approach to care delivery for all.
Thank you so much everyone for being there for Mum and all our family.
Thank you for your kind review. Your mum was a beautiful lady loved by us all at Kensington and will always be remembered with a smile. She was a true character with a lovely family who we all feel privaliged to have known.
How lovely to visit a care home that puts the care of their residents at the top of the list! Kind, thoughtful, caring staff with time for everyone, residents and visitors alike. A wonderful place full of empathy, happy residents, and happy staff managed with so much care. My friend was so happy here!
Thank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased to have met your special friend and although she wasn't with us very long she made an impact on us all and will be forever in our hearts.
This is the second review I have left for Kensington, but it will sadly be my last as my Mum passed away peacefully at the home this week. I just wanted to say how pleased we have been with the care and attention she received from the absolutely brilliant staff at Kensington in the final months of her life. While she was there she was as happy and content as I have seen her for some time, always ready with a smile and clearly enjoying the activities (and plentiful cakes) that the home provided. We couldn't be more satisfied with the service and care she got. I hope it's some significant time before I need it, but I'm putting my name on the waiting list!
Thank you Keith for your lovely review we are passionate about our care delivery and so pleased to have cared for your lovely mum. I have booked your bed!
Our mum was only at Kensington for a few weeks before she passed after years of age-related illnesses but she was so well cared for and treated with dignity by all the wonderful staff and management. We haven’t seen Mum smile for a while but since being at Kensington she was so happy and felt truly safe. The staff genuinely cared for Mum’s wellbeing. There are lots of activities to take part in and the food is nutritious and cooked with care. The chef would make up food for Mum if the day's choice was not to Mum’s liking. The building is lovely and beautifully presented. There are nice facilities such as a hairdresser/beautician room. Mum felt so much better having her hair cut and nails painted. The lounge is a delight with a bar area. The bar top has lots of delicious cakes to try.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is a pleasure to remove the stigma from care homes. We are passionate about the service we provide.
My mum was discharged from hospital to a care home that did not meet her needs. She was very unhappy and her health and well-being were rapidly declining. After 10 days I removed her as I had discovered the Kensington and was made to feel very welcome and assured that my mum’s needs would be met. I am delighted with how my mum has settled and in less than 2 weeks, she feels safe and is being extremely well cared for. The manager and her team are caring and nurturing, they are passionate about offering high-quality care. It makes a huge difference to know that my mum is settling in and beginning to smile again. I feel totally reassured that the Kensington is absolutely the right place for my mum and would like to thank the whole team for making us feel so welcome.
The Kensington is a first-class home. The rooms are beautiful, the food is nutritious and varied (the cakes are gorgeous!). There is a daily programme of activities, but best of all are the staff. Everyone is caring and professional and it is their positive, buoyant approach that makes the home so wonderful.
Overall a beautiful, friendly, well run care home.
If you choose Kensington for a loved one I’m sure you won’t be disappointed
How lucky we were to find the Kensington Care Home and all of its staff. I would not have believed the standard of care could be so good anywhere, but we were lucky to find this exceptional level of care at our time of greatest need. Mum was in the home for just a matter of weeks, however, she really enjoyed her time with the warm, caring, thoughtful, helpful and compassionate team of staff, who went above and beyond to provide individualised and special care to Mum, making her feel very much loved, looked after and at home. The manager and her handpicked team of staff shared values to provide the very best care and quality of life possible shone through at all times and I cannot recommend the service highly enough. This is a real asset for the people of Northallerton. Thank you, to the manager and every member of your fabulous team for taking us on board as a family and helping us in so many ways during this exceptionally difficult time.
He has been busy each day with wonderful activities, from theme days and quizzes to keep fit exercises. Mum can rest and recuperate knowing that her loving husband is happy and safe.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, we are so happy that your step-father is enjoying his stay with us. Also, that you as a family feel confident and happy with how our home is supporting your family. We understand very much the importance of making sure everyone is involved in activities...
They actually care about Mum as a family would do. My Mum's facial expressions and looks have all changed for the better we have got our mother back which is wonderful. Mum loves her regular trips to the salon for her hair and nails done and loves the chef who brings her meals which she really enjoys. Mum never had an appetite previously.
My sister was able to visit Mum in her room for the first time and said the rooms are beautiful and spacious. Thank you so much, to all of the lovely staff. We are so happy to know that Mum is having a lovely life.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, we are delighted Mum has settled well into our home. All the team at the Kensington feel as though we have built a warm, kind, caring and compassionate home. We truly like people to feel they are fully valued, respected and treated with the utmost respect...
My mother moved to Kensington Care Home, due to her dementia, she left another home which was an excellent care home, but it was becoming obvious as her dementia progressed she would need more care. As a home specially built for dementia sufferers she has blossomed, the activities are excellent, and the care is fantastic, she is very happy, and has made lots of new friends. The home is perfectly centralised, near to the hospital, doctors, dentists, and all amenities, unfortunately, my mother had a habit of running off on her zimmer, it was amazing how far she got but since she moved to Kensington, she has never tried to run away. Hopefully she has now settled down. I cannot thank the staff enough, especially the manager.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments. As a home, we try very hard to have lots of stimulating activities in the home, both in groups and one to one. Mum has settled in so well and seems to very much enjoy the homes atmosphere and activities. We are delighted that you feel Mum has settled well...
The staff at Kensington go above and beyond to make sure the residents are happy, well cared for and receiving a great quality of life. They have engaged my grandfather in activities that have helped him to be mentally stimulated and have provided a warm caring environment for him to live in. They continually provide updates on Grandad’s activities, health and well-being. It is clear to see the staff that work here have a genuine love for their job and are very caring people. All of this is especially important at present due to the current pandemic when we are unable to visit him. We feel reassured that he is well cared for, happy and safe, and we would highly recommend the care home to others.
Thank you so very much for spending the time to write and submit your lovely review, this means an awful lot to the whole staff team. We appreciate how difficult it is for the residents and their loved ones during the pandemic and we will always go above and beyond in supporting everyone. Your...
My Dad moved into the Kensington at the end of November. He is so happy there, the staff are wonderful, and as a family, we can see such a change in him, he has started to gain weight and has been joining in with the activities. I love going onto the Kensington Facebook page and seeing what he’s been doing. I also like that there is a stream and public walkway for him to look out on, which will be lovely in the summer.
Thank you so much for spending the time to write such a lovely review of the home and support for your dad. We are so pleased dad has settled in so well with us and is enjoying life to the full. The home is well situated for the residents to enjoy the gardens and surrounding area and we cannot...
The manager and her team have gone above and beyond what I ever wished a care home could provide. My grandad has worked hard all his life, and I am so happy that he is now in a care home he deserves, not only is it beautiful, but it is such a happy environment for elderly residents. Covid hasn’t stopped the events coordinator doing a wide range of games, baking and crafts. Seeing my grandad looking so happy on regular Facebook posts makes my day. They keep in contact with me and other family members on a regular basis as they understand how hard it has been for families being separated for all this time. I feel much better about the current situation knowing he is here surrounded by staff who genuinely care about him. I cant wait to be allowed into the care home when it is safe to do so to try out some of the beautiful afternoon teas I have seen photos of and meet my grandads new friends. Keep doing what you are doing team Kensington.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review, we will make sure it is fully shared with the home team. We all love what we do here and the staff will always go that extra mile for our residents and their families. We are honoured you chose our home and we are so very happy...
The staff are all very friendly, helpful and no request is too much. Communication is a little difficult at present, but my mother-in-law seems happy and settled. She says the food is lovely and she has put weight on!
Thank you so much for your lovely comments and such high ratings. We understand that visiting is difficult during the pandemic, but we are here to fully support the families and will help in any way we can.
My dad is one of the first residents of Kensington care home, what a difference it has made to his life, he is so happy and loves all the staff who look after him. Well done, I wish you all the best for 2021.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, we are so happy that your dad is enjoying his daily life with us at the Kensington. Our lovely dedicated and compassionate staff team are so caring and they love supporting all the residents in the home. When we see the residents happy, smiling and...
We moved my grandad to this home early December from another home, where he was very unhappy and had lost a considerable amount of weight. I cannot believe the change in my grandad straight away, he started eating again, so happy and relaxed and settled in much quicker than we expected. The manager is a lovely caring person and has employed the best staff who all have the same goal to give residents the best care. The care home is beautiful, bright and airy and furnished to a very high standard. My grandad has participated in so many activities already, which he has thoroughly enjoyed. We see photos of grandad daily through social media, so many friends and family have commented on how happy and well he looks compared to a few months ago. Nothing is too much for this care home; the team go above and beyond. Cannot recommend enough.
Thank you so much for your lovely review this means the world to us at the Kensington. We are so happy that your Granddad has decided to come and join us all. We are so pleased he is enjoying all the homes lovely environment, facilities and daily activities. It is such a pleasure to see your...
