Overall Experience
I have been overwhelmed by the positive experience of exceptional nursing, quality of care and level of compassion my mother has had in Kincairney. The values and attitudes of staff at all levels are outstanding, and the physical environment and programme of care are first-class. Other families I met confirmed my view that Kincairney provides a stimulating and empowering individualised care programme.
The pre-admission process was thorough and accurately identified my mother’s individual needs. Staff endeavoured to make the transition from home to Kincairney as seamless and personalised as possible. We were struck by the warmth and professionalism of the staff who welcomed my mother and my family.

Placing a loved one in residential care is a daunting prospect for any family, as it was for mine; however, I am so relieved and grateful we discovered Kincairney.

Were kindly taken in by Kincairney House and were made to feel instantly welcome. Mum has challenging mobility needs and the level and frequency of care she needs to be comfortable can be difficulty to manage. We needn't have worried. Management of care is fantastic with attentive, compassionate staff providing great support for residents, always with a smile on their face. Staff are happy at work, a consequence of a well managed unit with staff receiving appropriate break and rest periods on time. Happy staff equals happy residents. Menu choice and food preparation is fantastic, even the chefs here deserve praise for their relentless work, with standards very high. Communication between staff and relatives is excellent. Staff here go the extra mile to ensure that the needs of not just the residents are met, but of the families also. When Mum required a medical procedure in another city, I was worried about logistics, I needn't have worried, staff here arranged everything superbly for us, from transport right through to post op care. DO not hesitate to recommend Kincairney House for family or friends. Security is fantastic. I can't get out half the time!

Big improvement since the new manageress has taken over in January 2023.
My elderly father has Alzheimer's and mobility problems, he is well cared for and he is treated with the greatest dignity and respect. He is kept very clean and so is his bedroom etc.
The staff are all very kind, caring and engaging. The head chef talks to all the residents and finds out their likes and dislikes, he also takes time to speak to all the residents.
The meals are very good too.

I am glad I chose this care home for my father to spend his final days.

The worst experience ever! My mum was frequently found on the floor, with staff not knowing how long she had been there. The day before we moved her to a better home, she was found outside, trying to get back in. Staff didn’t know how it had happened either! Avoid this place.

We are very disappointed with this feedback and wholly dispute the accuracy of the statement. The reviewer was fully aware that her relative's needs had changed and therefore she was advised that Kincairney House could no longer meet the individual's needs.

First of all, I want to say how lovely the staff are, everyone! They have listened to any concerns and have acted. They are all coming through very tough times and have coped unbelievably well. My husband has settled in well. The great thing is I have been able to be with him as much as I have wanted, or been able to. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone.

More storage in rooms (drawers etc) would give an excellent. Activities are really hard when the dementia is really bad.

When I arrived, I was a little unsettled but the staff and management helped me to overcome this. The staff are always helpful and full of cheer. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent and always hot. I enjoy hot chocolate at bedtime and the staff brought some in for me and that was very much appreciated.

My mother was a resident at Kincairney House since September 2021 and was so happy with her care. Since viewing with my mother in June, we were instantly decided that this would be perfect for her after feeling she could no longer cope at home.
Shortly after arriving the manager arranged for a small party for mum’s 90th birthday. This gave us some lovely memories on such a special day which we as a family cherish as mum passed away peacefully on 22nd December.
We are sad that she didn’t get long enough to enjoy her new life at Kincairney House but comforted that her last 2 weeks were in such a caring environment.
Since mum took ill, her care was exemplary, personal, dignified and excellent. The family were well informed at every stage and felt very supported by all of the staff. It would have been so different if Mum was still at home.
The staff even walked Mum out of the home into the care of the funeral directors.

We are so grateful for all the support.

My mother-in-law has now had/having the best care. She is always clean/showered/washed with fresh clothing on when we visit her. She enjoys the meals (she says too much choice), gets cups of tea on demand and the girls are very good with her, helping her to look at photos that her grandaughters send her for her great-grandchildren who are hoping to visit in person very soon.

My mum moved into Kincairney House in Ocober 2020 and from her very first week there, when she celebrated her 90th Birthday she was made to feel special. We had a wonderful family celebration laid on by the home and will be long remembered. (see photo 28). Mum was very happy and quickly settled into her new "home from home" almost becoming part of the fabric of the home. The door to her beautifuly apportioned room, was always open for chats with other residents and staff alike but sadly her stay was only to brief, as after a short illness she passed away in December. During that difficlut time the staff went out of their way to look after the family and the level of care given to my mum was unsurpassable. Kincairney House sets the standards for luxury but more than that the professionalism, dignity and respect from every member of staff is what sets it apart and made my mum's last few months there so happy.

Kincairney took my dad in after he had a spell in hospital. He was in a pretty poor way but the staff and nurses were exceptional in looking after him and making him comfortable in his new room.
The home is immaculately laid out with lots of space and separate areas if family are visiting.

They have a full range of facilities for the residents and this, on top of the specialist care they provide, gives me a full piece of mind when I can’t be there.

My mum has dementia and was very difficult to settle in as she was very paranoid and psychotic. With the help of the staff and doctors, we have been able to get Mum on the right medication and with the moving of rooms, she has settled well. Staff are becoming a good team. In the room, the bathroom doors are hung the wrong way round. Have seen Mum enter the bathroom in the dark as the light switch is on the other side.

My husband moved into Kincairney House in October and the management were extremely supportive in this process, relieving some of the pressures for my family and me. When visiting, the staff always make us feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble for them. They have gone out of their way to understand the needs of my husband and also my family. My husband is encouraged to take part in activities, which the staff adapt to enable him to participate. They even send pictures and videos so I can see what he’s achieving; I feel happy knowing that he’s happy. I receive frequent updates on his well-being and the staff are open to feedback and input and quickly implement these. His room is spacious and pleasantly decorated to a high standard and all social areas feel home from home. What I mostly appreciate about Kincairney House is that the staff go above and beyond to support the needs of my whole family, whether that is us staying for dinner or helping us take him out for the day.

My mother-in-law stayed at Kincairney House for a week's respite care. The care home is a new purpose-built one and to a certain extent still being set up. The home is beautiful and all the furnishings are top quality. It looks more like a hotel than a care home. All the staff were immaculately turned out and very polite and attentive. The food was apparently excellent and varied. If I have any criticism it is that communication at the time of the booking process was initially a bit uncertain but this is probably due to all the staff being new and still learning. It is also more expensive than most care homes, but the best things always cost more.

Dad moved into Kincairney House in August 2021 and throughout his stay received excellent care and attention. All the staff contribute to providing a lovely welcoming atmosphere and the home is extremely luxurious and comfortable with bedrooms and lounges all equipped and furnished to a very standard. Special compliments to the chef who provided fantastic meals and also homemade cakes and treats. We were lucky enough to manage a couple of family celebrations at Kincairney (diamond wedding and 90th birthday) which took place in the private dining room where we were provided with an excellent afternoon tea and refreshments. Dad was in Kincairney for palliative care and unfortunately passed away very recently. We had full confidence in the nursing and care staff who looked after him with kindness and compassion and provided everything he needed in his final stages. They also looked after and supported us as a family with such understanding and dignity. Many thanks to all the staff.
