There were staff shortages and a Covid outbreak at Christmas - no help given for bathing. Lack of clarity over medicine and promised bacs not arranged. Internal and external communications were poor. Offer of respite care turned out to be over-sold and not delivered. The food and furnishings were good.

The staff in reception were always very helpful and proactive.
The nursing staff took a real interest in looking after her very professionally and at awkward times.
The staff in the kitchen were always very obliging and helpful.

The staff always made time to speak to her and made her stay pleasurable.

Mum was very well cared for over the months that she was at Signature at Wimbledon.

The staff were extremely attentive and professional and very obliging and kind. The food was incredible and always put a smile on Mum's face. There are some incredible, particular staff who cared for Mum's every need. Thank you, Signature at Wimbledon.

Based on a recommendation of a previous 'user', I booked two weeks of convalescent care following a major operation. It proved to be a wise choice. I was impressed by the quality of accommodation and facilities and, more importantly, of the management and in-house staff. The quality of the few contract staff I met varied.
The restaurant offered an excellent choice at breakfast and a good choice at lunch and supper. I appreciated the flexibility provided by the two-hour window at each meal. There was a full programme of activities, including outings to the park, and the management and staff arranged a highly enjoyable Halloween Party - even if it was 12-days early!
I so enjoyed myself that I stayed for a third week.

I have no hesitation in recommending this care home.

I have nothing to say other than praise for the staff, without exception, they are pleasant and friendly in manner, always ready to help or listen or fo any little take if needed (like for insurance, of I am in the lounge and to tied to go to my room for something, they will cheerfully nip to my room for me, and if I'm in bed and need anything, the same applies). All the residents say, like me, how kind, helpful and willing they all are to help.

My father was cared for here for three and a half years, and I can honestly say that every member of staff I met was wonderful with him. He was not always easy, but they coped with him with patience, professionalism and love. Amazing!

Mum really did not want to go to a home. She loved being in her own home and beautiful garden. Although she felt she was managing, even with carers, she was finding it increasingly difficult with early Dementia, poor sight and mobility. She finally agreed to a trial at Signature Wimbledon for a month, and we were all hoping that she would want to stay but expected her to want to go home again. The first week was hard because she had to isolate, but once she was able to meet the other residents and join in the activities, she quickly settled and was happy. At the end of the second week, she said she had decided to stay. She said the staff were always so kind and helpful, she had made friends, there were lots going on, she loved her room, she said the food was very good, and she said, we (her family) were very clever to find such a nice place for her! Huge sigh of relief all-around! Thank you to all the team.

Thank you for taking such good care of my mum; she is happy and settled. It is lovely to hear about all the activities she is taking part in and knowing that she is safe and well cared for.

It was a difficult decision to move Mum to a care home, but we are thankful to have found the right home for Mum, and the whole process was seamless from the initial phone call to moving in. Thank you for what you do.

Good care home, nice staff. Very clean, and overall, good level of service. Was very clean and up to standards. Can’t comment on activities as wasn’t applicable. Nor can comment on value for money as just a friend and not the one who is paying.

Signature Wimbledon looked after my mum until her recent death from Dementia aged 72. I cannot recommend this care home highly enough, especially having had an experience of a far less impressive place prior to mum's move in 2019. The facilities, activities schedule and food were all excellent - just as good if not better than the website promises. But the most important thing is how genuinely kind, respectful and knowledgeable all of the staff are - the dementia team especially deserve all possible praise. Mum was treated impeccably, and with genuine care and love, from the moment she arrived until she sadly died. Even during the Covid lockdowns, we were reassured that she was in the best possible hands, and they facilitated as much visiting, videos and calls as we could have hoped for - especially once she was in 'end of life'. We were and are hugely grateful.

We really appreciate your tolerance and understanding, during this difficult period, during which Covid has such an impact on our lives.

My dear friend moved into Signature Wimbledon over Christmas, and on recent conversations with him, it is lovely to hear how happy and settled he is. He is full of compliments about the staff, the activities and speaks very highly of the food he is being served. We were very worried about his move, but it is very reassuring to hear how happy he is.

Overall Experience

My mother was a resident for 14 months at Wimbledon. She sadly passed away recently due to old age, as her Alzheimers increased the reality meant we needed a different type of help. So moving into Wimbledon Signature, having been recommended, was a positive change. We returned to being her son and daughter again and throughout her stay, not easy at times for her or the staff, but they continued to be caring, thoughtful, with humour and understanding of my mother as a person and a person with dementia. The home is kept spotless, the receptionists know who you are and often what my mother had been up to. The food has improved and I think got to a high standard, especially over lockdown. I think you can often judge somewhere by the staff and here at Wimbledon the top managers have changed a few times but the core team and carers have remained the same, which is important. I have great respect for what they do and thank you that we found Wimbledon for her last 14-months. Thank you.

My husband was a resident for some 14 months. He had severe mobility issues, but these never seemed to present a problem for the lovely staff who were so patient and kind at all times. The room he occupied was perfect in terms of size and facilities, and the amenities in the home were excellent, as was the food. I would certainly recommend this home, and have, indeed, already done so.

My mother has been a resident for over three years, having been one of the first to move into the home which was then under different ownership. She has been very happy throughout her stay. The staff are very friendly, extremely attentive and patient in dealing with the differing needs of the residents. There are many activities for residents who choose to take part, the food is good and, as one would expect for a recently-built facility, the residents' rooms and immediate surroundings are of excellent quality. During the current coronavirus outbreak, the provision of video calls has been really helpful in maintaining contact with my mother. The turnover of staff is a bit of concern (there have been several general managers in post over the period) and sometimes the channels of communication/follow up on actions could be better, but overall the quality of care is very good.
