Based on a recommendation of a previous 'user', I booked two weeks of convalescent care following a major operation. It proved to be a wise choice. I was impressed by the quality of accommodation and facilities and, more importantly, of the management and in-house staff. The quality of the few contract
staff I met varied.
The restaurant offered an excellent choice at breakfast and a good choice at lunch and supper. I appreciated the flexibility provided by the two-hour window at each meal. There was a full programme of activities, including outings to the park, and the management and staff arranged a highly enjoyable Halloween Party - even if it was 12-days early!
I so enjoyed myself that I stayed for a third week.
I have no hesitation in recommending this care home.

I have nothing to say other than praise for the staff, without exception, they are pleasant and friendly in manner, always ready to help or listen or fo any little take if needed (like for insurance, of I am in the lounge and to tied to go to my room for something, they will cheerfully nip to my room
for me, and if I'm in bed and need anything, the same applies). All the residents say, like me, how kind, helpful and willing they all are to help.

My father was cared for here for three and a half years, and I can honestly say that every member of staff I met was wonderful with him. He was not always easy, but they coped with him with patience, professionalism and love. Amazing!

Mum really did not want to go to a home. She loved being in her own home and beautiful garden. Although she felt she was managing, even with carers, she was finding it increasingly difficult with early Dementia, poor sight and mobility. She finally agreed to a trial at Signature Wimbledon for a month,
and we were all hoping that she would want to stay but expected her to want to go home again. The first week was hard because she had to isolate, but once she was able to meet the other residents and join in the activities, she quickly settled and was happy. At the end of the second week, she said she had decided to stay. She said the staff were always so kind and helpful, she had made friends, there were lots going on, she loved her room, she said the food was very good, and she said, we (her family) were very clever to find such a nice place for her! Huge sigh of relief all-around! Thank you to all the team.

Signature Wimbledon looked after my mum until her recent death from Dementia aged 72. I cannot recommend this care home highly enough, especially having had an experience of a far less impressive place prior to mum's move in 2019. The facilities, activities schedule and food were all excellent - just
as good if not better than the website promises. But the most important thing is how genuinely kind, respectful and knowledgeable all of the staff are - the dementia team especially deserve all possible praise. Mum was treated impeccably, and with genuine care and love, from the moment she arrived until she sadly died. Even during the Covid lockdowns, we were reassured that she was in the best possible hands, and they facilitated as much visiting, videos and calls as we could have hoped for - especially once she was in 'end of life'. We were and are hugely grateful.

My mother was a resident for 14 months at Wimbledon. She sadly passed away recently due to old age, as her Alzheimers increased the reality meant we needed a different type of help. So moving into Wimbledon Signature, having been recommended, was a positive change. We returned to being her son and daughter
again and throughout her stay, not easy at times for her or the staff, but they continued to be caring, thoughtful, with humour and understanding of my mother as a person and a person with dementia. The home is kept spotless, the receptionists know who you are and often what my mother had been up to. The food has improved and I think got to a high standard, especially over lockdown. I think you can often judge somewhere by the staff and here at Wimbledon the top managers have changed a few times but the core team and carers have remained the same, which is important. I have great respect for what they do and thank you that we found Wimbledon for her last 14-months. Thank you.

My husband was a resident for some 14 months. He had severe mobility issues, but these never seemed to present a problem for the lovely staff who were so patient and kind at all times. The room he occupied was perfect in terms of size and facilities, and the amenities in the home were excellent, as
was the food. I would certainly recommend this home, and have, indeed, already done so.

My mother has been a resident for over three years, having been one of the first to move into the home which was then under different ownership. She has been very happy throughout her stay. The staff are very friendly, extremely attentive and patient in dealing with the differing needs of the residents.
There are many activities for residents who choose to take part, the food is good and, as one would expect for a recently-built facility, the residents' rooms and immediate surroundings are of excellent quality. During the current coronavirus outbreak, the provision of video calls has been really helpful in maintaining contact with my mother. The turnover of staff is a bit of concern (there have been several general managers in post over the period) and sometimes the channels of communication/follow up on actions could be better, but overall the quality of care is very good.

Signature Wimbledon is a care home in the true sense of those words. The residents are encouraged to view it as their home and every effort is made to assist families to make their relatives room as comfortable and familiar as possible. The initial consultation with the senior care team was impressive
and reassuring and they continue to be open and receptive to ongoing care dialogues. The local GP surgery is two minutes down the road and there is a reassuring relationship with Signature with weekly GP visits. The Signature staff are all polite and respectful and go out of their way to get to know the residents. Nothing is too much trouble and every effort is made to celebrate life in as many diverse ways as possible throughout the course of each year. The atmosphere in the dining room is relaxed and friendly and the food is excellent, with carefully chosen ingredients to ensure a good balance of nutrients and manageable portion sizes. The activities team work hard to offer an impressive and varied daily visit ranging from big-screen crosswords in the cinema to shopping trips to local centres

Signature in Wimbledon is an outstanding facility. The care team is excellent and the whole facility is five-star from the nursing to the food, entertainment and general feel and ambience. The team greet you with a smile and everyone goes beyond to make sure my mother is well, both physically and emotionally.

As indicated in the tick boxes below, I have been completely satisfied with everything connected with my short (4 weeks respite care) stay at Signature. The building, it's design and facilities is of the standard of a 1st class hotel. The staff are welcoming, helpful and efficient. I was particularly
impressed with the patience and kindness they showed with some residents who were stressed or with medical problems. I enjoyed many of the activities, although some were not of any particular interest, which is only to be expected with a diverse audience. The food in the dining room was good and the service quick and efficient. The tables, crockery and cutlery are spotless.
If necessary, I will return next year.

I spent more than 10 years working as a General Manager in hotels across London before deciding it was time for a new and more meaningful challenge. I joined Avery in May 2023 and now lead the hospitality team at Wimbledon Common Care Home.


Working in a care home has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my career. I’m passionate about making sure our residents feel comfortable, cared for, and truly at home. I’m also incredibly proud to work alongside such a kind, dedicated, and hardworking team.

My background includes roles in customer care, account management, and operations, which have honed my ability to guide and advise clients in a way that best serves their interests. At Wimbledon Common Care Home, I am committed to ensuring that every resident and their family feel supported, with all decisions made to benefit their wellbeing. My approach is centred on trust, care, and fostering long-term relationships.
