Kitwood House Care Residence is located in Northwich, Cheshire and specialises in caring for people who live with various types and stages of dementia, particularly complex dementia.

It offers state-of-the-art facilities that have been designed specially for people living with dementia. Facilities include bistro-style dining, themed interactive areas such as on-site bars, shops, a laundrette, a hair salon, a bus stop and four virtual railway journey experiences. Two Tover projectors are also fitted into complex dementia units.

68 ensuite bedrooms include a fully-adjustable bed, stylish fitted furniture, wet room shower, an HD LED wall mounted TV, and free WiFi.

A weekly activities programme is packed with inclusive, person-centred activities such as; interactive games, flower arranging, parties, picnics, dancing, singing, arts and crafts, reading clubs, choirs, film nights, monthly themed days, professional live entertainers and pet therapy.

Mum is a new resident and only lived her for 4 weeks. Our overall impression when visiting Mum. The cleanliness and tidiness of Kitness. The members of staff we have spoken to are really friendly and willing to answer any questions or concerns we have. In the short time Mum has been a resident, we have
noticed that Mum has settled well and looks a lot happier. She is obviously having her meds regularly as Mum seems to be her normal self.

My dad was in the dementia plus unit from August - November 2022. Overall, we were very happy with his care and support, staff are always polite. The home was always very clean and drinks and snacks were provided for residents. On the board were pictures of residents joining in with activities, Kitwood
is very secure.

Excellent care home with the very best of keeping the residents safe, with the best care, very responsive and effective and the manager and other professionals lead the team exceptionally well.
Nothing is too much for the team.
The home itself is immaculate.
They all go above and beyond.
Keep
the family well informed and always at the end of the phone to answer any concerns. The staff take time to speak to relatives and look after relatives during visits.
The manager also goes above and beyond, always making herself available.

Putting my father in care was enormously emotional and stressful but the team at Kitwood were amazing. They completely understood the complexities of each resident and their faculties. I was dreading my friend going into the care sector. I needn't have worried, Kitwood House goes over and above my expectations. The staff treat the residents with the respect and dignity they deserve. Staff are very friendly and helpful, even when they are very busy. Hospitality, chef and care staff
always have a smile for you. It's obvious to me that the staff are really committed to their vocation. Not forgetting the receptionists.

The manager is excellent, very professional and caring. On visits I observe her interacting in a genuine and caring manner with all residents. Always replies to emails. The facilities are beautiful, like a really nice hotel. Food is very good and varied. Dad had to go on a pureed diet which they made

When I first saw Kitwood I was amazed that a care home could look so wonderful. So I was overjoyed when my wife was placed in the home. I soon realised that although the home looks amazing the main thing was how my wife was looked after. I needn't have worried, my wife has complex dementia issues and
the staff go out of their way to understand her needs and respond accordingly. I visit my wife nearly every day and all the staff are always warm and friendly. This is a wonderful home and I would highly recommend!

My mum was the very first person to reside at Kitwood House, and although the place is amazing to look at, obviously being newly opened, there were niggles, which is expected at the beginning. However, these issues were resolved within a couple of months, and we are very happy with the standard of care

Job Title: Registered Home Manager Joined: 2021

I have worked in Health and Social Care for the last 19 years. My Social Care journey started as a Support Worker specifically working with dementia. I did this for 5 years before deciding to go to university to become a Nurse. I completed my nurse training while having a very young family and once qualified I worked as a Surgical Nurse which I really enjoyed. After 4 years I decided I wanted to go back to the kind of nursing that I loved, working and supporting people living with dementia.


I started working as a nurse in a nursing home found my passion again and progressed to a Deputy position in a small Nursing Home. I moved on once I heard about Kitwood House, and I started there when the home first opened as a Clinical Lead, progressing to Deputy Manager and now Home Manager.


I thoroughly enjoy working at Kitwood House and am eager to continue to contribute to its ongoing success and feel that I have built strong working relationships with residents, relatives and staff.


On a more personal level, I am a mum to 3 boys and will be getting married in January 2025. I don’t have too much time for hobbies, as I also have 2 dogs which keep me very busy. I am so lucky to have a lot of support from my family and parents who have always pushed me to achieve what I want to, and they are always behind me encouraging me.
