My mother needed urgent end-of-life care and it took just one phone call to Mistley Manor to arrange a suite for my mother. The whole process was extremely professional and comforting. Although my mother's stay turned out to be very brief, she was given the highest and most attentive care.

I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Mistley Manor, every member of staff I met or had any dealings with were amazing. Their care and attention to detail also did not falter, even after her death.

Overall the care provided is excellent. My mum has looked so well since coming to live at Mistley Manor, she is happy and looks great. The review was good and highlighted some areas which could be improved for her ie rail by the bed, more vegetables with meals, cricket tv channels and dietary additional. I know Mum gets on well with the staff, she has her favourite I think, but she chats to them all. It all adds to the more interaction we discussed as Mum is quite sociable. She loves the hairdresser service too.

My mother spent almost 6 years at Mistley Manor before passing away due to Alzheimer's in December 2021. Each time I visited I found Mum to be well cared for and evidently comfortable with the carers around her. The staff were friendly and welcoming, patient and caring. Often faced with difficult circumstances, as is the nature of caring for dementia sufferers, I witnessed staff deal with many challenging situations with care and compassion and immense patience. Through the covid restrictions, the 'senior first' staff have always been quick to respond to my queries and have provided updates on Mum, or proactively contacted me where issues arose. Whilst sometimes visits, after long periods of absence are tinged with trepidation, on every occasion I left reassured that we had chosen the right place for Mum and that the stresses induced by her Alzheimer's were made as bearable as possible by the great team around her, enabling her to feel safe and secure.

My mother has been a resident at Mistley Manor for the past 10 months until she sadly passed away recently. The staff at Mistley have gone over and above in the care they provided to meet her complex needs. She was treated as an individual from day one with dignity and respect. The personal care she recieved was excellent and she really enjoyed the beautiful food. I am extremely grateful to the carers and management who have always been very accommodating and kind. I would happily recommend Mistley Manor to anyone who is looking for a care home for their loved one. They have been brilliant.

My parents lived in one of the 'independent' bungalows within Mistley Manor, however, they continually accessed and used the facilities, which are excellent. The support both received from all staff has been exemplary. They were treated with kindness, and dignity at all times, from a team who clearly knew their job extremely well, particularly in the more difficult times. It was a comfort as 'children' that we knew our parents were safe and well cared for in every respect. Staff often going over and above what was expected to provide personal support without being asked.

I use the service for two days a week daycare and occasional respite breaks. The staff at Mistley Manor go out of their way to help me as I have no family support. The staff are very friendly and always greet me by name when I arrive. Always look forward to going and enjoy the company, the surroundings and the superb food..

This home provides the care and assistance my mother requires. The staff are caring and go above and beyond their duties. My mum feels safe, secure and very happy. Although we are still in lockdown, the home has provided as much access and safe visits as allowed. I would thoroughly recommend this home for peace of mind for a family member.

My brother is always clean and well presented when I visit. Staff are always happy to listen to me if I have something to ask and happy to help. Staff interact with residents all the time.
I have on occasions preferred for my brother to stay at Mistley Manor rather than go to hospital as the ratio of staff is so good and the care he receives is so good. In my opinion, staff go above and beyond.

Since choosing Mistley Manor for my brother eighteen months ago I haven't looked back. Watching my brother gain confidence and look happier and healthier I know I made the right choice.

I am extremely satisfied with the care my relative receives. The staff are caring and cheerful and we are kept up to date by the owners with a weekly Relatives Letter. The owners have gone above and beyond keeping everyone safe during the pandemic for which we are very grateful.

Excellent care provider offering a dignified and safe environment for my parents to spend their last years with very helpful kind staff. My father says he has issues with the food, this is my only negative comment. Don't know if he is being reasonable or difficult.

My sister has been at Mistley Manor for four years. Although she would rather be at home she says it's a good home and she is well looked after. The carers are kind and patient especially when my sister gets confused about things. My sister enjoys all the activities and outings. The home is always supportive of its residents and tries to maintain a happy atmosphere. The food is good and the menu is discussed with each individual resident and alternative options offered where necessary.

My mother will be 90 next month and is virtually bedridden. Mum had always said she wanted to stay in her own home, and until recently, she managed with the help of a carer. However, she was becoming increasingly anxious and isolated, and it was clear she needed 24-hour care. The pandemic made this very difficult on a practical level, but we eventually moved Mum to Mistley Manor just over a month ago, and I am so relieved that she is there and is being so well looked after. She has settled very well and has told me how kind and accommodating the staff are. She feels safe and is surrounded by her favourite bits and pieces from home. She really enjoys having freshly cooked meals. Mistley Manor also allowed visits - when many care homes did not - which we also greatly appreciated, although these have of course stopped in lockdown. As a family, we are all so grateful to the staff at Mistley for dealing so sympathetically and professionally with our mother.

Overall Experience
My young 83-year-old self sufficient mother was suffering from what can now be described as an effect of the initial COVID-19 lockdown. Her symptoms were anxiety, worry, loss of confidence that began to manifest themselves gradually over a period of time during the initial lockdown from March onwards. In part, these symptoms were bought on by an inconsistent sleep pattern. The family tried to care for my mother at her home, we did our best but we couldn't offer the care and support she needed.

Having made the difficult decision to put her into a care home, the team at Mistley Manor couldn't have done any more, she had a COVID test the same day and was admitted 2 days later. I'm pleased to say after 6 weeks of professional care and help along with being able to enjoy resident interaction, she is on the mend, her confidence has returned and she is now in her words "ready to return to her own home". Thank you, Mistley Manor.

I am forever thankful that Mistley Manor was recommended to me for my mum's care when she developed dementia. My mum regularly tells family and friends how happy and grateful she is to be there. She is extremely well cared for and the staff are wonderful. They do a fantastic job caring for the dementia residents, with round the clock care and really get to know their charges. They are very detailed and organized in all they do. As well they keep in touch with me and always make me feel like my mum is their only resident as they give her such care and attention. Most importantly there is an excellent ratio of staff to residents, which makes a huge difference to the quality of care they can provide. The proprietors have been extremely good in keeping relatives informed during the COVID crisis and have gone above and beyond to keep both staff and residents safe. I truly believe this is one of the best care homes in the UK.

Impeccable service, care, attention to detail - likeable staff and respectful management - professional, supportive, full of love and commitment. My mother had a rapid case of Alzheimer’s and deteriorated rapidly, there was never a moment the staff left her side or turned away when she needed them most as visiting was difficult for me due to work commitments.

My mother stayed at Mistley Manor to convalesce from a hip operation. The staff were professional and friendly and went above and beyond to help get my Mum up and about, giving her the extra confidence to return home after her operation. My father visited daily and enjoyed eating in the dining room with Mum. The menu changes daily and is of a true restaurant standard.

I would happily recommend Mistley Manor to friends and family, and I know both my parents would happily stay there again if the need arose.

We were very relieved to find Mistley Manor when our mother's previous care home could not cope with her needs following a stroke. She has dementia and was having frequent falls, but the manager reassured us that it would not be a problem. All the other homes we had looked at were terrible. Our mother is now 91 and has been a resident at Mistley Manor for nearly 3 years, and they have coped with her increasing needs wonderfully.
We have been delighted with all aspects of the home. It is a lovely spacious, light environment with excellent facilities and regular activities for the residents. They even arranged to take her swimming in a specially adapted pool for the disabled before lockdown.
The staff are exemplary and really care about the residents, and the managers are consistently helpful and proactive with all our mother's health and care needs.

I have no hesitation in highly recommending Mistley Manor.

Mistley Manor, its staff and management, have demonstrated exemplary care, for both of my parents. All, without exception, have taken a very personal interest in their emotional and physical well-being. During my Father's short illness and following his passing, they have shown the utmost kindness and respect for all members of the family - and of course - especially for my Mother. She considers it to be her home and would be devastated to leave - having made some lovely friends in both other residents and staff. We have been overwhelmed by all aspects of the care provided by the whole team at Mistley Manor, nothing is too much trouble for anyone, going above and beyond what would normally be expected, in every way - thank you.

After four years of living together in a suite at Mistley Manor, my parents recently passed away. The care they received during these years was truly excellent and enriched their lives beyond measure.
The care staff are all highly trained and carry out their duties with a love and care that was shown not just to my parents but support was also given to me and my sister.
During the fours years, we had regular care meetings with senior staff and were always kept updated when we visited or by phone.
The care and respect that was afforded my parents gave them a longer and better quality life but also gave me and my sister peace of mind.

I cannot thank all the staff at Mistley Manor enough and will recommend to anyone I know who needs excellent care.
