This is the most wonderful place imaginable. All the staff give 110%, time and care. The food is perfect for our needs. There is so much space in all the private and public rooms and corridors and so tasteful. What more can I say, we are so lucky to have found you.

Very good care home - more like a hotel - friendly staff, all very helpful and caring. Mum was looked after very well during her stay after breaking her wrist and we, her family, were happy that she was getting the necessary care while she was temporarily incapacitated.

My husband, fortunately, is quite independent, but he enjoys the good service and care which the home provides.
He is very happy and we both appreciate that he is so well looked after, as I am no longer able to care for him myself.

My father lived here for just over 3 years. In that time he was treated as a member of the family and he thought of Mistley Manor as his home. The staff without exception demonstrated a warm and personal approach in their care delivery, always treating him with the highest levels of dignity and respect.
Likewise, they were a tremendous support to myself and my family and we cannot thank the whole team enough.

My Mother has been a resident at Mistley Manor for 18 months. Over that period of time the home has adapted her care to suit her needs. She is well cared for by a team of kind and cheerful carers. The wide age range of the carers provides both experience and a variety of interpersonal skills.
The owners
are based on site and along with the rest of the Management team are available to discuss any matter very quickly.

My mother was admitted for emergency respite care overnight and the care home staff could not have been more helpful and professional. I felt completely confident that my mother was in safe and caring hands at the end of her life and receiving the constant attention she needed for her condition.

Review from Gaynor W (Sister of Resident) published on 3 November 2015 Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My older sister was suffering with Dementia and as Mistley Manor was extremely local to us, I decided to move her from her current home in Dorset. The move was seamless, with the Mistley Manor team (at all levels) doing everything within their power to make my sister feel welcome in her new home. The
decor and style in Mistley Manor is like no other I have seen in a care home and is more reminiscent of an upmarket boutique hotel but with a warm and homely atmosphere. The food is also of a very high standard. Friends of ours who came to visit my sister were amazed at how lovely it was. Unfortunately, my sister was in the final stages of her Dementia and sadly died a few weeks ago, but I will not forget the level of care, patience and kindness that the staff and management consistently provided. Nothing was too much trouble and any specialist care or advice required either by a healthcare or other professional service was promptly acquired. I would strongly recommend Mistley Manor and as a relatively new care home just hope they manage to sustain the high standards that differentiates them from other homes.

5* hotel quality accommodation. My partner enjoyed his respite stay at Mistley Manor and praised the staff frequently. He particularly liked the licenced bar and being able to have a beer or wine with his meal. The facilities and care are second to none and the staff are very helpful in every respect.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.891) out of 10 for Mistley Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 31 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.891 for Mistley Manor is calculated as follows: ( (329 Excellents x 5) + (38 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 368 Ratings = 4.891
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mistley Manor is based on 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 84 registered maximum number of service users is 16.8, which has been reached with 31 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
