Overall Experience
My father was a resident of Mistley Manor for almost a year. He suffered with dementia and heart disease, and his dementia progressively worsened during this time. The management were very helpful and tried their hardest to accommodate any request I made. I was informed immediately if a problem arose and I was kept up to date with my father’s general wellbeing on a regular basis.
The carers and other staff were all extremely kind, helpful and respectful to my father, who, at times due to his condition, could be demanding. The seniors and carers never complained about any task they needed to do for my father, some of which was beyond their remit, which was much appreciated by my mother and I.

My father was very happy at Mistley Manor up until he passed away. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mistley Manor.

Excellent accommodation - rooms are very comfortable. Consistency in carers/staff who know residents well. Sometimes health issues are not followed up with a GP but urgent issues are acted on immediately. Personal care is not sufficient for the needs of my mother.

On the whole, I notice the staff are excellent and caring. They are very helpful but my issue with the home is that it is advertised as 'luxury' with its shiny ornaments, but the food is poor. Portions are small and menus are aimed at children. Cheap, sliced bread, little in the way of fresh veg and fruit. The residents haven't always been old, they could sometimes be difficult, but many have discerning tastes.

I have marked safety/security as poor as it relates to one difficult resident who has been able to wander into my friend's room on several occasions, causing concern. The staff do their best to manage him, though it is a difficult task.

Overall Experience
My parents have been residents of Mistley Manor in a large, comfortable suite. While Mistley Manor provides accommodation, food and activities of the highest standard it is the care of all the staff that is of the highest possible quality and enriched their lives. MM offers a wide range of facilities from a beauty salon to a bar and cinema room - sociable to peaceful.

Furthermore, the care extends to the family and means they offer a complete and holistic service. Every one of the staff knows every resident by name and all the care staff, the gardeners, cleaners, reception staff carry out their duties with a smile. The people who look after my parents directly are patient, kind, gentle and possess a good sense of humour, anticipating and meeting their complex needs. I cannot tell you what a fantastic home Mistley Manor is and how highly rated (outstanding) and would recommend it to anyone looking for a safe, high-quality home offering excellent care with dignity and respect.

I cannot fault the care and attention that my aunt received. All the care assistants are extremely pleasant, polite and friendly. They do their work efficiently but sympathetically and build up meaningful relationships with the resident and the resident’s family.
The seniors are very efficient and informative and nothing is too much trouble for them.
The reception staff are welcoming and helpful.

Overall I have been very impressed with the care my aunt has received.

This is the most wonderful place imaginable. All the staff give 110%, time and care. The food is perfect for our needs. There is so much space in all the private and public rooms and corridors and so tasteful. What more can I say, we are so lucky to have found you.

Very good care home - more like a hotel - friendly staff, all very helpful and caring. Mum was looked after very well during her stay after breaking her wrist and we, her family, were happy that she was getting the necessary care while she was temporarily incapacitated.

My husband, fortunately, is quite independent, but he enjoys the good service and care which the home provides.

He is very happy and we both appreciate that he is so well looked after, as I am no longer able to care for him myself.

My father lived here for just over 3 years. In that time he was treated as a member of the family and he thought of Mistley Manor as his home. The staff without exception demonstrated a warm and personal approach in their care delivery, always treating him with the highest levels of dignity and respect. Likewise, they were a tremendous support to myself and my family and we cannot thank the whole team enough.

My Mother has been a resident at Mistley Manor for 18 months. Over that period of time the home has adapted her care to suit her needs. She is well cared for by a team of kind and cheerful carers. The wide age range of the carers provides both experience and a variety of interpersonal skills.

The owners are based on site and along with the rest of the Management team are available to discuss any matter very quickly.

My mother was admitted for emergency respite care overnight and the care home staff could not have been more helpful and professional. I felt completely confident that my mother was in safe and caring hands at the end of her life and receiving the constant attention she needed for her condition.

Review from Gaynor W (Sister of Resident) published on 3 November 2015 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My older sister was suffering with Dementia and as Mistley Manor was extremely local to us, I decided to move her from her current home in Dorset. The move was seamless, with the Mistley Manor team (at all levels) doing everything within their power to make my sister feel welcome in her new home. The decor and style in Mistley Manor is like no other I have seen in a care home and is more reminiscent of an upmarket boutique hotel but with a warm and homely atmosphere. The food is also of a very high standard. Friends of ours who came to visit my sister were amazed at how lovely it was. Unfortunately, my sister was in the final stages of her Dementia and sadly died a few weeks ago, but I will not forget the level of care, patience and kindness that the staff and management consistently provided. Nothing was too much trouble and any specialist care or advice required either by a healthcare or other professional service was promptly acquired. I would strongly recommend Mistley Manor and as a relatively new care home just hope they manage to sustain the high standards that differentiates them from other homes.

5* hotel quality accommodation. My partner enjoyed his respite stay at Mistley Manor and praised the staff frequently. He particularly liked the licenced bar and being able to have a beer or wine with his meal. The facilities and care are second to none and the staff are very helpful in every respect.
