Overall Experience

Whilst certainly expensive, Moore Place is a new, bright, friendly home with good facilities. The staff are all very helpful and responsive to the needs of the people they care for. Now that the teething problems have been solved, there is a good range of activities that residents can participate in or enjoy the privacy and quiet of their own room as they prefer. Overall, I cannot see my mother being as comfortable and cared for in any other home that I have seen. Whilst ageing is a difficult process for all concerned, Moore Place makes those latter years as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

My neighbour used Moore Place Care Home over Christmas as she has no immediate relations. When she fell ill after Christmas at the age of 92 and decided she could not live alone anymore and chose Moore Place because of her past experience.

She has an old friend and a neighbour already in Moore Place so it was easy to decide her future, comfort and peace of mind was to return and enjoy her later years.

My Step-father has received outstanding care since coming to Moore Place. Since my mother passed away last year, he has found life very difficult at home and has struggled to cope.

Morre Place has given him a new lease of life. He has made friends and is happier than I've seen him for a long time.

My mother is the first occupant of a very well appointed room with an attractive view across the garden. The staff are excellent; very willing and responsive and universally friendly. The decision to move to a care home is never easy but the overall quality of Moore Place has made it a positive experience.

I visited the home when my father was in hospital and was worried and anxious because he has always said he would dislike a care home. I met with the customer relations manager, she showed me around and had an in-depth chat with me. I left Moore Place feeling happy and convinced that my father would love this warm and friendly home.

He has recently moved in and is enjoying his stay enormously. The staff are exceptional - genuine and friendly, they go out of their way to make my father's day special. A big thanks goes to the customer relations manager and regional support manager.

I am extremely happy that my mother has settled happily into Moore Place after initial problems she particularly likes the kind friendly staff. However I would like to know exactly what she is offered for her main meal and I find that there is a lack of communication between the staff/family and client.

Thank you for taking the time to complete the feedback on Moore Place which has been shared with the staff, we are pleased to say we have just employed a head chef who is now in our kitchen and is talking to our residents regarding their views on the food we provide to enhance the experience for...

All the staff have been refreshingly professional, caring, understanding and supportive for my mother and for us as a family going through this stage of her life. Moore Place have understood and provided for my mother's needs in a precise and competent manner, even down to an early morning cup of tea in bed. Having visited on numerous occasions, I have witnessed at first hand the gentleness, humour and general camaraderie between the staff and residents. What a gem!

Moore Place is a newly-built residential care home. We moved my Mum into this home following poor experiences in her previous home. Moore Place is a beautifully decorated environment with large well-furnished rooms to a modern design. Staff and care standards are excellent. We are very pleased with this move and my Mum who is 93 years old is enjoying herself.

This care home opened on 4th December 2015. My mother was the second resident to move in. Her room is beautifully furnished, that is one of the most important things for her that she feels comfortable in there and it is very welcoming. The home itself is just wonderful, beautifully positioned within easy reach of Esher town centre and a vast array of shops and restaurants. The staff without exception are friendly and kind, any problems they sort out. Always willing to go that extra mile. My mother does not have dementia , she just needs to be looked after. We are happy she is there being well cared for, believe me we'd not leave her if she wasn't. Most importantly my mother is happy.

Claire Tinson
Claire TinsonJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2025

Hi, I'm Claire Tinson, the Deputy Manager at Moore Place care home in Esher.

My journey in care began 25 years ago when I started as a care assistant in a small independent care home in Esher. After taking a short career break to raise my family, I joined the NHS, where I spent many years working in both clinical and administrative roles. Although I valued my time in the NHS, I soon realised how much I missed the continuity of care and the deep relationships that come from working in a care home setting.

In December 2017, I returned to that environment by joining Moore Place as a bank Care Assistant, and I loved every minute of it. By September 2018, I made the decision to leave the NHS and became a full-time Team Leader at Moore Place, managing the ground floor alongside Chelsea. I spent four incredibly fulfilling years here, and the residents and staff quickly became my second family. This sense of unity and dedication was never more evident than during the COVID-19 pandemic, when—despite the fear and uncertainty—we pulled together as a team and gave everything we had. One of our proudest accomplishments was navigating that time without the need for any agency staff.

I left Moore Place to broaden my management experience and, for the past two and a half years, have been leading a reception team at a world-renowned veterinary practice. While the role brought valuable experience and new challenges, my heart always remained with Moore Place.

When I saw the Deputy Manager position advertised, I knew immediately that I had to apply. I’m absolutely thrilled to return, and I look forward to getting to know all the residents and families, and to supporting them in living happy, fulfilled lives.

Richard Mansfield
Richard MansfieldJob Title:Moore Place Home ManagerJoined: 2020

I joined Anchor over five years ago, moving into care from a career in hospitality during the COVID-19 pandemic. What started as a temporary role quickly became a real passion—I remember finishing one of my first shifts and realising I’d found something I genuinely loved. From there, I progressed from Care Assistant to Team Leader, then Deputy Manager, and now Home Manager at Moore Place.

I’m proud of my experience in building strong, consistent teams and improving the quality of care, including successfully reducing reliance on agency staff to zero for a sustained period in my previous home, helping to improve continuity and outcomes for residents.

Creating a warm, welcoming environment where residents, families and colleagues feel valued and supported is really important to me. My leadership style is friendly, approachable and hands-on—I believe in being visible, leading by example, and encouraging open communication.

You’ll often see me around the home with my Jack Russell, Cathy, who loves being part of daily life and brings plenty of smiles to residents and the team.

I’m committed to ensuring Moore Place is a place where people feel safe, happy and truly at home.
