Anchor's Moore Place provides luxurious and comfortable surroundings to up to 60 older people whilst providing first-class care and support. Moore Place continues to welcome new residents for quality residential and residential dementia care on both a permanent basis and on a shorter term basis.

The home benefits from the pretty surroundings of the Surrey Green belt whilst being set in its own landscaped grounds with outdoor seating areas for customers and their families to enjoy.

Facilities include an activity/cinema room, coffee lounge, a beauty salon and a number of cosy lounges. Bright and spacious bedrooms are designed to the highest standard each with an ensuite wet room and benefiting from modern comforts such as under-floor heating.

A range of care packages are available and these are carefully planned to suit individual needs and interests. Care colleagues strive to work closely with customers and their loved ones and build strong relationships to ensure they receive the best care possible.

Dementia care is available at Moore Place, where care colleagues receive regular training which ensures their approach always reflects best practice.

This is a marvellous care home - the staff are friendly and very helpful. My room is perfect with a lovely view and the food is excellent and varied. There is a friendly atmosphere throughout the home. I would certainly recommend Moore Place to my friends and relatives.

Both my parents moved into Moore Place in December 2018. My mother was rehabilitating after hip replacement and my father has dementia and has lost mobility. Without exception, the carers are kind, friendly, patient and sensitive to my parents differing needs. The rooms are comfortable, clean, beautiful
and very well equipped for all mobility requirements. The food is appetising and varied. The management team are extremely accommodating and supportive and I feel very confident in the care my parents are receiving at Moore Place.

I enjoyed my stay very much. The room was good (although one of the smaller ones) but found the two chairs extremely heavy and hard to move about. The food was generally excellent although quality and choice deteriorated during my stay - more foreign food than a clientele of mainly elderly English people
may have found a bit wearing.


Anchor staff were all kind and helpful, but some of the agency staff were not and this proved very upsetting. Nevertheless, I would not expect to find anywhere I would prefer.

I have only lived here for a few weeks and already I feel "lonely" with no-one to talk to. Meal times are boring as there is mostly no talking from across the table - helped only by the carers trying to get a verbal response.


Equipment is mostly poor - especially in the bathroom but the bed is "generous"

in size as well as the type of bedding.
"Private" outdoor space is small and inadequate - not kept in a tidy condition.

From initial contact through to a fortnight's respite for my husband, we were both treated with the utmost courtesy and kindness. My husband was very well looked after which gave me peace of mind. Good quality, loving care is the first essential. Environment and immediate surroundings are important
too and the home was so beautifully designed and kept. The manager was so reassuring and caring as were all staff. We would not hesitate to use Moore Place in the future and will certainly recommend it. Thank you so much everyone.

This home is a friendly care home. I was made to feel welcome as soon as I arrived.
They have had a lot of problems with the kitchen staff.
The food at one stage was awful but is gradually improving although still leaves much room for improvement.
They run out of many things, cheese, yoghurts, brown
bread, marmalade, even vanilla ice cream to name a few.
We have had many managers recently, none for the better. Very unsettling.
After a fall in the bathroom, I was left calling for help for at least 10 minutes on the floor. What can be done?

We visited Moore Place with my mother and were made to feel welcome. Everyone was very friendly. The Customer Relations Manager gave my mother a tour and was very keen to hear mum's opinion. I liked this as it showed that Mum was the priority.


Excellent facilities and décor: spa bath, hairdressing

salon, beautiful lounges and balconies to sit out in. The bedrooms are large, comfortable, great views, plenty of space for clothes, personal knick-knacks, pictures, etc.
Lots of varied activities for all the residents – days out, exercise, films, etc. The food is superb, with a good selection of options to choose from. The opportunity to have a glass of wine with lunch or supper is lovely.


The staff are all friendly, helpful, endlessly patient. They are always happy to answer any questions. You can see from the reactions of the other residents how much they like them. My mum is absolutely delighted to be there, she's happy and made so many friends. All the residents are treated with respect and dignity.

Staff very friendly and helpful, most enjoy a joke and reciprocate. The only fault is sometimes service is slow, there appears to be no one in charge.
However, I don't think more staff is the answer.

Whilst certainly expensive, Moore Place is a new, bright, friendly home with good facilities. The staff are all very helpful and responsive to the needs of the people they care for. Now that the teething problems have been solved, there is a good range of activities that residents can participate
in or enjoy the privacy and quiet of their own room as they prefer. Overall, I cannot see my mother being as comfortable and cared for in any other home that I have seen. Whilst ageing is a difficult process for all concerned, Moore Place makes those latter years as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

My neighbour used Moore Place Care Home over Christmas as she has no immediate relations. When she fell ill after Christmas at the age of 92 and decided she could not live alone anymore and chose Moore Place because of her past experience.


She has an old friend and a neighbour already in Moore Place

so it was easy to decide her future, comfort and peace of mind was to return and enjoy her later years.

My Step-father has received outstanding care since coming to Moore Place. Since my mother passed away last year, he has found life very difficult at home and has struggled to cope.

My mother is the first occupant of a very well appointed room with an attractive view across the garden. The staff are excellent; very willing and responsive and universally friendly. The decision to move to a care home is never easy but the overall quality of Moore Place has made it a positive experience.

I'm Chelsea Card, and I’m delighted to be returning from maternity leave as the Home Manager at Moore Place.


I’ve had the pleasure of working at Moore Place for the past nine years, and I hold a deep passion and dedication for both the home and our residents. My journey began in 2016 when I joined as a Care Assistant. I truly loved this role, my favourite part was getting to know our residents personally and hearing the many wonderful stories from their incredible lives. Caring for others has always been something I’ve been deeply passionate about.


In early 2018, I progressed into a Team Leader role, where I discovered my love for leadership. I continued to challenge myself, develop my skills, and learn as much as I could, which led to my promotion to Deputy Manager in 2022.


Throughout my time at Moore Place, I’ve remained committed not only to my own professional development but also to supporting Moore Place in delivering the highest standards of care. I’ve gained invaluable experience over the years, and I’m incredibly excited for this next chapter.


After spending the past year on maternity leave, I’m so looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting our new residents, families, and team members. I’m also excited to work alongside Claire again as we continue moving Moore Place forward on its journey.

Hi, I'm Claire Tinson, the Deputy Manager at Moore Place care home in Esher.


My journey in care began 25 years ago when I started as a care assistant in a small independent care home in Esher. After taking a short career break to raise my family, I joined the NHS, where I spent many years working in both clinical and administrative roles. Although I valued my time in the NHS, I soon realised how much I missed the continuity of care and the deep relationships that come from working in a care home setting.


In December 2017, I returned to that environment by joining Moore Place as a bank Care Assistant, and I loved every minute of it. By September 2018, I made the decision to leave the NHS and became a full-time Team Leader at Moore Place, managing the ground floor alongside Chelsea. I spent four incredibly fulfilling years here, and the residents and staff quickly became my second family. This sense of unity and dedication was never more evident than during the COVID-19 pandemic, when—despite the fear and uncertainty—we pulled together as a team and gave everything we had. One of our proudest accomplishments was navigating that time without the need for any agency staff.


I left Moore Place to broaden my management experience and, for the past two and a half years, have been leading a reception team at a world-renowned veterinary practice. While the role brought valuable experience and new challenges, my heart always remained with Moore Place.


When I saw the Deputy Manager position advertised, I knew immediately that I had to apply. I’m absolutely thrilled to return, and I look forward to getting to know all the residents and families, and to supporting them in living happy, fulfilled lives.
