Mum has been at Moore Place for about six years. It’s wonderful. The room, garden, common areas, food and activities are all absolutely excellent. But what really matters is the care, and Moore Place could not be better, from everything I have seen over all those years. All the staff are so kind, patient and understanding to Mum and all the residents. They treat her with love and dignity. It is obvious that they genuinely care. It feels totally safe - in everything from the physical environment to the training and responsiveness of the staff. Many have been there ever since Mum first arrived - which tells much about how very well managed it is. It is not for profit, so the motives are about care. They understand about dementia, which is extremely important as it is not uncommon and indeed is now gradually affecting Mum. They know the importance of family and friends and do everything possible to enable and encourage us to visit. I am hugely grateful and highly recommend it.

I have spent the last couple of months at Moore Place Care Home. Where I have been extremely well looked after by all the staff, regardless of the position they hold. I have been treated as a person and not just a number. If I have any problems, staff find the time to explain things to me. Trips out are arranged, including a trip last month to see a singer, what a treat.
Thank you for caring for what was once a small thing but is now, unfortunately, more major.

Thank you all.

My mum has been living at Moore Place for two years and is settled and happy there and well cared for. She recently celebrated her 100th birthday and the staff and management went out of their way to make it a very special day for her and her family. The chef provided delicious food and a wonderful cake. They had decorated the area and she and her family had a really lovely and memorable afternoon. We are very grateful for the kindness and care of the Moore Place team.

I had to find a care home for Mum at very short notice near the start of Covid, and right from the start, I was impressed with the ease and speed with which getting her from the hospital to Moore Place, recovering from a broken hip, was handled. Mum is very happy there, so much more relaxed than she was in her own home, and I think this has contributed to the fact that her dementia hasn't progressed much at all since she has been there. The dementia floor is always quiet and calm, with enough staff to look after the residents. The staff are very caring and go above and beyond, and I have liaised with the same lovely team leader since Mum has been there. The fact she regularly takes on extra shifts shows how much she cares about her job! The new manager is making a point of getting to know the residents' families, and I'm sure Moore Place will continue to be run as well as it was under the new manager. I really couldn't have chosen a better care home.

My mother, a resident on the specialist dementia 1st floor, for over four years, passed away on 25 January 2023.
From inception to the end of her days at Moore Place, my mother has been the beneficiary of an exceptionally high standard of loving care.
The management teams and key employees have provided a consistent level of operational standards, despite the period covering a global pandemic, and more recently economic and geopolitical turmoil resulting in the highest level of inflation and interest rates for forty years.
The purpose-built facility provides a high standard of accommodation, and most importantly integrated wet rooms, as well as communal areas, giving the residents opportunities for both privacy and quiet, as well as social interaction.

I wholeheartedly recommend this care home for your nearest and dearest.

My mother and father have been residents at Moore Place, for 18 months and 22 months respectively. The love and care they have received have been and continues to be remarkable. All the staff have made them feel like a family. The staff are brilliant and look after them and continue to keep us informed of any changes. I look forward to being a resident!

The warmest and most caring of people that genuinely connect with residents to get to know them individually so much so that family members who visit feel instantly welcomed with warmth and welcome.
Staff team members attend the residence for work daily not because they have to but because they love to.

Thank you for sharing the love and keep it up!

I was of course anxious as to how my mother-in-law would cope in a care home. She had always been independent but the time had come for her to receive more targeted care. When we looked at Moore Place, we immediately became attracted to the home, facilities and the ethos of the care provided to residents. My mother-in-law settled in quite quickly and without any hiccups, it became her home. Staff were always available to her needs and whenever an issue arose as to her wellbeing, staff dealt with it in a timely and considered fashion. I have no doubt this was one of the reasons for the extended life span. It gave us the opportunity to share, not just months but possibly years of quality time with my mother-in-law. I thank the staff and the care provided, for this. We have so many fond memories of our attendances at Moore Place and am pleased that my mother-in-law spent so many years in an environment that she deserved, namely what is rightly called, her home.

Our grandmother was a resident at Moore Place until she recently passed away at the beginning of January. It was a very difficult time for us, but yet the carers never failed to help us during that time. From the second we arrived on that Wednesday morning until the second we left, the love and kindness the carers expressed was always present and appreciated.
In addition, throughout our grandmother's stay at the care home, we never once feared for her safety or loneliness as she was always very well looked after and very well loved by all the workers at Moore Place. It brought us joy knowing that our grandma had found a second home, one which we know she loved, appreciated and enjoyed.
We would like to express our deep thanks and gratitude to everyone at Moore Place, who welcomed our grandmother with open arms and kept her safe and loved during her six years at the home.

Thank you Moore Place!

I was very impressed by how well Moore Place looked after my late mother-in-law. I was sceptical about how well she would fit in because English was not her native language and she was a humble lady of simple means and Moore Place looked so luxurious (I wouldn't have minded staying there myself!). It was the wonderful staff who made her welcome and comfortable and helped her fit in. She recently passed away peacefully and I experienced such warmth and affection towards my mother-in-law in those final days and moments it was lovely to see, and that extended to her whole family. I hope I am looked after as well as that in my old age. Very impressive.

My mother was a founding member of Moore Place since it opened over six years ago. She recently passed away. She arrived at Moore Place in 2016 with dementia after returning back to the UK from her home country, Sicily, following a heavy fall there. She spoke limited English, but that didn't matter. Because the staff went above and beyond to take great care of my mum. They made mamma feel welcomed, loved and respected. Their finest hour was during the Covid pandemic. They were amazing. Kept everyone safe, followed the rules and did everything possible for family to see loved ones. Staff were so imaginative in the ways they kept residents happy and safe. I was humbled by the experience and I owe them all a huge debt of gratitude and feel great respect and affection for them all. My mum was very happy at Moore Place; she loved her carers, her angels. They shared a warm relationship with lots of joy, charm, dignity and fun. And that amazing love and care lasted right up to her death, and beyond.

My mum was a resident at Moore Place for six years. She sadly passed away recently. I have no words that can express my deep thanks and gratitude towards all the carers. Their care and love were visible not only towards my mum but also towards the family. If there was a higher score available, I would not hesitate to give it to them.

Mum was very happy at Moore Place and I am so happy to have been able to call it her home and also ours whenever we visited. Management did a great job at keeping all the residents safe during Covid. I genuinely believe that my mum was with us for all those additional six years, due to the dedicated and committed care that was given by the fantastic staff at Moore Place.

Claire Tinson
Claire TinsonJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2025

Hi, I'm Claire Tinson, the Deputy Manager at Moore Place care home in Esher.

My journey in care began 25 years ago when I started as a care assistant in a small independent care home in Esher. After taking a short career break to raise my family, I joined the NHS, where I spent many years working in both clinical and administrative roles. Although I valued my time in the NHS, I soon realised how much I missed the continuity of care and the deep relationships that come from working in a care home setting.

In December 2017, I returned to that environment by joining Moore Place as a bank Care Assistant, and I loved every minute of it. By September 2018, I made the decision to leave the NHS and became a full-time Team Leader at Moore Place, managing the ground floor alongside Chelsea. I spent four incredibly fulfilling years here, and the residents and staff quickly became my second family. This sense of unity and dedication was never more evident than during the COVID-19 pandemic, when—despite the fear and uncertainty—we pulled together as a team and gave everything we had. One of our proudest accomplishments was navigating that time without the need for any agency staff.

I left Moore Place to broaden my management experience and, for the past two and a half years, have been leading a reception team at a world-renowned veterinary practice. While the role brought valuable experience and new challenges, my heart always remained with Moore Place.

When I saw the Deputy Manager position advertised, I knew immediately that I had to apply. I’m absolutely thrilled to return, and I look forward to getting to know all the residents and families, and to supporting them in living happy, fulfilled lives.

Richard Mansfield
Richard MansfieldJob Title:Moore Place Home ManagerJoined: 2020

I joined Anchor over five years ago, moving into care from a career in hospitality during the COVID-19 pandemic. What started as a temporary role quickly became a real passion—I remember finishing one of my first shifts and realising I’d found something I genuinely loved. From there, I progressed from Care Assistant to Team Leader, then Deputy Manager, and now Home Manager at Moore Place.

I’m proud of my experience in building strong, consistent teams and improving the quality of care, including successfully reducing reliance on agency staff to zero for a sustained period in my previous home, helping to improve continuity and outcomes for residents.

Creating a warm, welcoming environment where residents, families and colleagues feel valued and supported is really important to me. My leadership style is friendly, approachable and hands-on—I believe in being visible, leading by example, and encouraging open communication.

You’ll often see me around the home with my Jack Russell, Cathy, who loves being part of daily life and brings plenty of smiles to residents and the team.

I’m committed to ensuring Moore Place is a place where people feel safe, happy and truly at home.
