Mum has been at Olive Tree House for a few weeks now, and the change in her has been amazing. I cannot praise all the staff enough for their care, kindness, dedication towards mum. You are all amazing and should be very proud of the work you do, a real vocation. A particular shout out to the wonderful activity coordinator who is absolutely brilliant, such a bundle of joy, always smiling and making the residents laugh and coming up with new ideas. As a family, we have also been made to feel very welcome, so thank you all. I was very anxious when mum had to move from her home, but any anxiety quickly vanished down to the professionalism and care provided. Once again thank you

I had read reviews of Olive Tree House before I came and it exceeded all expectations and in particular the friendly family atmosphere created by the staff. The standard of professional care with regard to medication is exemplary, I would have no reservations to recommend Olive Tree House to others.

My Mum has only been at Olive Tree House for just over two weeks now, I just want to say what a fantastic home this is.
Her previous two Nursing homes do not compare to Olive Tree House. We have found a little gem.
Nothing is to much trouble for the carers. I have found all of the Management team , Nurses and carers to be very friendly.
I visited the home twice, on my second visit I knew that Olive Tree House was the place to put my Mum.
My visit was not rushed, I spent over half hour being shown round by one of the team leaders.
On the third day of Mum being there, I took her round all four floors of the building, every member of staff acknowledged us on every floor.
The entrance is very warm and welcoming, there is also an area where you can help yourself to a hot or cold drink.

I know I have made the right decision placing Mum here, I always get a warm welcome form all the team when I go to visit Mum.

My Dad's been at Olive Tree House for 5 weeks now & I just wanted to review it so others know what to expect & perhaps to make the very stressful time of putting a relative in a home a little easier.
We took a chance and didn't even come & look round the home, Dad was admitted straight from hospital, so I trusted that the home the NHS were sending him to would be ok, we were under so much stress it was just easier that way, and WOW!! We really have struck lucky, Olive Tree House is lovely, it's very modern only being about ten years old & purpose built, so everything works, just as it is, not like when an old mansion house has been converted & the lifts aren't even in the right place etc!!
When you first come in, it's a bit like coming into a hotel, there's a lovely cheery receptionist on duty and from then on in the staff are just lovely, nothing is too much trouble for them & they are all really kind to Dad!

Honestly, we absolutely can't fault it!! And the food is great!!!

We are very happy with the care being provided for my father. The nurses are very friendly, helpful and conscientious. He is eating and drinking well, which the nurses help him with. The doctors and nurses are all very professional, and he receives all the medication that he needs. He has been doing very well since he entered the care home last May. He has made one visit to the lounge for a group entertainment, which he enjoyed very much. He also enjoyed a recent visit by a singer to his room. We visit him every week and play old songs to him which he enjoys. Overall, we are very pleased with the care he is receiving in the care home.

The care home staff are exceptional, with our fathers best interest at heart, they listen well, tailor their care to the patients requirements, are always friendly and helpful. They want to understand personal likes of our father so that they can tailor food and activities to meet his needs. I found management to be helpful and very responsive, explaining every step of the process well. The facilities are clean and tidy and modern without too many frills which are often surplus to requirements. I would definitely recommend this care home.

I feel the care is very good and as a nurse RN I cannot fault how ever the food that you serve is sub optimal and I am unsure of the qualifations of your current chef
He is serving frail elderly patients with complex needs and needs to serve appealing food that meets essential nutriantal requirements
Namely protein carbohydrates and vitamins and minerals unfortunately this is not happening . I have not seen one piece of fresh fruit or even stewed fruit
Please learn what foods go together spaghetti and chips are 2 carbohydrates and don't belong together

The nursing care from HCA sis very caring

One concern seems to be lack of staff - for instance we came here in March 2024 always at 11am patients used to be servced with tea or coffee - not anymore. Also staff would be there to talk to and we were able to talk with them if we had problems - not anymore. Also at lunch times tables would be set up - not anymore. Today 31/12/2025 I notice the staff had fetched the meals from the kitchen, surely this is not right or fair. One other thing is the amount of food waste there is after every meal I have spoken to assitant manager about this and it would be looked into.

As the relative of a new resident, I am still getting to know Olive Tree House. From first impressions, I would say its greatest asset is the staff who have been friendly, helpful, informative and professional, regardless of role and status. We have been made welcome, and encouraged to participate in the collective life of the Home and make full use of its facilities. I personally appreciate and celebrate the multi-cultural diversity of the staff, although my elderly Mum struggles at times with unusual accents and names, and is not always sure what is being said to her. That said, she is becoming very fond of some of the staff who attend to her needs on a regular basis. We have attended a couple of activity sessions with Liz which my Mum enjoyed and benefited from very much. Liz's energy and enthusiasm is infectious! The food is adequate but not always as hot as it should be. There have been issues around other residents wandering into Mum's room, which can be distressing.

I can't give enough praise for the fantastic nursing staff, carers, cleaners, administrators, finance and maintenance teams at Olive Tree.

The nursing team and carers have gone above and beyond with care. They are very good at anticipating needs and have a thoughtful sympathetic and kind approach - even when circumstances are problematic.
