Park View Gloucester

When leaving, the staff said, “hope we see you again”, to which she replied, “ I hope not”. She’d thought they’d meant when she was incapacitated, not meaning to be hurtful as she’d be happy to return again for respite. Thanks all.

Small touches made a difference - flowers in from and welcome card. Staff very welcoming and caring, knew visitors names and greeted warmly, own kitchen on site was appreciated. Although for respite, so short stay, was a positive experience for the whole family.

A great experience from the moment we went to took a look around, to the one-week respite stay, which my mother enjoyed immensely. The surroundings were fresh and state of the art and the staff were professional and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and my mother got to take part in activities and enjoy food which she wouldn't necessarily have in her current care environment. She is already looking forward to her next visit which also means that we can now look forward to our next family holiday, knowing that she will be looked after and enjoy her stay at Park View.

My mum stayed for 10 days respite care. Was her first experience of care homes. She was anxious about being left without her immediate family. We looked around other local care homes. Park Veiw is purpose built therefore practically everything is right. The rooms are spacious, Mum had a choice of three rooms and choose a room with a wonderful view of the park. The staff were so lovely and kind from the start. When we collected Mum after a much needed rest . She was happy and had made friends with residents and staff alike. Food was amazing, Mum particularly enjoyed the daily cake trolley!

Park View provides a bright, positive establishment with caring, observant staff. Staff to resident ratios mean that there is always someone nearby to help if needed and the overall impression is of a professional, well-organised and well-run care home. Since Mum moved in she has brightened up considerably and now considers the place to be home.

I was recommended Park View Gloucester by a family friend, the best thing that ever happened. They care - it is as simple as that. They looked after my dad as one of their own family, and they helped him and the family. Nothing ever seemed too much for them, even though you could see they had so much to do. Always calm and caring, looking after each and all, they knew their ways. I cannot speak any higher of them. Thank you, Park View.

Two weeks of respite care. I thoroughly enjoyed the frequency and variety of activities. The food was excellent, and the care I received was of a high standard and appropriate to my needs. One small issue, the lack of height of the commode meant that often two carers were required to raise me from it.

A bright, caring, competent environment for my convalescing mother. Very impressed with the level of cleanliness and the congeniality of staff members, which all speeds recovery. A big thank you to all staff involved.

I am staying at Park View for a period of convalescence and have found the home to be bright and airy and beautifully clean. The care staff are very helpful and attentive to all. The food is well cooked from scratch on the premises and there are always alternatives should I wish.

Park View is an excellent care home where the staff really care for the residents. The facilities are good and the regular contact with relatives and carers is handled very well. My father is very happy at Park View.

The management and staff are outstanding. Facilities are spotless and beautifully maintained. The meals are varied and well presented. Mum's room is always spotless and tidy. In addition to chats with the staff, when I visit I also receive a weekly telephone call advising me of any changes to medication and Mum's health in general. The problems caused by Covid-19 were handled with great professionalism, consideration and quiet confidence.

My mother has only been here for a month but we are very pleased with the level of care that she is receiving and the support that has been given to us as a family. Her room is bright and cheerful. There is a very good level of activities.

The manager of the provision has been extremely helpful in supporting her through a difficult transition with her housing and care. She is currently homeless and accessing housing support with a number of care and support needs. The operations manager has personalised her care and support so that she feels valued and accepted amongst professionals and residents within the setting, enjoys a range of activities and receives emotional support when she is feeling low or nervous about her current situation.

I am grateful that the operations manager and her team have made her transition a smooth and calm process and continue to provide excellent care and support to her whilst securing alternative accommodation.

Never having had respite care before we didn’t know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised by the welcome we received and the lovely flowers in our room. The rooms were very pleasant and included a walk-in shower. We were able to go to the dining room for our meals. The home-cooked food was excellent with a varied menu choice or alternatives were available. Personal care was offered and much appreciated. We were provided with personal alarms so that we could summon help 24 hours a day.

There was a schedule of daily activities to take part in we particularly enjoyed the musical concerts. It was lovely to be able to sit out in the garden on the sunnier days. All in all, we had a really enjoyable stay and the respite we needed. If the need arises in the future for further respite care then we would be very happy to return and would recommend Park View to others.

The management and staff at Park View Gloucester are all frankly amazing. They work as a team to look after the residents and it would not be fair to single out just one person for praise, they all deserve recognition! They all work to develop a rapport with their residents and it shows. Thank you Park View Gloucester.

Like many people trying to choose the best option for an aged parent, I visited a few different residential care homes before sitting down with my Dad and choosing Park View. I was immediately impressed by the building, facilities, management, the size of the room that was to be provided and last but not least the staff. Park View is very well managed, is spotlessly clean and the building is nicely decorated and very well maintained.

The care provided for my father has been faultless and it's the small touches to do that bit extra for his comfort and well being that stand out. I am also very impressed with the management of the medical needs that my father has. To do what has been done during the pandemic has been remarkable and to face all of the problems that the staff have had with such cheerfulness and good humour is a real credit to them all. I have no qualms about recommending Park View and I wish to thank them for what they do and how they do it.

Does what it says on the tin and Mum is cared for.

The facilities at Park View are very good and the staff are always very happy to try and accommodate any special/ad-hoc requirements. They are always supportive and sympathetic to my mother’s situation and needs and are always kind and caring.

We cannot fault Park View. My parents have been there for 10 months and are really happy. The staff are amazing, always cheerful, caring and extremely professional. We are certain that Mum and Dad’s life will be extended as a result of their residency. Thank you for your wonderful work. Kind regards.

Following a fall in which I fractured a bone in my pelvis, I decided to go into residential care for a month. Park View was an excellent choice after a search for a care home to cope with my complex medical needs.

After my stay, I had recovered sufficiently to return home to my wife, having regained a great deal of my mobility and confidence. I felt extremely well-fed in a well-balanced way with excellent cooked meals and some of my personal choice. The home has lovely gardens to sit out in and a good entertainment programme for older residents.

All staff were very caring and friendly in a professional manner, but a very small minority of the overnight staff had poor command of English. There is a very competent nurse on-site, caring people at all levels, high standards of cleanliness and a very personal interest taken by senior staff in residents' well-being.

Should I need respite care in the future there is no doubt that I will book into Park View again (and again)!
