After visiting other Care Homes in the area it quickly became apparent that Pear Tree House was leaps and bounds above the rest.
My brother Tibor became a resident on St Patrick's day 17 March 2026 and has settled in extremely well, with all of his family commenting on how well he is cared for and how well the Care Home is run and managed.
The Staff and Management are always on hand, courteous and exceptionally helpful in everything they do. Every task is carried out professionally.
Tibor's family know from the visits by various members and by talking to Tibor and staff that he is most certainly in the best place possible for all his care requirements.
I can only add my personal thanks to all the Management and Staff at this exceptional Care Home.
Thank You.
On behalf of Tibor's family.

My choice of care for my husband of 54yrs is very important to me and I chose Pear Tree House of which I have only got praise he is clean well fed and most importantly happy.

The staff really take time and care in all their actions with the residents, the home itself always seems to have something going on and it's a joy to see all the residents not just sitting asleep in their chairs but enjoying and participating in whatever is going on at that time.

Pear Tree House is a good quality building, nicely flitted out with wonderful caring staff. Over the past 6 months whilst being sold to Care UK, staffing levels have been allowed to fall to what appears to be a legal minimum. This remains the case and although it is being addressed, for now the great staff are overstretched and lack the time to interact with residents. Residents needing assistance dressing often have long waits.
Any verbal requests from family members can be overlooked. Emails are recommended.
Food remains a constant complaint from residents. Any trips out are far and few between.

Hopefully things will improve when staffing levels increase.

When I went to look round the home I was made so welcome. Gave me the confidence to know that this is the right place for my mum. The home is beautiful and clean. The food is good and nourishing. My mum moved from a different home. She was unhealthy and underweight. She is now thriving. The care is excellent . She gets her hair done and has chiropody treatment. She looks healthy, clean and tidy. The staff are lovely. Very jolly and friendly. There's a lovely feel in the home. Excellent

Very very sad to see mum at Pear Tree house today. It was 11 o clock she was struggling to eat cold scrambled egg, nearly edible beans and cold toast . She had not drunk some juice that had been left on a table to far away to reach.
Three pairs of pee soaked pants were in a fruit bowl and no brushes, toothpaste or mouth rinse were in bathroom. There was black mold in the fridge and the overall standard of cleaning was very low.

Overall it was very disappointing, considering she has been classed a a sexual predator after being found in a man's bed after 'wandering'. None of this information has been related to me by staff. I realise I have to report this and am now hoping to move her. As far as I can see she has had little or no care socially, has attended no events and is left to her own devices. Please tell me seeing this with my own eyes it is not the case.

I spent 2 weeks at Pear Tree House Care Home. I chose to stay there because my son, who is my carer, and his family needed a holiday. The 2-week stay at Pear Tree House certainly gave me a holiday and I would most certainly not hesitate to stay again.

My mum has been a resident at Pear Tree House for three months now and I can wholeheartedly recommend this excellent care home.
My mum resisted going into residential care, even though it was necessary. The staff here have been absolutely brilliant in helping my mum settle in to her new surroundings and feel welcome in her new home.
Everything is taken care of. Everything, from medical attention to dietary preferences to entertainment. This means that I have complete confidence that my mum is receiving the best of care and attention.
The rooms and facilities are modern and well appointed.

The ratio of staff to residents is generous, and there has always been ample professional care available. Whenever I have a question or feedback, the staff on duty have always been extremely helpful and motivated. My mum is happier, better cared for, and has made friends there. I highly recommend this excellent home.

We first met the Manager.
She was professional, friendly and very welcoming.
My mum has been in for 2 weeks. She has vascular dementia. She has been welcomed and settled in during the last couple of weeks.
I feel my mother is treated with dignity.

My brother visited and fell poorly before he went to see my mother. The manager and her team looked after my brother until we could manage to get him to the hospital.

Pear Tree House in Wesham is a first class care home. Excellent staff/food/carers/nurses. Nothing is too much trouble and I have been impressed by the organisation of my mum's care. Pear Tree is the best home I have seen and know that everything is being done for mum's wellbeing/comfort/quality of life. No reservations in recommending Pear Tree.

My mum has stayed for respite periods of up to 8 weeks at a time (for roughly 2 years now) and she has always been well cared for and treated with respect. The rooms at The Pear Tree House are homely, modern and clean and have comfy beds, TVs, mini-fridge, ensuite bathroom and nice views of the garden. The premises are always kept clean and tidy and they have a lobby that resembles a hotel lobby. There are no unpleasant odours and it always smells fresh. The Pear Tree was decorated in a lovely fashion at Christmas which is fantastic for residents and relatives. There is a hair salon, small cinema and several lounges, garden rooms and dining areas. Food is lovely and residents have menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner and a snack menu which can be requested. The care home has good and easy access to GPs, chiropodists and opticians, so this is a major benefit. The home is also secure, so people can't leave or have access without staff permission. I feel very content for them to look after my mum.

Pear Tree House is a lovely warm, welcoming place with a sincerely caring staff. Each resident is treated with great respect and as an individual, any idiosyncrasies are known and dealt with without problem. Every person employed there knows the name of each resident and engages readily with them, they are also kind and helpful to visitors.
My Dad has been a resident since November 2024 and I am confident that he is happy and content there. His strength has improved and he is encouraged to do what he is able to do with the knowledge and reassurance that there is always somebody there to help. His carers have given him back his dignity, he is well-groomed, neat and tidy.

Any health issues are dealt with immediately and we are kept well informed of any concerns. The facilities are excellent and the home is constantly being cleaned so it is spotless. The availability and choice of food is amazing with a very dedicated catering staff. I would not hesitate to recommend Pear Tree House.

We couldn't be happier with the whole experience at Pear Tree House. Every member of staff that we meet is so welcoming and professional, they treat the residents and visitors alike with respect and kindness. The home and its facilities provide everything that my aunt needs to support her physical and emotional needs, and we've watched her come out of her shell and relax significantly since she arrived.
It is always a pleasure to visit my aunt now, and I leave knowing that she is in a very good, happy and safe place.

Thank you to all the staff throughout the organisation for all that you do, we really appreciate it.

All staff are very nice and caring to my wife who has Alzheimer's dementia. She is treated with a great deal of respect and I consider Danforth Care home to be the best, possibly, in the North West. All the staff are very helpful in all aspects of care. They are all friendly and cheerful, no matter what they have had to deal with, regarding difficult people.

My mother is thriving in a caring environment with great carers and staff. There's always something going on with entertainment or activities or days out with themed meals and silver service adding to a great experience at meal times. Mum always looks clean and well dressed with her hair being done on a regular basis within the premises. No problems with Pear Tree House.
My cousin has been looked after very well since she has been there, October 2023.
The place is lovely and the staff are great.
Every resident was given an Xmas present, which was a lovely thought.
The food is good and the residents can book a room for their birthday and food is provided for their friends and relatives.

Overall 10/10

This is a caring and loving environment for my dad. The staff place the residents front and centre. The surroundings are lovely and cannot be faulted. Dad's room is warm, comfy and a quiet place if you don't want to join in on occasion. More than happy with where he is at this time of life. When I go home I don't worry about how he is and how he is being treated. Very nice care home.
