My parents moved here from another local care home about 8 weeks ago. The first thing that struck me on their initial tour was the genuine friendliness of the staff, management, and carers. There were no false smiles, just real genuine care. I wasn't expecting to move my parents after a year in a previous home (not a pleasant experience for them), but this time things are very different. The facilities are excellent, the food is remarkable, our parents tell us every day what lovely things they have eaten, the freshness, presentation, and quality of the food is top restaurant standard. The place is light bright and welcoming and they settled in immediately, nothing was too much trouble when arranging their rooms upon entry. The personal care given is done with such dignity and care and there is a real thought for the welfare of the residents. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place, fantastic on every level!
What a truly fabulous review for our wonderful home and remarkable staff, we strive to deliver excellence throughout to ensure quality care and service to all our wonderful residents, we are so pleased that you as a family are extremely happy with the care and service delivered. It will give us great pleasure to pass your feedback to our team. Thank you.
What an amazing place to live. My uncle moved from another care home where he was unhappy and lost weight. Since being/living at Portsdown View Care Home he is a different person. He smiles and laughs, he is joining in with activities and eating very well. He loves the food, and staff, for sure and he has gained weight. All I can say is wow, the home, facilities, staff and food are superb. I have never met such a lovely team (actually I would call them family). Nothing is too much for them and they definitely go the extra mile plus more. I would 100% recommend (I already have) this home to anyone.
We cannot thank you enough for your stunning review of our home we are so glad you are pleased with the care and support given to your uncle, we strive to deliver the best care and service daily. We truly appreciate your time in giving us this review. Thank you again we will pass your feedback to the team.
I cannot praise the home enough. The staff are so genuinely caring. The environment is five stars. Mum is really happy and kept motivated to enjoy life to the best of her ability. The home is completely inclusive and should be used as a role model for all other homes. Mum continually praises staff and is extremely happy. We never feel guilty about not seeing her for a few days, as we know she is being very well looked after. As a family, we cannot thank you enough.

My mother has settled so well. We are just amazed at how happy and content she is. She is certainly living her best life. The staff are always friendly and kind. We can see that Mum is content and praises the staff and home. A well-thought-out concept here. It certainly compares with a 5* hotel but better.

There is nothing to criticise about this home. As soon as you walk through the door, you feel you are amongst friends. Everyone is so professional and caring. We all feel, as a family, that we can relax knowing that my mother-in-law could not receive any better care. Pippa's journey in the health and social care sector began at the age of 18 when she commenced her Registered Nurse training at United Bulawayo Hospitals in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. In 2002, she transitioned to the UK, where she furthered her career in Leadership and Management, bringing with her a wealth of experience and unwavering dedication. Pippa’s skill set as a Registered Nurse will undoubtedly help to further support some of our residents.
Pippa is deeply committed to ensuring the highest quality of life for each resident she cares for. She aims to create an environment that genuinely feels like home, extending her passion for person-centred care not only to the residents but also to their families.

I have developed extensive experience in my role as a Deputy Manager, where I have been responsible for supporting the overall day-to-day running of the service while ensuring the highest standards of care are consistently delivered.

My responsibilities have included handling inbound and outbound calls, coordinating assessments, managing follow-ups, as I take pride in building trust, actively listening to individual circumstances, and providing clear, supportive guidance on care options

I have worked in the care sector for the past ten years, having previously worked in or been involved in the construction industry. I have been working for Connaught Care since May 2023 and I am enjoying the challenges and comradery that working with a new highly motivated & dedicated team brings.

I have had over 2 years of experience in the hospitality industry. From working in Hotel Hospitality to the care sector.

I love making residents look good, also making them feel totally relaxed and pampered at all times.
