Henbrook House Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
We had an impromptu tour including laundry and kitchen from a member of the entertainment team, who demonstrated his passion for the place and his role.
We called late morning when mum was ready to be discharged from hospital. The person we needed was not on site but called us back and made arrangements
for a move the next day (new years eve) not the easiest time of the year.
Mums face was a picture of joy as she was wheeled through the door. We had been offered food whilst waiting.
Mum was exhausted but loved her room, she raved about the full English breakfast and staff made sure she had another the next day. Staff could not do enough to make her feel welcome.
Mum has started to join the activities, and we loved a picture on the social media group of her wearing a balloon crown.
Friday she entertained my wife with Fish, Chips, and Prosecco.
Henbrook is nothing like a an 'old peoples home.' It is somewhere between a care home and hotel. It is her home.

I spent 11 days at Henbrook House.
I enjoyed my stay. I was well cared for, treated with dignity and respect.
Very comfortable with staff who were very attentive. Plenty of interesting activities taking place. Good food and good social events for all to participate in. Being able to have my hair

Mum moved to The Chase at the end of October 2025. All staff members made mum feel at home from the outset despite her anxieties. Since this time I have visited on a regular basis and have always found mum's room clean and tidy and mum well dressed and cared for. Mum is still settling in but I'm sure
everyone will continue to support her. Food choices are good and there are daily activities which she joins in with.
Reply from Laura Adams, CRM at The ChaseThank you very much for your kind and thoughtful feedback. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience since your mum moved to The Chase.
We are so pleased to hear that our team helped your mum feel at home from the outset and supported her through her initial anxieties.
Settling into a new home can take time, and please be assured that we will continue to support your mum at her own pace. It's lovely to hear that she is beginning to enjoy the food choices and is joining in with daily activities.
Thank you again for your trust and confidence in our team. We are very happy to have your mum as part of our community and will continue to do all we can to support her wellbeing.

I am very happy to be a resident here. Without exceptions all the staff are kind and friendly which I think is most important, and they are also efficient. Activities are varied and there is always something to do. Food is very good - I have never gone hungry at mealtimes for there is plenty of choice.
Wherever I go in the building there is always a friendly person to talk to. I have experienced life in one other home - only briefly - and I know how lucky we are here!

It was very hard & emotional to make a decision to settle mum at Henbrook House.

The initial telephone queries were reassuring and understanding & empathy was given.

The moment we walked in the door everybody was so welcoming, helpful & kind.

Henbrook House staff are happy, friendly &

positive. They encourage mum to join in with activities & reassure her to rebuild her confidence.

There is always someone who will advise you if you have a problem or question.

My Mum was 99 in December 2025 and had a hospital appointment on her actual birthday. I thought it would be lovely to take Mum to Willowbrook on the day before her birthday to celebrate with staff and residents before Mum went into Respite on the 19th December.

We decided to have some lunch with

Mum and my husband, Brother and Sister in law came too.

All the team did Mum proud. We didn't
know they had booked the private dining room for us. They had also put banners and balloons in the room for Mum.

The chef had baked Mum a cake which was beautiful and they even gave Mum a Birthday Box from all the staff/team.

It really made her day so again, a huge thank you to everyone involved.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
After 5 years caring for my wife, who has Vascular Dementia, I was becoming quite stressed and my GP referred me to the NHS specialist responsible for the wellbeing of unpaid Carers. Her immediate advice was that I needed a break and she recommended that I should arrange for my wife to have 2 weeks
of respite care at Waterhaven Place. After a meeting with the Manager and a guided tour I realised how nice the people and the environment are and that it would be very suitable for my wife. I visited her several times during the 2 weeks of respite care - she was very settled and clearly being looked after very well. When she returned home she was noticeably less anxious and more talkative. However, as the Cares had looked after her so well, she did expect me to do more ! This is not a problem, because I now realise that I can continue caring for her as long as she has regular breaks at Waterhaven Place.
Reply from Cheryl Tyson, Customer Relations Manager at Waterhaven PlaceThank you for your lovely review and for sharing your experience. Were so pleased to hear that your wife felt settled and well cared for during her respite stay, and that you were able to have a much-needed break. Its especially encouraging to know she returned home feeling calmer and more confident. Supporting both our residents and their carers is very important to us, and were glad Waterhaven Place can continue to be part of your ongoing support.

My Dad has settled in well here and it quickly felt like home for him. They were able to collect him with their transport and his room when he arrived was immaculate, homely and with special touches like magazines.
The care staff are friendly and approachable and have taken time to get to know him.
The food is brilliant very high quality and being able to eat lunch here with him is lovely especially as we can no longer take him out.
The activities here have been great lots of events and music with the highlight being a miniature pony that Dad loved. He sees the puppy which comes in weekly and he looks forward to that.
The care staff have managed his complex medications well and have collaborated with the district nurses when needed.
I feel reassured he is safe and well cared for and he classes here as home. You can't put a price on that.

Dad has been a resident since April 2025, and has settled in and now calls Henbrook home. The staff are amazing, friendly and always helpful.
The food is exceptional and although Dad doesn't eat much, he really enjoys the food. My sister and I have had lunch with Dad a couple of times and it's lovely
that we can do that.
One little negative point is that when I visit Dad after work in the week at just after 17:30, there is often no one on reception and I have to wait to be let in, and also when I take Dad out for a smoke we then can't get back in.
Henbrook is always clean, lovely and warm and is a very welcoming home. We know that Dad has everything he needs and can't fault the care at Henbrook
