My sister and I were looking for residential care for our mum and visited many care homes in the area. Henbrook House stood out because it feels more like a luxury hotel. All the staff are welcoming and the facilities are outstanding. Mum seems to have settled down to life in Henbrook and is enjoying
the lovely food and all the entertainment. She also loves having her hair and nails done regularly. I'm very happy with mum's care and feel she is safe, happy and well looked after.

Waterhaven Place

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I feel that my wife is in an excellent home and receiving the best level of care and attention. All the staff are very supportive: from the housekeeping staff to the senior management. Not just supportive of my wife's needs but of me and our family. The rooms are spacious, full of light and high quality
furnishings. The facilities available to my wife are great: hair, spa, podiatry, cinema room, bistro/cafe. Thoughtful outings and activities are organised every week. The one to one care and time that the staff have for every resident is excellent. While I very much miss having my wife at home with me, given her diagnosis of Lewy body Dementia, it had become impossible to look after her safely at home. Waterhaven made this decision easier for me, as I was reassured of the care and love that would be extended to my wife. I am able to visit whenever I want and enjoy time with my wife, knowing that she is more peaceful and safe there.
Reply from Cheryl Tyson, Customer Relations Manager at Waterhaven PlaceThank you for your kind and heartfelt review. We are honoured to care for your wife and delighted to hear that both she and your family feel supported by our team.

We understand how difficult this journey can be, and we're grateful for the trust you place in us. Your lovely comments will be shared with our team, who work hard every day to ensure our residents feel safe, comfortable and cared for.

Henbrook House Care Home

from Vivienne D (Daughter of Resident) published on 12 June 2026

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Firstly, I would like to thank the team for the care provided to my father during his respite stay. The facilities were of an exemplary standard, creating a welcoming environment for residents and families. The food was also excellent, with a good variety of meals and snacks available throughout the
day.
There were, however, some areas where our expectations were not met. Within the first three days, my father was dressed in another resident's clothing, despite none of his clothes having been sent to the laundry. We were also assured he would receive diabetic foot care during his stay, as we had cancelled his regular appointment, but this did not take place.
My father reported that while staff responded quickly to call bells, requests were sometimes left incomplete, with promised follow-ups delayed or forgotten. Finally, we had been advised he would be able to enjoy a full bath during his stay, something he has been unable to do for over a year, but this did not happen.
Reply from Michael Zinaka, General Manager at Henbrook House Care HomeThank you for your kind words about our facilities, food, and the care provided during your father's respite stay - your feedback means a great deal to our team.

We sincerely apologise that some aspects fell short of the high standards we set ourselves. The clothing and call bell concerns have been thoroughly investigated and we are taking direct action to prevent recurrence. Regarding the bath, we are sorry this did not take place during his stay, as beyond his ensuite shower room that he utilised consistently, this was available to him throughout his stay.

On diabetic foot care - this was not included in the care planning formulated at admission, and we were not made aware of the cancelled community appointment. Had we known, we would have ensured this was arranged immediately. We welcome the opportunity to discuss this further.

We are grateful for this feedback as it helps us continuously improve. We hope you will consider returning to us in future.

We were looking for a home for my mother of 98.
We were lucky to find Meadowbrook.
Denise the manager was friendly and very helpful.
Unbelievably she managed to place my mother in the home within a week!
Everything went really smoothly and professionally.
She has been there just over a week
and she is a changed woman. She now occupies her self and makes conversation and laughs and joins in.
We haven't seen her so happy for a quite a while! and she said to me she is very happy being there and couldn't go back home now. Amazing in a week with Denise and her staff to support her she couldn't be happier
She is joining in the activities and is enjoying life again. Cannot fault the home.
Denise and her smiling friendly helpful staff have been brilliant. My sister and I do not have to worry anymore about her being lonely as mother is being taken care of thanks to Meadowbrook care home. Thank you all

The difficult and emotional decision to find care for our mum was not an easy one, but from the very beginning, Waterhaven Place made us feel supported and reassured throughout the process.
The level of care and attention they have shown in helping our mum settle in has been exceptional. Her room is
spacious, bright, and beautifully furnished, and the facilities throughout are immaculate, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed.
There is a wonderful range of stimulating and engaging activities, and everything is included, from hair and spa treatments to podiatry, food, and drinks.
Most importantly, every member of staff is genuinely caring, compassionate, and attentive. We truly feel our mum is being looked after with kindness and dignity every day.

I truly believe that if it hadn't been for the quality and loving care my husband received from all the staff when
