Originally my friend booked into Henbrook House for some respite care following treatment in hospital. A calm welcoming atmosphere and excellent food together with the wonderful facilities, impressed so much she decided to stay permanently. From the moment we contacted them, the staff have been amazingly
helpful and very efficient in settling my friend in. Nothing is too much trouble and she feels safe, well looked after and happy.

My sister and I were looking for residential care for our mum and visited many care homes in the area. Henbrook House stood out because it feels more like a luxury hotel. All the staff are welcoming and the facilities are outstanding. Mum seems to have settled down to life in Henbrook and is enjoying
the lovely food and all the entertainment. She also loves having her hair and nails done regularly. I'm very happy with mum's care and feel she is safe, happy and well looked after.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Firstly, I would like to thank the team for the care provided to my father during his respite stay. The facilities were of an exemplary standard, creating a welcoming environment for residents and families. The food was also excellent, with a good variety of meals and snacks available throughout the
day.
There were, however, some areas where our expectations were not met. Within the first three days, my father was dressed in another resident's clothing, despite none of his clothes having been sent to the laundry. We were also assured he would receive diabetic foot care during his stay, as we had cancelled his regular appointment, but this did not take place.
My father reported that while staff responded quickly to call bells, requests were sometimes left incomplete, with promised follow-ups delayed or forgotten. Finally, we had been advised he would be able to enjoy a full bath during his stay, something he has been unable to do for over a year, but this did not happen.
Reply from Michael Zinaka, General Manager at Henbrook House Care HomeThank you for your kind words about our facilities, food, and the care provided during your father's respite stay - your feedback means a great deal to our team.

We sincerely apologise that some aspects fell short of the high standards we set ourselves. The clothing and call bell concerns have been thoroughly investigated and we are taking direct action to prevent recurrence. Regarding the bath, we are sorry this did not take place during his stay, as beyond his ensuite shower room that he utilised consistently, this was available to him throughout his stay.

On diabetic foot care - this was not included in the care planning formulated at admission, and we were not made aware of the cancelled community appointment. Had we known, we would have ensured this was arranged immediately. We welcome the opportunity to discuss this further.

We are grateful for this feedback as it helps us continuously improve. We hope you will consider returning to us in future.

I have been at The Chase for over 2 weeks on arrival I was feeling awful having broken my neck, but not feel so much better due to the excellent service, unbelievable in every aspect staff, food, even entertained my family in the special private dining room, delicious lunch, wine, excellent service
all free!! I cannot fault here. Activitys for everyone are organised by the very thoughtful staff, from flower arranging so there are flowers always everywhere. I shall truly miss here. Especially my help in the shower and everything else.
Reply from Laura Adams, CRM at The ChaseThank you so much for your incredibly kind and heartfelt review. We are truly delighted to hear that your stay at The Chase has helped you feel so much better following such a difficult time after breaking your neck.
It means the world to us that you appreciated the care and support from our team, as well as the food, activities, and special moments shared with your family in our private dining room. Creating a warm, welcoming, and uplifting environment for all our residents and guests is exactly what we strive for every day.
Your lovely comments about the staff, flower arranging activities, and the personal care you received, especially with daily support, will mean so much to everyone here. We are very proud of our team and will ensure your kind words are shared with them all.

Henbrook House Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My sister (M) who suffers with moderate Alzheimer's living alone in her own home and consistently refused home help, was initially admitted for two weeks as she was forgetting to eat properly and hiding her medication, which was proving a burden, distress and worry for us siblings, and two weeks respite
was desperately needed.

Within a week we noticed such an improvement. M was smiling, joking and getting involved in the varied activities provided. With her medications being managed effectively, and the varied menu's weekly - eating properly, and engaging in social activities, M is now more active, laughing and enjoying life.

Towards end of first week, M said "I think I'd like to stay here a bit longer". M is now a permanent resident, and we are just so amazed, and happy at what a difference Henbrook House has made to her life.

We have our sister back, full of energy and "sass", so relieved M is so happy and safe. Henbrook has changed M's and our lives beyond expectations.

This was our dad's second stay at The Chase, and once again we honestly can't thank the staff enough. From the moment he arrived, he was made to feel so welcome, and that warmth extends to us as a family every single time we visit. Nothing ever feels like too much trouble, and there is always a friendly
face, a kind word, and a genuine sense that they really care.
The care our dad receives is absolutely fantastic. He is so well looked after, and it's clear that the staff take real pride in what they do. They go above and beyond to make sure he is comfortable, supported, and treated with dignity at all times. Knowing he is in such safe and caring hands means everything to us. When he's there, we can truly relax, knowing he is being so well cared for, which is something you can't put a price on. Thank you to everyone at The Chase for the incredible care, kindness, and effort you show day in and day out. We are so grateful for everything you do.
Reply from Laura Adams, CRM at The ChaseThank you so much for your incredibly kind words. It truly means the world to us that you took the time to share your experience.
We are so pleased that your dad's second stay with us has been just as positive as his first. Making both our residents and their families feel welcome, supported, and valued is at the heart of everything we do, so it's wonderful to hear that this has been your experience each time you visit.
Your comments about the team will be shared with everyone - they will be so proud to know their care, compassion, and dedication have made such a difference. Providing care with dignity, warmth, and genuine kindness is something we are deeply committed to, and knowing that you feel able to relax when your dad is with us is the greatest compliment we could receive.
Thank you again for your trust and gratitude. It is a privilege to care for your dad, and we look forward to continuing to support you all in any way we can.

From the very first call, to book a visit, to then viewing the Chase, we knew it was the best place for my mother in law.
It has such a homely atmosphere and every member of staff we have interacted with are absolutely professional, kind and supportive.
It has been 3 weeks since my mother in law
moved in and she has clearly felt very comfortable and settled. The food is delicious and they have really thought about the way the choices are given to the dementia residents. Instead of a list of choices, the meals are plated for them to see what they want. How brilliant is that. The rooms are so lovely and all the clothes have their labelling tags put on at arrival. The staff really know their residents and want the best for them and it really shows.
It was a difficult decision to make for my mother in law, but seeing her joining the different activities, looking more relaxed, it's clear to see that the Chase invests in its staff which then shows in their high level of care.
Reply from Laura Adams, CRM at The ChaseThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful message. It truly means a great deal to us.
We are delighted to hear that from your very first contact with The Chase you felt confident it was the right place for your mother-in-law. Creating a welcoming, homely environment and offering support from the very beginning is extremely important to us, so it is lovely to know this was your experience.
We are especially pleased to hear how comfortable and settled your mother-in-law has become in such a short time. Your comments about the food, the way choices are presented to residents living with dementia, and the attention to detail with rooms and clothing labelling are greatly appreciated. These small but meaningful touches are all part of our commitment to providing person-centred care.
It is also wonderful to hear that she is enjoying the activities and appears more relaxed. We will be sure to share your kind words with our team.

My step-mother has advanced Alzheimer's. She has recently moved into The Chase on a permanent basis because we could no longer ensure her safety at home. The staff made enormous efforts to make her feel welcome, understand her needs and help her settle in. The transition has been very successful
and we, together with her friends who have visited, believe she has settled extremely well and is happy.
All of the staff are friendly and professional and all already appear to be well acquainted with my step-mother.
Reply from Laura Adams, CRM at The ChaseThank you so much for taking the time to write such a thoughtful reply.

Supporting residents through such an important change is something we take very seriously, and it means a great deal to know that our efforts have helped her feel safe, comfortable, and happy.
Your kind words about our team will be shared with the staff, who are deeply committed to providing compassionate, person-centred care and building meaningful relationships with every resident. Knowing that this has made a difference is incredibly rewarding for us all.

There are times in your life that are really hard and it is the people around you that help you get through. When I decided to put dad into Henbrook I felt guilty like I had failed in my bid to look after him and keep my promise to mum. The staff were amazing helped him settle, helped me come to realise
I had made a great decision. Sadly today we lost my father, he chose to spend his last week at Henbrook not in hospital. Every minute of the last week the staff have showed compassion, support empathy and love not only for my dad but for me and my family. They have gone above and beyond. Today I'm not only grieving the loss of my dad but also of a family of staff I had known only 6 months but who had become an extension of my family and most of all friends. I will miss coming into the home and seeing all of you Thank you for absolutely everything and for the support shown in those final days.

We had an impromptu tour including laundry and kitchen from a member of the entertainment team, who demonstrated his passion for the place and his role.
We called late morning when mum was ready to be discharged from hospital. The person we needed was not on site but called us back and made arrangements
for a move the next day (new years eve) not the easiest time of the year.
Mums face was a picture of joy as she was wheeled through the door. We had been offered food whilst waiting.
Mum was exhausted but loved her room, she raved about the full English breakfast and staff made sure she had another the next day. Staff could not do enough to make her feel welcome.
Mum has started to join the activities, and we loved a picture on the social media group of her wearing a balloon crown.
Friday she entertained my wife with Fish, Chips, and Prosecco.
Henbrook is nothing like a an 'old peoples home.' It is somewhere between a care home and hotel. It is her home.

Mum moved to The Chase at the end of October 2025. All staff members made mum feel at home from the outset despite her anxieties. Since this time I have visited on a regular basis and have always found mum's room clean and tidy and mum well dressed and cared for. Mum is still settling in but I'm sure
everyone will continue to support her. Food choices are good and there are daily activities which she joins in with.

I am very happy to be a resident here. Without exceptions all the staff are kind and friendly which I think is most important, and they are also efficient. Activities are varied and there is always something to do. Food is very good - I have never gone hungry at mealtimes for there is plenty of choice.
Wherever I go in the building there is always a friendly person to talk to. I have experienced life in one other home - only briefly - and I know how lucky we are here!
