My father has recently spent about 13 days in hospital, quite seriously ill, and the care home staff have kept in contact to find out how he's doing. They have been extremely supportive and all staff have been genuinely concerned. The manager said that they would pick my dad up as soon as he was pronounced fit to go, to save him waiting around for an ambulance to take him home. Today the home have been true to their word and sent staff to pick him up as soon as I phoned to tell them he could go, and he has been promised any meal that he fancied. I have confidence that my dad is in the best place to be looked after as though he were family.
Thank you to the three staff members who collected him from the hospital, and all the other fantastic staff members at Portsdown View.
Thank you for your kind message. We're so pleased to hear that your father has received the care and support he needs, and we're grateful for your trust in our team. Your feedback means a lot to us, we will pass along your thanks to the team.
Since my husband became a resident earlier this year I have been most impressed with the care, respect and ongoing understanding of his health issues the staff have for him. I always feel made most welcome when I visit, with a warm happy atmosphere on entering the building.

All staff seemed happy in their work and were very helpful. We were given a guided tour of the home and found it very interesting and informative. Will be visiting our friend as often as possible.

My parents have recently moved into the care home. We were all made welcome when we visited. The staff go over and above with what they do with the care. Everyone is so kind and friendly. They offer an amazing choice of activities and the food is superb. I would like to thank everyone for their amazing support and kindness.

My mother thoroughly enjoyed her two weeks of convalescence at Portsdown View. The accommodation, food and beverages were first class. The care she received from the absolutely caring and friendly staff throughout the organisation was excellent. Organised trips, hair appointments, manicures and the daily activities that she participated in also made this a memorable stay. Visitors were also very welcome at all times it was a safe environment. Would highly recommend Portsdown View. Thank you for taking such good care of my Mum.

I can only praise the staff for the way they cared for my wife during her respite stay. I was kept informed if there were any issues, mainly medical that needed to be addressed. During my visits to the care home, the staff were very helpful to me, especially to my welfare. Thank you.

I have been as a visitor in other care homes but this surpasses all others. The staff were all very attentive and kind. The facilities were excellent and the many flexible activities were great fun. This would be my first choice should I need to go into a care home permanently. My stay here was for respite care following the death of my husband.

I was happy to leave mum in the care of the Portsdown View care home. I knew she would once again be well looked after. Lovely welcome at reception. All the staff were kind friendly, and ready to stop and chat as they were passing by, making sure if anything was needed. Games and chatting going on in the bistro, and beverages cakes biscuits whenever you wanted. Home from home comforts, in a delightful bright and beautiful setting. This was Mum's 3rd respite stay here, she saw friends she made on her first stay and has made more, and looks forward to her next stay (when we take a holiday) Mum said the food is very good, tasty, and varied. Lovely garden area to have a wonder around. Trips out if you desire to go. Thank you to all the staff at Portsdown View

I love the wide corridors, beautiful rooms and friendly atmosphere. The care my parents get is respectful and friendly. The whole building is clean and well-managed by lovely staff. I feel confident about my parent's care and well-being. I like that hair and nails are provided within the price. The resident and family events are wonderful and a great addition.

All staff have been excellent and their care is really genuine. The whole place is so open and nothing is hidden. The workings of the care home are excellent. Such a warm and friendly place the minute you step inside. The residents are well cared for. As we have spent a lot of time chilling and chatting you can watch the other residents engaging in activities or just be entertained and cared for by the staff. Laughter is plenty in the environment which makes for a pleasant experience for all concerned. We have eaten both in the fine dining and bistro and the food and service is fantastic. Well done to all staff on every level. This new concept in caring is definitely working in this home.

Congratulations on your Casino event raising funds for Dementia Support, all the staff worked incredibly hard and the quality of the food, service, and entertainment was exceptional as always. My mother has now been at the home for seven months and continues to benefit from the fantastic care provided. Despite a few staff changes, the new team members show the same level of care and are clearly passionate about the residents. Mum continues to be stimulated and enjoys the activities, entertainment, and various trips that are regularly arranged. All the staff, including catering, activities, bistro, beauty salon, housekeeping, reception, and the whole care team deliver a great level of care, compassion and understanding. The home is always welcoming to all family members and is a happy vibrant place to visit. Well done and thank you.
All our wonderful team at Portsdown View can not thank you enough for your kind review, we strive to deliver extraordinary care and service every day to all. We truly appreciate your kind words, thank you from us all.
My brother was happy with his time at Portsdown View, or as happy as he ever is away from his own home which is the only place which he found comfortable and reassuring. His level of dementia is mild, but he is also quite deaf which makes his condition appear worse. The staff were very helpful, and quickly learned how he likes to be treated and helped, and when he does not! He has always been a private person, so institutional life does not come easy, but despite that, he did find the home comfortable, and he was particularly comfortable with the staff who were - he felt - very kind and understanding of his problems and how best to manage them. Personal problems were well coped with, and they were not treated as trivial as he has experienced in other care homes. He would have been happy to return.
The staff have all been very friendly, helpful and caring.
Many thanks for your review. It is much appreciated.
The experience was very good, the staff, the facilities and the building were all fantastic.
Our family visited on many occasions and the hospitality offered to them all was second to none.
My husband was looked after extremely well and had a great time!
I can’t thank them enough for all they did.
Next time I need a break Portsdown View will be my first choice for my husband.
Thank you for the lovely feedback, I will pass this onto the team. I am so pleased that your husband enjoyed his stay with us and look forward to him coming back in the future.
This is a really amazing place, everyone is so friendly and caring. The care team go above and beyond for all the residents. When I visit it feels like I am coming home.

Thank you.
We loved having you stay with us, we cannot wait to have you back again... take care and hope to see you soon.
I needed a comfortable, caring environment to recover from ankle surgery, which left me unable to weight bear for some weeks. Fortunately for me, this home was local and brand new and I could not have wished for better care in such lovely surroundings.
Every member of staff was compassionate and the care I received was just what I needed at what was a difficult time for me.
I had lots of visitors (lucky me) and all of them were made to feel welcome too. They were all very impressed with Portsdown View and my family especially were really pleased that I was being so well looked after.

Pippa's journey in the health and social care sector began at the age of 18 when she commenced her Registered Nurse training at United Bulawayo Hospitals in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. In 2002, she transitioned to the UK, where she furthered her career in Leadership and Management, bringing with her a wealth of experience and unwavering dedication. Pippa’s skill set as a Registered Nurse will undoubtedly help to further support some of our residents.
Pippa is deeply committed to ensuring the highest quality of life for each resident she cares for. She aims to create an environment that genuinely feels like home, extending her passion for person-centred care not only to the residents but also to their families.

I have developed extensive experience in my role as a Deputy Manager, where I have been responsible for supporting the overall day-to-day running of the service while ensuring the highest standards of care are consistently delivered.

My responsibilities have included handling inbound and outbound calls, coordinating assessments, managing follow-ups, as I take pride in building trust, actively listening to individual circumstances, and providing clear, supportive guidance on care options

I have worked in the care sector for the past ten years, having previously worked in or been involved in the construction industry. I have been working for Connaught Care since May 2023 and I am enjoying the challenges and comradery that working with a new highly motivated & dedicated team brings.

I have had over 2 years of experience in the hospitality industry. From working in Hotel Hospitality to the care sector.

I love making residents look good, also making them feel totally relaxed and pampered at all times.
