Mum had to move care homes in Grantham unexpectedly at short notice.
Myself and my husband were under pressure to find somewhere for Mum and looked at several care homes in Grantham.
We called without appointment at Richard House and were met with care and compassion by the manager introducing us to staff including the activities co-ordinator who showed us around the lovely facilities, for example the in-house cinema, bedrooms, dining rooms and activity rooms.
The manager took a thorough assessment of Mum's needs offering to deal with the financial matters, liaising with her CEO and Adult Social Care insisting that we relax whilst she established a placement for Mum.
Mum was invited to look round selecting one of two lovely rooms complete with en-suite and facilities to help with her mobility needs.

Absolutely nothing has been too much trouble for the manager at Richard House, we simply cannot thank her enough for her first class service, we are sure Mum will be very happy.

The care home that Mum was staying in closed at very short notice.
Myself and my wife looked at several care homes in Grantham, then called unannounced at Richard House.
The manager there took time and trouble to ensure that we were thoroughly shown around the home which is warm and welcoming. The manager recognised we were distressed about having to move Mum insisting we relax whilst she attended to the financial matters speaking to her CEO, Adult Social Care and the County Council's contracts manager.
Mum was given a choice of two lovely rooms, both en-suite with lovely decoration and furnishings complete with necessary aids to living to help Mum with her mobility needs.
Absolutely nothing has been too much trouble for the manager and the staff at Richard House, this has made a difficult time much easier for us and most importantly Mum who has settled immediately into her new home.

We simply cannot thank the manager and staff enough for what they have done for Mum.

I have found since the new manager has taken over at Richard House it is going downhill. The staff no longer seem happy in their work, they still take good care of the residents. My mum is on the 2nd floor and I find her bored all the time. The first floor is always doing things. Just because mum has dementia she still has a brain that needs to keep working, she used to do magic painting and colour books but now nothing for any of them.

When I was struggling with caring for Dad at home, Richard House wrapped us in a big hug and helped everything be ok. Nothing was too much trouble and after attending for some day sessions to give me a break, the staff gently talked me through their thoughts on him and managed his transition to a full-time resident with compassion. Dad has now been a resident for over a year and whilst his condition means that he is unsettled and confused, the staff (including maintenance, housekeeping and catering - not just the care staff) take the time to interact with him and keep him safe. Any concerns I have had have proven unfounded - there's so much goes on behind the scenes to keep residents healthy, well fed and entertained. I have recommended the service to others and those who have used it have also been very impressed with the staff, surroundings and care. Well done team - you gave me my life back and helped Dad make the most of his too!

If I could have given this place 0 stars I would. My mum stayed here for 6 days, very poor care. Care record given to another resident was put against my mum, none given to my mum. Staff apologised for this mistake and said it would not happen again but the next day exactly the same. They say the right things but don't deliver. Had to get the CEO involved and tried to ring the home 5 times but no one answered. Don't use this place if you want your relatives to be looked after.

My Father arrived at this care home just over a week ago, after a negative experience with his previous home. From the moment he entered the building, he was enveloped in care and friendship and it was like a light being turned back on in his life. The amount of time taken to find out the little things about my Dad before his arrival was amazing. He loves the staff - they are friendly and caring, and the level of care and attention he is now getting is so much more comprehensive than where was before. Anita who coordinates the activities deserves a special shout-out! As a relative, I also find the staff very friendly and approachable. I feel confident that my Dad is safe with them. I can also recommend the cakes that they leave at reception!

Our mum was at Richard House Care Home for respite for one week. The home is well presented and Mum had an excellent experience with the hairdressers. She has seemed happy and content at Richard House. The staff have informed us about Mum's care. The manager is always available to answer questions and plays an active roll in delivering care. She is very attentive on the night shift towards my mum which is appreciated.

Thank you to all for looking after Mum during her stay.

All staff are so friendly and welcoming. I visit a friend, I have had some dinners with her. Staff go above and beyond to help us. Must say, Richard House is a lovely place. The overall decor is lovely. I have been on a few visits and the bins in the bedroom and bathroom have been full to the brim and little untidy, but then on other times very clean and tidy. That's the only negative thing I can say. Well done and keep up with the good work. And must say, the activities lady is so nice and very knowledgeable.

Aunty had an issue with not having a shower for a week's stay, she did ask maybe not at the correct time but no system to pick this up. I have been told that this has been addressed and is on the system for future residents on respite. I have said 'respite' is different and needs different methods to see people getting basic needs. Fundamental hygiene issue.
The staff were extremely diligent with Aunty from a food issue. Twice picking up she can't eat. They were very good at following these through on both occasions.

She returned for a pamper day hosted by a particular member of staff and was made to feel most welcome.

Richard House Care Home is a beautifully decorated and modern care home. The rooms are tastefully decorated with lovely furnishings. The staff are very welcoming and you are made to feel welcome whatever time you visit. It's like being part of a big family.
The kettle is always on and you are free to help yourself to a drink and and a biscuit.
The Activities co-ordinator is just fabulous along with her wonderful volunteer. They are amazing at keeping the residents entertained and involving them in many activities.
The hair salon is gorgeous along with the nail bar.
All rooms are ensuite with a spacious wet room.
The staff are so helpful and obliging. Nothing is too much trouble.
Food is all prepared and cooked on-site and is very well presented. There are many options to choose from and all diets are catered for.

I moved my Mum from a care home in Lincoln to relocate her to Grantham, and there is no comparison. Richard House is 5 star! Well done to all of the team.
