I find the staff attentive to my dads needs. They are wonderful staff. They put entertainment on for the residents. The food is of acceptable standard. They get my dad out most days to be in the common area.

My dad has been in Rose Villa since 2021. All the carers and nurses are really lovely with him. They look after Dad very well with lots of genuine affection. All his needs are met and as a family we feel blessed we chose Grosvenor Villas to be his home. The staff also look after us as it can be a really
difficult time when your parent has to go into care permanently. They are always there with a listening and comforting ear when we need it. xxx

When my Grandad first moved into the villas two years ago, he always seemed happy and well looked after. His hair was always brushed and he was dressed in clean clothes. This is very important to me because my Grandad was always a proud and well groomed man.

The staff were (and are still!) friendly

and his meals always looked appetising. There is a great selection of entertainment available for residents. As his condition has deteriorated, they have adapted to meet his needs, for example by providing a soft diet.

On two occasions when Grandad was very unwell, staff were attentive and ensured that further medical help was sought in a timely manner.

One area for improvement would be the smell in my Grandad's room. I find the smell of urine a sensitive and emotional subject, as it can be difficult for me to see him in such a vulnerable stage of life.

My Dad is looked after well. He has an appropriate diet for his ability to swallow, he's dressed, washed and given his medication in a friendly manner. Entry into the building could be easier for visitors, while still maintaining a high level of security.

I cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional care that Rose Villa has provided to my parents. The compassion, dignity, and kindness shown to my mother during her battle with dementia were truly remarkable. In her final days, the team went above and beyond to ensure she was comfortable, peaceful,
nd surrounded by warmth-something we will always be deeply grateful for.
Following her passing, the continued support for our family has meant so much, and knowing that my father is now in their care brings us real comfort. After his stroke, he became bed-bound, and the staff have shown unwavering patience, respect, and attentiveness to his needs. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and they treat him with genuine care and humanity.
The entire team creates a safe, supportive, and loving environment-not just for residents, but for their families too. I would wholeheartedly recommend this care home to anyone looking for truly outstanding care.

Beware serious neglect!!!
My father developed a urine infection while in this nursing home that was not picked up or treated, allowing it to progress into sepsis.
My dad relied heavily on nurses and carers to meet his basic needs as he couldn't speak, walk and to had to be fed as he couldn't do anything
for himself.
We were called and told dad had a temperature of 39.7 and an ambulance had been called.
When we arrived 30 mins later, staff hadn't even given my dad a paracetamol to bring his temperature down.
We were handed the paracetamol to give to dad 5 minutes after we arrived.
There wasn't a nurse in the building with him either despite calling it a nursing home!!
Carers emptying his urine bag wasn't trained to spot cloudy or foul smelling urine and there was a clear language barrier with carers too.
A complete failure in basic nursing care.
I WOULD NEVER PLACE A LOVED ONE IN THIS NURSING HOME EVER AGAIN!!
Daughter of Richard.

I would like to echo everything in my brother's review. Our mum was in Rose Villa for nine months and we had full confidence in how she was being looked after from the very start. We thought the level of care couldn't be improved, and yet somehow, in mum's final days, it seemed to go up a gear. The
staff went out of their way to ensure not only mum's comfort but ours too. We spent many hours at Rose Villa during mum's last few days and the staff were always there, keeping a discreet but watchful eye on mum and us, and they were there to support in any way we needed. We also met the night staff for the first time and were greeted with exactly the same friendliness and empathy that we were accustomed to.
The staff at Rose Villa do not just care, they love, and this shines through. We have been back a couple of times since mum passed away and it genuinely felt like visiting family; and that just sums up Rose Villa.

A preliminary visit to Rose Villa (after visiting other homes), left us with a very good feeling, after which, we decided that our mum would be well cared for there, following her discharge from hospital at the beginning of this year. With each visit, this feeling was confirmed; every member of staff
who we encountered, was pleasant and welcoming, and it soon became clear that the work they do there is so much more than just a "job", and with courtesy, respect, love and affection shining through in everything they did, mum's dignity was always assured. Staff who had been most regularly involved in mum's care, came to say their goodbyes to her, at the end of their shift, when, very recently, the end was so near, and that meant so very much to us. They are diamonds, each and every one of them. Treasure them and look after them. We would not hesitate, for a second, to recommend Rose Villa to anyone.

My mum was a resident in Rose Villa from Sept 2023 until she sadly passed away in July this year. The care my mum received in this time was exceptional, mum was always clean and well cared for, and the staff all took time to get to know Mum and understand her needs. There was always a lot of organised
entertainment which everyone enjoyed. I would not hesitate in recommending Rose Villa they truly are a hardworking, caring team, well led by the manager.

My mother has just celebrated her 105th birthday and has been a resident since July 2023. She is very happy and the family are all pleased with the care and attention she receives. She is always telling us how lovely all the staff are and how she enjoys her meals. I do not think the care and attention
can be faulted in any way. This means that the family have peace of mind knowing that she is so well looked after.

We chose this home for convenience for my mum to visit my dad, as he was admitted in August. He was in Rose Villa. He had a lovely room overlooking the car park, so he could check on people coming in etc.
The care from everyone in this villa is second to none. We as a family spent many hours with Dad
and were never made to feel as if we were in the way ever. The villa is constantly being kept clean, Dad was never left dirty or messy. Lovely lounge, unfortunately Dad wasn't well enough to use it, except once when they laid out a table for my mum and dad to celebrate their 61st wedding anniversary together.
The staff are so caring and went above and beyond in Dad's final days. So glad we found this place. If you want a caring home for your loved one, then look no further.

My mum moved to Rose Villa in early January 2022 from the hospital. The staff had put all her pictures up in her room and made it lovely for her. All the staff are absolutely amazing with Mum and all the family. Mum is so happy and loves the staff. Nothing is any trouble to them, her every need is taken
care of. The whole family are happy with the home and the care Mum receives.

My mum was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimers and had been at Grosvenor Villas for over 10 years. Her care was exemplary, the staff were loving and caring. Until Covid, my dad visited Mum every day and they treated him like family. My mum died a week ago and the staff were incredibly supportive and
sensitive throughout the last couple of weeks of life. They left us to look after her and sit with her but were always on hand to help if we needed it. Although all of the staff were excellent, I would like to mention two staff members in particular. They really knew Mum and were clearly very fond of her. I cannot put into words how grateful I am to the staff at Rose Villa for enabling Mum to live her last years in comfort and dignity.

My mum recently passed away in Rose Villa having been a resident for over 11 years. Many of the same staff were with her throughout this time and they have become like family. They provided such tender, loving care, not only for Mum but also for Dad and the rest of the family. Mum's welfare and comfort
were always their priority. The standard of care was excellent but importantly, it was the manner in which the care was provided that has marked the team out as exceptional. Words just don't seem enough to express our sincere gratitude for all they have done.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.307)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.307) out of 10 for Rose Villa (Grosvenor Villas) is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.482 for Rose Villa (Grosvenor Villas) is calculated as follows: ( (119 Excellents x 5) + (32 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (12 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 166 Ratings = 4.482
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rose Villa (Grosvenor Villas) is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
