I would like to thank everyone for looking after my mother so beautifully. Through your wonderful care and kindness, I feel totally reassured my mother is loved and supported on many levels. It is so comforting to see her happy and relaxed. The staff are all amazing and they provide a safe, trusting
and respectful environment, which has allowed my mother to thrive in their very capable hands.
This is our first encounter with a care home and we are so very happy with the fabulous care and the attention to detail that gives my mother a wonderful home from home experience. Thank you.

Our mother with dementia has been at Tallington Lodge Care Home since 8th August 2022. She receives excellent care and kindness from all the staff, and understanding and patience when the disease brings on a difficult day.
The atmosphere is warm, friendly and inviting and everyone is dedicated to
creating an environment that is as close to "home" as possible when also coping with some very difficult circumstances when dealing with dementia.
We recommend Tallington and all the staff very highly and are so thankful that our mother is getting the best care that we are no longer able to provide for her at home due to her worsening condition.

My relative (high dependency dementia) was in Tallington for respite care for one week - an excellent experience from start to finish. Easy to organise with a very helpful manager reassuming me that my relative would be well looked after and actually took an interest in my relative and what she liked.
Easy drop off and handover, able to see the room and care home. The manager offered us lunch with my relative if we so wished. No issues during her stay, she said she had a lovely time, everyone was friendly and the food was good. All her belongings were returned in a freshly laundered and neatly packed manner. Excellent handover back to us. Followed up by a courtesy call the following day to see if my relative had settled back home and anything else they could assist with. Overall, the best respite experience we’ve had. We would definitely use this home again. Thank you.

This is an exceptional home for your loved ones. The staff are wonderful, so caring and kind -it’s as if they are looking after their own family. The food is so very good. It is presented as if you were in a restaurant and is delicious. The hair salon is glamorous and such a lovely place to go for a
pamper. Since my Mother moved here from another home, her health and well-being has improved in leaps and bounds. She is a different person from the one she was 8 months ago. The management is excellent and nothing is too much trouble. I can’t thank the staff enough for the care they have given my Mum.

I cannot praise all the staff enough for what they are doing and have done for both of my parents. My mother is on End of Life care. The attention she gets is second to none and I know that without all the help from the staff, Mum would be suffering. It is a tough time for our family but Tallington
Lodge staff make it just a little easier for us, especially as they have had it really tough themselves during this pandemic. The biggest thank you isn't enough.

My review refers to the whole period of my mother's residence, almost 18-months, and continuing.

Our mother has been most happy from the outset and continues to enjoy living at this attractive and well-designed home, providing a stimulating and cheerful atmosphere to all and a broad range of important

facilities and amenities for living in later life.

It truly benefits from a most dedicated team of staff who each day demonstrate their commitment to the varying personal requirements and individual wishes of residents, and who also work together to provide a complete and restful 'home-life to all living there. Some qualified medical staff are on hand too as an important part of the care and medical regime. This all gives confidence to our mother and our family, who know she is well looked after.

The home is to be congratulated for its robust and successful efforts in managing the well being of residents during the ongoing pandemic.

Beautiful home with a very caring staff. My mum has been very happy here over the last 6-years. Lots of activities for the resident's, something new every week. It is a very friendly but very professional home and always greeted by the staff with a smile. As my mum is now 94, she has become a little
unwell recently, but the care she has received is second to none, and if I need an update on my mum's wellbeing, a senior carer is always available. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home, if my mum is happy, then her family are.

General care, cleanliness, food and support is excellent with very caring staff. It's the little things. For example, servicing of wheeled walker found to be in an unsafe condition, lack of checking that Mum has her hearing aids and glasses (she has dementia and cannot remember that she needs to wear
them).

Mum was concerned and worried when told she was to be transferred to Tallington Lodge. She had images of sad old people, bad food and impatient carers in her head - her preconception of a 'care home'. Those images were dispelled immediately on arrival. The building is modern with a cared-for exterior
- a good first impression - but ultimately it's what's on the inside that counts. She was welcomed upon arrival by staff, then shown to the room that would be her temporary home for the next few weeks. A beautiful room, tastefully decorated and homely. She settled in to begin her convalescence. The most important element in a care home is the staff - definitely the jewel in Tallington's crown; so caring and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Managers, daily care staff, kitchen and laundry staff, they were all lovely, even when Mum got a bit snappy due to pain, side effects of strong medication or not quite getting to the toilet in time, she was always made to feel it was okay - the staff were always kind and caring. I'm pleased to say Mum is well on the way to getting back to full functional capacity but we will always be grateful for the wonderful care she received at Tallington Lodge. Thank you.

The staff at Tallington Care Home are second to none. They really did support and care for my dad during his respite. Dad was very scared about going into respite but after a few hours there he was really enjoying himself and was really enjoying his staff. Whenever I rang Tallington Care Home they were
very familiar with dad's needs and gave me a full update. Staff provide brilliant activities which they shared on Facebook which gave me a lot of reassurance as we were not allowed to visit due to coronavirus.
I cannot praise all the staff enough. Big thank you.

Tallington Lodge is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I really don’t know what I would have done without them. A big thank you to all carers and staff who are taking great care of my mother who has been a resident since March 2019. They have all been outstanding, especially throughout this

My mum went to Tallington Lodge for respite care whilst we were away. I was nervous as it was the first time we had left her but, all the staff made it such an easy process.
She got involved with all the baking, knitting and the craft club. It was lovely seeing her so content. We would definitely take

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.769)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.769) out of 10 for Tallington Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 38 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 37 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.769 for Tallington Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (359 Excellents x 5) + (74 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 446 Ratings = 4.769
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Tallington Lodge Care Home is based on 37 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 61 registered maximum number of service users is 12.2, which has been reached with 37 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
