Mum moved in end of December and after a bit of confusion regarding room allocation was finally moved to the correct room but still had to pay price for dearer room that she was put in to begin with that we did not agree with, this has still not been resolved. Name badges on staff members would help
residents/families.

I would like to express a massive thanks for the support from the manager and her team at Tantallon House in getting my brother-in-law a place he could call home. It was a big ask, as he had requested if he could stay at the same home his mother was in. I felt that this was really important to him.
They were outstanding in the manner it was done. His wishes and care have been person-centred around him. He has settled in well, he tells me that he has breakfast every morning with his mum and daily games of dominoes. These things are massive to him. The staff on Tantallon Ward are polite and caring. We would like to say thank you.

My grandmother has been a resident at Tantallon House, Morar for 6 months. I am extremely happy with the level of care she receives and how outstanding the staff are. The home is very clean and the facilities are great. My grandmother loves living here, a new lease of life for her.

I was in this home for a week's respite after 2 weeks in hospital. I strongly objected to paying for 2 weeks when I only wanted one but the management were insistent on this.
In general, I was happy with my stay. The staff were pleasant and caring and the facilities were good. Some of the staff couldn't
speak very good English but got there in the end!
The food was very basic and rather disappointing. There was little variety (too much broccoli) and no finesse (no sauces etc), and the evening meals were served far too early (5 pm).

My dad has been in Tantallon House for over a year now and I'd just like to say how wonderful the carers are. They are kind, attentive, caring and as much as they can with the shortage of staff at times, make sure my dad is looked after very well, is comfortable and his needs are met.
In particular,
a staff member has been a constant in his life since his time at Tantallon Hall. She is an absolutely brilliant carer and takes her job to another level of commitment. She has great rapport with my dad and he really enjoys their chats. I have seen her with many residents and she knows each individual so well and takes time with them all, knowing exactly how to speak to each one and how to care for their individual needs.
I would also like to mention the other staff who care for dad and another staff member who is doing a special project with him about his life, to give him some 1 on 1 time as he is rarely out of bed these days.
The home is a lovely place though more staff are needed to meet the needs of the residents.

I have just spent two weeks of respite care at Tantallon House following an operation and found their care to be excellent. The building itself is pleasant, spacious and relaxing and the staff are very helpful and caring. Meals are good, all diets being catered for. There was a very good range of activities
and outings to cater for all types of illness. Visitors are welcome and small parties of relations can be arranged on request. Overall, my experience of the home was very good, although jolly good, staffing is a problem.

My mother-in-law spent her final nine months at Tantallon Morar Home in North Berwick. Throughout, we visited her twice if not more frequently and saw staff doing their best to attend to her high level of nursing care. The level of staffing meant all those working there were very busy. Having been previously
a care assistant and now a senior social worker, I was aware of several staff members showing high levels of compassion and commitment, despite the demands on them to assist my mother-in-law. The layout of Morar resembles a five-star hotel and it is very well presented throughout. The management, accounting and billing were a little inconsistent.

I was very touched and impressed by the care provided by the home. I also appreciated the courtesy towards and care of family members. Staff were always helpful and kind, no matter the situation, and very supportive at the end of my father's life. The facilities of the home are of an exceptional standard,
very varied, and there is plenty to do. I would highly recommend this home.

My wife has been a resident at Tantallon House since the end of November 2023. This was initially for respite care and to their credit Tantallon House accepted her at very short notice. Since January 2024 my wife has become a permanent resident. The care home is well equipped and the staff are doing
a great job. My wife's dementia is well understood and some related behavioural issues have been well dealt with as have her dietary requirements (vegan).

I have only to say that our experience of Tantallon House is positive. My mum has settled in well and all her care needs are being met and more! She enjoys all the social activities and always gets involved. Our family as well as mum are so pleased to see her well cared for. The staff are always very
friendly and approachable, food is delicious. Her room is always clean and tidy. Most importantly mum is safe and happy!

The home is very safe, provides great care and provides stunning views! My grandmother enjoys this very much.
The home provides my grandmother with great quality of life as we can easily visit and take her out for great walks that are almost on the doorstep of the home.

Overall, excellent in every way. Only seems staff shortage to answer the buzzer when called for help. At times it can be over one hour. I have great muscle spasms and am unable to change my position due to a stroke. I get anxious and stressed when needing help and no response to my calling. I also suffer
low sugar spells and even this is not recognised when I need sugar and soya milk to bring up low sugar levels. Recently took 40 minutes to bring the required sugars to aid my relief. It seems staff don't realise the urgency.

Tantallon House is the cleanest home I have ever seen and has very, very friendly staff. The bedrooms are like bedrooms in top hotels, also the food is first class - very good! Cannot fault anything about Tantallon House (keep up the good work) and thank you for everything you are doing to make my partner
feel safe and treat her with respect!

My grandfather of 96 spent his final month at Tantallon House. The family were blown away by the care and compassion he received.
The facilities were first class and the staff were of the highest quality.
My grandad was initially reluctant to go into a care home but later said to us that we couldn’t
have picked a better place for him. He was happy and safe in his final chapter of life.

The atmosphere at Tantallon House is unfailingly warm and welcoming for both residents and visitors, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff, who are always caring and considerate and seem to have an excellent rapport with the residents. I am most impressed.

I and my family had to make the decision to move my elderly mother from a care home near London, all the way to Tantallon House North Berwick, Scotland. This seemingly overwhelming, daunting task was made so relaxed and simple by the staff and management of Tantallon House. Once our final decision was
made, my mother was assessed and brought up within one week, just before Christmas. So for the first time in many years, she was able to see all of our very big family. This alone was so special.
The staff are so kind and caring, the whole home is like a home from home. It is so warm, so clean and so comfortable. The food is really good, as well as the wonderful tea and cake.
The communication with staff is really good, and we all feel much more connected in my mother's life. There is a very useful app we can use, that is very useful in part of the general communication about my mother's daily well-being and care.

This care home is excellent in care and facilities. The staff are so attentive and our dear Uncle more or less got one-to-one care while in as an interim patient. All the team are very attentive and friendly, this care home was lovely and for us as a family to know our uncle was getting the best of
care and attention he needed. All staff go above and beyond. We were kept informed of any decisions or further care that was necessary. The food was an added bonus as they have a top-notch chef! Everything is freshly cooked on the premises and homebaked daily. We couldn't have asked for better communication and cannot praise this lovely care home and the lovely staff enough.
