I visited three care home for my friend; with a view to respite care; this was number three and I immediately knew this was the one. The rooms are bright and airy and well furnished, en-suites and decorated to a high standard and residents can add their personal touch. The home is well thought out,
with everything a resident would need.
The welcome was so warm and friendly and it has continued to be, as my friend liked it so much she decided to stay permanently.
Staff are amazing they have a good relationship with all the residents and are so welcoming to visitors.
The food is also amazing, with a good choice of menus throughout the day and if there is nothing they like, it's never too much trouble to supply what a resident may like.
They have truly become part of the community and it's really a home from home for the residents.
Reply from Jacqueline Brown, Customer Relations Manager at The ChaseThank you for taking the time to write us such a wonderful review, I will share your lovely comments with the staff. I am so glad to hear that you always feel welcome as we love seeing you around the home!

Mum came to The Chase for 2 weeks of respite in August. The overall experience was excellent, the facilities are fabulous and the cleanliness is second to none. The care and attention Mum received were given with compassion and empathy and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and the
activities varied and thoroughly enjoyed by Mum. She loved the social aspect of her stay. I can thoroughly recommend The Chase to anyone who is looking for respite care for a loved one.

My experience of The Chase and the staff has been only positive. The genuine care and attention towards my mother has been amazing from the day she arrived to the day she left. The environment is uplifting, light, bright, and of exceptional quality. The outside space, including the roof terrace, are
easily accessible and are seamless to the inside which encourages outside living. Every detail has been thought through and every detail appreciated.
Thank you all for making my mum's stay a delight.

I recently visited The Chase care home in Huntingdon, where my 96-year-old uncle is staying. It is a beautiful newly built and furnished home. The staff are excellent: welcoming and friendly, nothing seems to be too much trouble. Their warm and close relationship with the residents is evident. The
facilities are top-notch. Residents may call for any snacks or drinks they might like,(including the odd red wine or two) and transport is on standby for those short trips or errands that residents wish to go on. My Uncle’s en-suite room opens out onto landscaped gardens where one can sit and relax. Perhaps he is out in the garden now having a drink and a chat with the other residents. We can now relax, knowing that he is in good hands, being well looked after by people in a warm, friendly and supportive environment which also provides the highest levels of comfort and service.
P.S. When I just phoned he and others had gone to the beach” with Fish n' Chips to follow!

We visited our friend and neighbour at The Chase and found him to be happy, healthy, and in good spirits. The home was beautifully furnished and fitted everywhere, the food was excellent, and the staff were friendly, competent, and professional. Nothing was too much trouble for our resident or us, so
we enjoyed seeing him and felt that he is in a very good place.

This place is quite simply amazing! I have never experienced the quality of welcome, service, interior decor, and facilities including the spa, gym, bistro, bar, and fine dining. This should be the future for all care home 5-star hotels.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.894)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.894) out of 10 for The Chase is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.894 for The Chase is calculated as follows: ( (343 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 379 Ratings = 4.894
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Chase is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 61 registered maximum number of service users is 12.2, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
