The Lodge at Burcot Grange

My wife became a resident at The Lodge in February 2021. Since then, I have visited her every day and therefore, been able to assess her care over almost a year. I find the Lodge at Burcot Grange to be of the highest possible standard, with no exceptions. All of the staff excel at caring for the residents and this is obvious on every one of my visits. I see the Lodge at Burcot Grange as a very happy and well cared for family. I could not have chosen a better care facility to entrust my wife to.

The warm and friendly welcome by staff continued throughout the two weeks stay over Christmas. All facilities and provisions were excellent at all times. Care and consideration was given, appropriate to each resident. This includes specific 'entertainment' activities. A first-class experience in every respect, giving both my wife and I an enjoyable experience in every way.

In the first instance, The Lodge at Burcot Grange is a stunning facility aesthetically, but it is the management and staff that make it a home. The brilliance of care for my mother, maintaining her dignity and always having a kind word for her, is reassuring and heartwarming. Adapting to her needs and explaining to me the whys and the wherefores in what can be very emotional decisions, has been kindly and considerately done. I feel I can trust the team, which has been vital during the pandemic. This has been managed and communicated very professionally.

My mom is very well cared for at The Lodge at Burcot Grange. As she lives with dementia, one of the biggest benefits has been the fantastic, busy and varied activities programme and the genuine kindness of the staff team. It has been a sad time during the covid pandemic, with limited visiting for the past 22 months, but I have had peace of mind that Mom is content, safe and cared about.

An excellent, first-rate service provided, at times, with a smile. Thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness at all times too.

My mum is extremely happy at Burcot Lodge, having been a resident for 2.5 years. All staff are caring and courteous and treat residents with dignity and respect. The building is lovely and kept spotless. There are plenty of activities and regular photos on their Facebook page, to allow me to see what Mum is enjoying. Any queries/requests are responded to promptly.

Fantastic care and a wonderful home. My father is so settled, happy and being extremely well looked after, with great, wholesome meals and care.

If I had a magic wand for where I would want my mother cared for in her late stage of dementia, it would be Burcot Lodge. The staff are fantastic - From the front desk, kitchen, laundry, to all the carers - all just so amazing. Mother is clean, fed, warm and happy. She joins in the activities and The Lodge has made a big difference to not just Mother's life but mine as well.

My mother has been a resident at The Lodge for a year now. During that time, we have been blown away by the care given to her and that reflects on my mum in her being so very happy and settled there. From senior management down, every single staff member deserves full credit for the part they play in the way The Lodge runs. It feels like a family when we visit - we are welcomed warmly and always with a smile. I would not hesitate to recommend.

My cousin has been at The Lodge for over six months now and has absolutely no complaints. In fact, she is so happy with everything she and we have experienced during her stay to date. She is very well looked after.

The Lodge at Burcot Grange provided my mum with the care that we were unable to provide at home. Booking Mum into Burcot was the hardest decision for our family but, at every step along the way, the staff put Mum at centre of all the decisions. I cannot speak highly enough of the genuine and compassionate care that all those, who looked after Mum, gave to her. They were absolutely the next best thing to family. We, her daughters, witnessed for ourselves that the wonderful staff at Burcot Grange really and genuinely care for their residents. They are filled with kindness, gentleness, endless patience, consideration and a great sense of humour. We were so touched to see how Mum was very much treated with dignity, respect and fondness. She was not just a resident but she was allowed to be her own person and we are so very grateful.

My mum was cared for at Burcot Lodge. She had advanced dementia with challenging needs. My sisters and I have been bowled over by the care, kindness, professionalism and dedication of every single member of the team we met. From the very first contact, the attitude is ‘whatever we can do to make the situation as good as we can’ - and then they went beyond the call of duty with personal touches, gestures and genuine compassion. And this was not just for our eyes. We stayed with our mum in her last week at Burcot and witnessed all these qualities round the clock 24/7 and 7-days a week. These people are heroic in their daily work, work which is challenging physically and psychologically but they show a true understanding of the needs of a dementia sufferer and utter commitment to making every one of their residents lead full, happy lives which are undefined by their illness. I can’t sing their praises enough. Thank you, Burcot Lodge, team!

Everyone was so lovely and helpful and thoughtful. I enjoyed meeting other residents. The meals were very enjoyable and plentiful. I enjoyed my stay at Burcot very much and am looking forward to another stay in the future.

Every single member of the staff operated as a team: efficient but all completely focused on the best for Dad and his family. Truly exceptional. My view of nursing and care homes has been completely revised, and if only I had known I'd have convinced Dad to have gone much, much earlier and it would have drastically improved the quality of life for the past 6 months of his life.

My mother-in-law was at Burcot Grange for 9 months. It was a difficult decision to move her from her long term home to Burcot. This decision was made much easier with the first visit made by a senior nurse at Burcot. He put us all at ease and showed real care and understanding. All staff from nurses to receptionist to the maintenance man treated my mother-in-law as an individual showing care compassion and treated her with dignity. Nothing was too much trouble. We feel she became part of a bigger family. The family feel her life was enriched by the time spent at Burcot. Following a short illness they kindly received her back to care for at the end of her life. As a nurse myself I can honestly say we could not have wished for better care. Every need was met and again in her last days she was treated with dignity and care which was exemplary. We know she was special but all members of the team made us feel that they also thought she was special, which obviously she was. Thank you so much

The team at Burcot are extremely caring and attentive. They are open to any suggestions ensuring that the resident's individual needs are at the forefront of any decisions. They are constantly reviewing if there is anything more that can be done. Throughout lockdown, they have all done a fantastic job in minimising the risk to residents whilst keeping the families informed and in touch with their loved ones as much as possible. Thank you.

We feel so very lucky to have found the most amazing care home in The Lodge at Burcot Grange. After 69 years of marriage, we were faced with the prospect of having to split up my in-laws, due to my father-in-law needing specialist dementia care, whilst my mother-in-law was just facing the physical challenges of being 90. Unfortunately, we lost my mother-in-law earlier this month, however, we couldn't have hoped for a more loving, caring environment for her final weeks. Despite the added challenges and pressure associated with Covid-19, all of the carers at Burcot Grange have been consistently kind and caring, going well above and beyond their duties to ensure my in-laws remained as comfortable and content as possible. Whilst Burcot Grange is immediately impressive on arrival, it is the quality of care and the kindness of the carers that far exceeded our expectations. We rest assured that my father-in-law is in the very best of hands and we can't wait to visit again once allowed.
