My mother was an elderly resident at Nowton Court during the last 5 years of her life. This provided her with the privacy she had been used to in her own home; yet always someone on hand to talk to her at anytime during night or day. She enjoyed her chauffeur-driven trips into town; overseen by a caring
Concierge. The staff were very responsive, supportive, kind and helpful.
My mother was a watercolour artist from Scotland, and she was able to continue with her enjoyment of this, using the wonderful library area. She loved the peace and quiet of a comfortable corner, all to herself, in one of the many splendid sitting rooms. The surrounding park & gardens gave her much pleasure, as did keeping the bird tables well supplied!
The home cooking was of a high standard and Chef catered for her individual needs. After her funeral, we held her celebration of life at Nowton Court, with excellent organisation from the management. It was so successful, that we hope to hold a private event there.

I have been so impressed with the care my father has received and is receiving at Nowton Court Village. He is improving daily. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff really do care and look out for their residents.
I would love to stay here myself.

I came to Nowton Court Village from hospital having had a triple by-pass. I stayed for two weeks as I needed complete rest and care. I am over 80 and live alone. The care here is excellent and I cannot fault anything. They even called the paramedics when my leg started bleeding and I had excellent attention.
It is an extremely good place to receive help when needed.

I was admitted following a serious fall at home.
I called the ambulance and was examined by two excellent paramedics.
My rib cage was damaged which caused a great deal of pain and difficulty breathing.
My daughter insisted that I come here for a complete rest as I am 87 years old tomorrow. I have
been caring for my husband for the last three years before he was admitted to the care home in September.
The staff at Nowton Court have all been excellent, showing sympathy and understanding. All the meals have been well presented and the food is excellent.
I am returning home today, feeling better, refreshed and with increased movement and far less pain.

I only stayed a week, it was excellent.
All the staff looked after me all the time and I had excellent meals all week.
When I'm next in the hospital I would love to come to you again. I will let you know when I will be available to come back, possibly for a longer time.

I booked in a visitor in order to visit my wife in a nearby nursing home. The building was magnificent, the staff friendly and helpful and the room excellent and the food fine.
I was called away prematurely, but would certainly visit again.
More residents would have made the experience more socially
stimulating.

Nowton Court Village is a fabulous care home where the surroundings are beautiful the facilities are appropriate and accessible without being clinical.
The staff are amazing. They have shown nothing but care, dignity and respect for my mother, helping us to access medical professionals when required.
Nothing seemed to much trouble. I cannot recommend Nowton Court Village Highly enough.

This is my second stay at Nowton. The first, 2 years ago, was when I needed care with a broken ankle. More recently, for respite after a hospital stay following a chemotherapy reaction. The surroundings here are beautiful and they get all the basics right (food, comfort, cleanliness and safety).
What
sets them apart is the staff. Teamwork is of the highest order. Everyone is well briefed and also takes a personal interest. The manager liaises with other professionals such as GP and healthcare professionals etc. The staff are all friendly, caring and diligent. I would definitely recommend it.

My husband came to Nowton Court Village after spending 5 weeks in a hospital. I did not feel he was moving forward so I booked him into Nowton Court Village. I also stayed and because I had no worries about shopping, cooking etc; I could help him improve. This is an ideal place to recuperate and have
extra service i.e. washing done, rooms cleaned and choice of food. The views are beautiful as the building stands within Nowton Park and there is wildlife to watch from every window. I would recommend Nowton Court Village for anyone requiring a peaceful place to recover and regain strength.

I stayed for a period of 5 weeks for convalescence following a major operation. The room I had was a very good size with an adjustable bed, reclining chair, T.V, tea making facilities, and a modern en-suite with a wet room all of which was extremely comfortable. The staff were very attentive, courteous
and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately, the food was not 5* standard due to the fact that they were between chefs and there was no choice of main courses at lunchtime. However, the staff who had to cover served up tasty meals, and if you couldn't eat what was on the menu they would make you an alternative. Meals could be taken in your room if preferred.
I had a very pleasant stay in wonderful, peaceful surroundings which certainly made me have a speedy recovery. I also availed myself of the facilities of the Heritage Well Being Centre, manned by very friendly girls.
Regular activities were provided but I only went to one session of Chair Tai Chi. I wished I had gone to more.

A warm welcome. Very friendly, helpful staff. Good food and plenty of choice. Beautiful room with excellent facilities. Gorgeous grounds and relaxing setting. Took advantage of some pampering in the well-being centre. Aware of lack of chef and kitchen staff. They are having to cover, do extra shifts
and even come in from holiday, but their work was still exemplary. "No trouble at all" was the response from the concierge 24/7 no matter what they were asked to do.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.908)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.908) out of 10 for Nowton Court Village is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Extra Care Housing is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.908 for Nowton Court Village is calculated as follows: ( (108 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 119 Ratings = 4.908
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

    5 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months: 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.5 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews. (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.5, 5th = 0.5)

The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Nowton Court Village is based on 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 = 5
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Extra Care Housing does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
