My godfather moved to Bentley Lodge Nursing Home at the end of October 2025, and it was the only home that immediately felt warm and welcoming.
The manager, Julie, is knowledgeable, understanding, and always willing to discuss any concerns properly.
My godfather has dementia and a number of other
medical conditions. He can become distressed, which initially worried us, but the nursing and care staff have been consistently patient, calm, and friendly. Thanks to them, he has settled in very well. They keep his wife updated with any changes, which gives great reassurance.
She visits every afternoon and always feels welcomed and supported. There is a strong sense of community, with plenty of activities to keep residents engaged. My godfather especially enjoyed the Christmas entertainment and celebrations.
Bentley Lodge truly feels like a home-from-home, and we are very grateful for the care he receives.

I have been here for 1 year. I enjoy being here. The food is nice, and we have a good view. I have all the things I need, TV, hearing, a wardrobe, drawers and a bed, all I need. You get up when you want, and I spend a lot of time reading in my room.
I spend time downstairs where I eat and chat to
friends, and have lunch.

My very dear husband arrived in the care of Bentley Lodge at the end of October 2025. Obviously such a move was very emotional for us both and a period of adjustment was needed. Throughout this process we were both supported by everyone from Julie the manager through every member of staff always greeted
even when just passing in a corridor. There is such a homely warm feeling at The Lodge and the staff in all categories do an excellent job. At first food / activities hard going now improved.
The cleaning is being done all the time and the building smells lovely. Having nurses on hand is also a great comfort.
Christmas was sensational the organisation and hours of work it must have entailed most appreciated. The staff joined in with great gusto at the many events that took place. Special thanks also to the chef and catering staff. All in all I am so pleased to have found such a warm and caring environment for my husband and for me to visit him in each day. Thank you!

I was very sceptical about some of the stories that you see and read about care nursing homes. But after a week of my grandad being here my views were completely changed. He gets all the support that he needs. Staff are always very happy and helpful. Nothing is too much of a problem of them. Always
clean and smells nice. The choice of food is really good. Very happy that he is here being cared for.

Westlands is a great carehome. Its like one big family. All of the staff are very caring and all get involved in entertaining the residents. Excellent communication about any appointments, illness, requirements etc. My dad was in a different home for some months, it does not compare to Westlands. My
mum especially loves the music acts and activities in the cafe. I'm so grateful for the care and love she's given, its feels like family to me. Its a really happy place for long term residents and those staying for respite etc. 100% reccomend it.
Reply from Helen Brown, Home Manager at Westlands Care HomeThank you for the review Sam, simply amazing, recognising one and all. My husband has mixed dementia and he went into Westlands for respite while I was recovering from an operation. The minute you walk into the home you are made to feel welcome. The staff are so attentive, kind and caring. The home is very clean and while I was visiting my husband I witnessed that as soon
as there was a spill or wet on the floor from people coming back in with wet shoes it was promptly cleared up. He is coming home tomorrow and I think I may have a problem getting him out, he so enjoyed his time there and I have no hesitation in rebooking him for more respite if and when I need it. Caroline the activity lady is a star, involving the residents with activities and also putting on entertainment with other members of staff. Which the residents really enjoyed. I would definitely recommend this care home.
Reply from Helen Brown, Home Manager at Westlands Care HomeIt was a real pleasure to support your husband and we are so very pleased that the operation was a success, you are both stars and we would welcome you both at any time. This is a wonderful review and we cannot thank you enough, we look forward to seeing you in the near future. In the meantime, don't be strangers, pop in for a coffee anytime. Helen

I would like to thank Bentley Lodge for their care and dedication to my dad Alan. My father arrived at Bentley Lodge from hospital in a frail state. We knew that dad didn't have much time and we were keen to remove him from hospital.
The amazing team at Bentley Lodge provided loving care to my dad
in his last weeks. Everyone at Bentley Lodge was so supportive to myself and my sister as we navigated dad's last weeks.
From amazing Nusing and care staff, to Julie and the office staff, we felt supported at all times.
We had a long journey to visit dad, and often arrived early or out of hours, but always felt welcomed.
Dad passed away at Bentley Lodge and he was treated with total dignity and love at
all times.
Thank you. Xx

I am a friend to a resident who moved into Cams Ridge Nursing home eight months ago. My friend has moderate dementia and limited mobility, and from the very first day we felt she was in safe and capable hands.
The staff are warm, patient and genuinely caring. They take time to talk to my friend, remember
small details about her life, and adapt to her pace. When her health worsened some months ago, the nursing team kept us closely informed-always answered my calls promptly, explained what was happening, and reassured us.
Reply from Marie Toledo, Manager at Cams RidgeThank you so much for taking time to share these kind words. We're truly touched to hear your positive experience. Our team works hard to provide not only professional nursing support but a genuine companionship and understanding- especially to resident with dementia. We'll make sure that we will share your feedback with the staffs. Thank you again for your trust and support.

i cannot speak highly enough of the service my father and i have received.
The care and kindness of the staff has overwhelmed us both after coping with long months in a hospital. and now needing palliative care, i can see that my father is being so carefully looked after both physically and emotionally.
whenever i have arrived with all the worries such a challenging situation presents , i have left feeling totally reassured... so i feel as if we are both being looked after.
every staff member i have met has been delightful.
he is totally bedridden but always he has a happy story about how the staff take their time with him.
i feel privileged to have met such an extraordinary set of people in such a difficult time.
i can only wish for all people in this situation wherever they are that this level of care is provided.

I have been visiting a friend in Bentley lodge on a regular basis for companionship to my friend and to help her family as they like her to have regular contact with family and friends.I go into other care homes also but would like to say how warm and welcoming the staff are here. On entering the home
you are greeted with very pleasant staff from the office staff to all the carers and workers helping. There is always someone to help and speak to when needed snd the patient care I would say is excellent. It is a pleasure to be part of and a welcoming place to visit.

MY mum was transferred to Cams Ridge for end of life care in July 2024. We praised the care she received from the staff at Cams Ridge but were upset with owners over fees charged after my mums death on July 7th.Since then having spoken a Director of Cams Ridge I understand more the costs involved after
her death. I was very upset at the time at losing my mum and we should have dealt with the issues differently.I do not want my original opinion to detract from the excellent care she received at Cams Ridge.Through out her care period she was treated exceptionally well and towards the end of her life the care staff could not have done more to cater for her every need.I think it is only fair to put the record straight.
Reply from Marie Toledo, Manager at Cams RidgeThank you so much for taking the time to share this update. We are truly sorry for your loss and deeply appreciate your kind words about the care your mum received at Cams Ridge. It means a great deal to our team to know that she was treated with dignity, compassion, and comfort throughout her time with us. We understand how difficult such moments can be, and we're grateful for your recognition of the dedication shown by our staff. Mum was resident at Cams Ridge for 2.5 years, during that time her care was excellent. Even when she eventually succumbed to dementia the care remained at the highest level. All the staff were excellent, the lady on reception, the nursing staff, the laundry lady, the carers, the young staff who brought
her favourite apple juice each morning, they all knew Mum and treated her with kindness & dignity. A most special mention goes to her primary carer who provided great support to both Mum and the family during the most difficult times. Thank you Cams Ridge.
Reply from Marie Toledo, Manager at Cams RidgeThat's lovely to hear. It sounds like your mum has settled in well and is being cared for with kindness and attention. My mum was discharged from hospital to the home, suffering ongoing delirium. We were very apprehensive of the move and how she would be able to cope with this change. She was welcomed by all the staff who made an exceptional effort to settle her in. This included the home and deputy manager, the nurses
and carers. They gave their time willingly, listening to our concerns as we tried to explain our mum's needs. This gave us the confidence that we could put our trust in them, putting our minds at rest. Their care has been exemplary throughout the last few months.
The chef prepares her a special soft food diet for which we are very appreciative. The cleaners are friendly and keep the home spotless. The home has a full programme of activities.
The staff are so patient and kind. This kindness has been extended to the whole family - giving us their time willingly, always happy to discuss how things are going or what systems can be put in place to try to help my mum and her ongoing needs.
