My dad is at Danecroft Care Home in Wilstead for respite, and we are so grateful for the care he receives. From the start, the staff have been welcoming, kind, and helpful. They quickly created a detailed care plan, allowing respite to be arranged promptly. The home is warm, secure, and spotlessly clean, and residents can bring personal items to make rooms feel homely. My dad had a welcome card and an aeroplane picture on his door-a thoughtful touch. The staff know him well, support his needs, and the food is nutritious with excellent choices. There is a wide range of engaging activities every day. During a visit, we saw him smiling and shaking a tambourine to music with other residents and a visiting mother and toddler group. The open-door visiting policy makes family visits easy. The staff are friendly and attentive; when I felt upset that my dad needed to be in a care home, they offered a cup of tea, comforted me, and listened. We feel my dad is safe, happy, and truly well cared for
Danecroft is an amazing place! My Dad came in in February of this year and has been made so welcome and has been treated as part of the family . The staff are friendly and helpful and the place is spotless ! I cannot recommend Danecroft highly enough !
My mum suffers from dementia and is a resident at Danecroft, she has been there for around 2 and a half months. The place is superb! It's clean, tidy and every part of the place is spotless. Mum always looks groomed and well dressed, clearly, she is being looked after. Mum's needs are catered for in every way. The staff are excellent, always looking out for the residents and friendly towards visiting families. It's a pleasure to visit.
I cannot recommend Danecroft highly enough! The staff are amazing, so kind, generous and caring, and looked after Mum as though she was a member of their own family. I was able to call or visit at any time, and was always made welcome. Moving Mum to Danecroft was the best thing I ever did for her.
The home is absolutely amazing, they employ activity staff so the residents keep their minds active, they have fitness people come in, and music which my dad absolutely loves. I wish we choose this home from the beginning as he said he absolutely loves living at Danecroft. Thank you so much for caring for Dad so far, and fingers crossed for years to come. Keep up the great work.
She is so much happier and content in herself, she is smiling and is just a happy person now, it is heartwarming to see, she has made friends which is nice, thank you.
All I wish for my mum is to be welcomed, loved and cared for in the way of a family home and this is just what my mum receives, every day and in particular, when she has been poorly, the knowledge, professionalism and dedication to her wellbeing, has been incredible. Thank you, Danecroft.
My mother in law has been at Danecroft for the past 10 years following a diagnosis of dementia. She has been cared for so well but even more importantly, she has been loved by the staff. Yesterday she left the home to move to the Isle of Wight as she has always wanted to return to living by the sea. The right decision but so sad to leave all the wonderful people at Danecroft. A huge thanks again to you all.
The staff really do go above and beyond.
Mum had been using Danecroft for respite over the past couple of years and she absolutely loved it. It gave myself and my father great comfort knowing she was really well taken care of whilst on ‘her holidays’ for a few weeks at a time. The staff were really friendly and really looked after my mum. Mum suffered from mixed dementia and had been diagnosed 6 years prior to her starting respite at Danecroft.
This letter is written with sincere thanks to all the staff and carers who made my Mum's 90th birthday so special. Entertainment was on that day a singer/pianist and the staff ensured my Mum joined in with the sing-a-long, and it really made the family part of the occasion.
My Mum came to Danecroft end of June due to sudden changes with her care at home. This was a big change not only for my Mum but the family too, but I can honestly say the care and attention she receives is comforting and reassuring. The staff are very caring and attentive. Danecroft is like "home from home". Leaving my Mum at the end of my visit is made easier knowing she is in the care of such great staff.
My Father-in-law entered the care home as a self-funding resident due to rapid deterioration of health. It became apparent that his cancer was already secondary and it spread rapidly. Effectively the care home became a hospice placement and he died about three weeks later. The level of care and support for him, his wife (who was also in the home) and family was outstanding. The compassion and support throughout this difficult period was second to none. Thankyou.
My Father was a resident at Danecroft for 18 months. All the staff were very friendly helpfull and above all extremely caring. During his last few weeks when he was unable to do anything for himself the staff were so attentive and compassionate and treated him as if he was one of their own family. I can highly recommend this care home and am so pleased this is the one we chose for my Dad.
I am always greeted and made to feel welcome, my aunt is looked after very well and she always look clean and tidy. I think the bedrooms and bathrooms need to be cleaned more often. The food is good. my aunt is very fussy and they do their best to make her what she likes to eat.
As you would expect all of the rooms in the Home are cleaned at least once every day. Where some residents choose to spend their time in their room the cleaners will of course ask whether it is OK for them to clean...
As far as I am aware my cousin is very well looked after. The food is very good and always looks lovely. We can visit any time we like and are always most welcome. Any small problems we are notified by telephone calls. The staff are great and nothing is too much bother.
