Birchwood Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Very pleased with Birchwood Care Home from the first visit of the home. The manager and front of house staff were excellent. Very welcoming and we were shown the room where my father would be, it was very clean and everywhere was spotless with the garden well kept.

My father is settling in nicely.

The staff are so friendly and loving to all residents and relatives. The food which consists of cornflakes and then cooked breakfast, mid-morning tea and biscuits, hot lunch and salad, mid afternoon tea and cakes and then tea time another hot meal which my father is enjoying it all.

Much of the care is absolutely excellent and is provided by the permanent staff. When it comes to agency workers many have a "here today, gone tomorrow" attitude. I personally find many of them arrogant and while I have been visiting the home almost daily for more than three years I sometimes get treated
to a "what are you doing in the kitchen?" attitude and a way of making me feel like an intruder. The reason I am in the kitchen is because I left to make my own tea/coffee and sometimes get a better beaker for my husband or whatever the case may be.
