All in all, a good example of people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and complex health living the most independent and rich life possible.
My son resided at Mary House for the past 5 years. Please never let your child be cared for by Martha Trust. The management is incompetent and does not listen to anyone. They have a closed-shop culture and all of their efforts are spent covering up mistakes and the fact their residents have a very poor quality of life. The management lies to professionals, parents and their staff about the care they are being funded to provide. (which they are not). They never followed my son’s care plan. The residents cannot speak, and their other communications are ignored. The care staff are wonderful. They are not valued by management and are blamed and told off like schoolchildren. Don’t be fooled by the amazing hydrotherapy pool, it is not used much. My son was suffering because of the management. The way his care was managed was making him unwell, physically and mentally. This is the same for the other residents. All of the parents I speak to, feel the same. Martha Trust claims to be a Christian Charity!
