My father was in the Longacre Nursing Home for 3 years and regrettably passed away in his 100th year on the 25th of February 2026. During my father's entire stay he was exceptionally well looked after by all of the staff! In a situation where as a visitor you can turn up at any time and never experience
anything other than gracious, generous and caring staff is extremely rare. I cannot recommend Longacre highly enough for anyone considering using their care facilities..... they are truly truly wonderful. Well done to ALL of the management and staff there for such a fantastic experience.

From the moment I walked in I could feel the care and love the staff showed all the residents. My Aunt was very reluctant to stay but was looked after so well that she relaxed and did like it there, even joining in with some of the activities which she vowed she would never do!
Managers could not be
any more helpful and supportive and there was always some nice entertainment or fun being had when we visited.

We have found all the staff wonderfully kind and thoughtful. They treat the residents with respect and definitely know them individually. At first sight Albury looks less 'smart' than some homes but the community is like a big family and I would chose it over any other I have visited.

Outstanding - 5 star review across the board. The staff were always attentive and kind. My dad was in the home for three years and the staff never changed - a really good sign. The food always looked tasty and nutritious. The home was always clean and comfortable. Entertainment and events for residents
was a high caliber. They went the extra mile in every way. I visited regularly and often, I was always made aware of any issues with dad I'd recommend this home. A few of my friends visited dad when I was out of the country and they gave the same review!

My elderly relative was looked after with great care and compassion at Longacre Nursing Home, Worthing. There were monthly reviews of her care plan, which she contributed to. She wasn't really interested in the social activities, but there was a weekly plan on her wall to let her know about any activities.
he could have her hair done, and also her feet, and the was an opportunity for her teeth to be checked by a visiting dentist and the treatment was carried out on site. She liked the food. Her room had a lovely view of the garden, which meant she could watch the birds and the squirrels but if she wanted to she could sit in the garden. She was there for eighteen months and during that time she required a high level of nursing care and Longacre could provide this. She was always treated with dignity and respect by all the staff and they were always friendly and professional.
Reply from Diane Thorp, Manager at Longacre Nursing HomeThank you so much for your detailed and kind review, it is much appreciated.
It really is a team effort from all different roles of staff that make a difference, and I am so pleased you got to experience this too.
Warmest Wishes

My mother spent over 2 years in the care at Longacre. She had Alzheimer's and needed 24 hour care. Everyday they got her out of bed and she spent the day in the lounge, often joining in the activities especially singing. My dad was allowed to spend time with her both during the day and early evening.
When she began suffering from the final effects of the illness, she was given extra special care and we were allowed to stay with her. The monitoring of her to make her comfortable was very professional and with upmost care. Truly outstanding.
Reply from Diane Thorp, Manager at Longacre Nursing HomeThank you so much Sally for your lovely review mum was truly a special lady who will be missed by everyone. I am so pleased dad will be volunteering with us shortly as we know how much he enjoyed helping and having his lunch with the residents for company while mum was resident.

My husband attended Longacre Nursing Home in Worthing for a two week respite stay in September this year and although it was very concerning for us both, it was in fact a very successful respite stay.
My husband suffers from a rare neurological condition which means I have to have additional help
at home, so I was concerned if his very complicated needs would be met.
However after a thorough assessment with the manager at Longacre, I was completely reassured that the home would be able to look after my husband and meet his complicated needs.
All the staff were very friendly and very attentive and listened carefully to my wishes, which were essential to follow, if my husband was to feel safe there. They took note of all the documentation I sent them and tried their very best to mirror the care that I have in place, at our own home. I feel very lucky that we finally found Longacre. All the staff are experienced and clearly show how much they want to help, which was essential to see.
Reply from Diane Thorp, Manager at Longacre Nursing HomeThank you so much for taking the time to write a review, your feedback is very important to us.
It was a pleasure to care for your husband and I am so pleased you both found the experience a successful one.
We look forward to welcoming your husband back in the future for another respite stay with us when needed.

Exemplary and wonderful and dad was very happy and comfortable at all times, he became close especially to senior staff and the manager. Even in his last.

Ashbourne Court Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother recently passed away after living at Ashbourne Court for over 3 years. During that time her Alzheimer's progressed from mild to severe. As the disease progressed and she became bedbound she was totally dependent on the managers professional care for the last 18 months of her life. There is
no better testament to the quality of that care than my mother's health and well being during those months- she had absolutely no issues with skin, infection, eating, or any other complications usually seen in this situation.

I could not have asked for better care at every stage.

The manager and her team were unfailingly caring, kind, competent and compassionate. As my mother's Alzheimer's progressed and her behaviour became erratic the managers care plan was exemplary and her day to day documentation of my mother's behaviour prompt and thorough. I was totally confident that she was safe and in professional hands.

Throughout the years, the manager communicated regularly and comprehensively.

Our beautiful Mum was transferred to Longacre Nursing Home for palliative care on May 6th 2025. All of the staff were very welcoming and looked after Mum with kindness, respect & dignity. They made Mum's final weeks bearable for us as a family, as we had no worries or concerns about the care she was
receiving there.
Mum passed away on Monday 23rd June and we cannot thank everyone at Longacre enough for looking after Mum; you all are truly amazing people.

My Mother had to come in for Paliative care following a stay in hospital. As expected her health deteriorated fairly quickly but during her time with Longacre they were very attentive and caring and always made sure that mum was comfortable even sitting with her for her final moments.
As with most
places it would be easy to pick holes, however the most important thing is the care that the residents receive and I can't fault them for this. My mother was a very independant person, not used to having people 'fuss around' her. The team coped with this well, never getting impatient instead they were always smiling.
The manager had the attitude that they should, within reason, be allowed what they want in their final days to make the resident more comfortable. This was a lovely approach to her care.

Mum was treated extremely well at Longacre. They were kind and respectful looking after her needs. Mum enjoyed being in the lounge with the other residents where there was a cheerful atmosphere. The staff put on lots of entertainment and activities with singers coming in. Mum liked having her nails
manicured, which also gave the staff an opportunity to get to know her better.
The staff were always welcoming and helpful whenever I visited. I was confident in the level of care that Mum was receiving, and the manager was very kind and put Mum's needs first when she left.

We're truly grateful to everyone at Longacre Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to my mother-in-law. The staff were consistently kind, respectful, and supportive, treating her with real dignity. The home was always clean, warm and welcoming, with a lovely atmosphere.
The food was excellent,
and the range of activities helped keep her engaged and comfortable. Every member of staff we met was compassionate and professional, and the management was always approachable and supportive.
Her room was cosy and well-maintained, and we always felt confident in the level of safety and care she received.
Longacre really felt like a home, not just for her but for us too during visits. We couldn't have asked for better care. Thank you for all the compassion, patience and warmth. You made a very difficult time that little bit easier, and for that, we're forever grateful.

My mum moved into Longacre after suffering with Alzheimer's and Dementia for quite some time. We have previous experience with this home as my Aunty also resided here for 6 years suffering with Dementia so we already knew the Manager and Owner.
This is a fantastic and trustworthy home that goes over
and above to look after its residents. Nothing is too much trouble and always done with a smile on their face. Their jobs aren't easy and I have so much time for them. They really do care and do their utmost to please Mum as she can be hard work. They are thoughtful and have great personalities which bring comfort and laughter to her and I appreciate that so much. Mum never goes without food and there is always something going on in the lounge for all residents to enjoy. I wouldn't have Mum anywhere else and have complete peace of mind knowing she is safe and cared for appropriately. Thank you all.

My husband is having the very best care in this friendly home. The carers, nursing staff and all ancillary staff are very caring and helpful and support me as well as my husband. The residents have made a collage for the wall which to my mind says it all - 'Our residents do not live in our workplace'
'We work in their home'.
The manager is very friendly, extremely efficient and helpful. Longacre is full of compassionate, sympathetic and accommodating staff who deliver excellent and dignified care to the residents, ensuring their every possible need is met.
